Welcome everyone to The Art of Art Business. I'm your host Jonathan Edward Goodman the owner of Trigonal Gallery along with my Co-host collage artist extraordinaire Morgan Jesse Lappin.  This week on the show we have two fantastic collage artists. Stephen Tierney is joining us from Australia where tomorrow is already today there. Steve Tierney is a mixed media artist and designer known for his striking, minimalist collages assembled using images cut from vintage magazines. Steve explores themes of vulnerability, identity, gender and form through his collages.  And we have Adrienne Moumin who is best known for her hand-cut-and-assembled gelatin silver photo collages, and for the B&W photographs from which they are made. In the early 2000’s she began cutting up gelatin silver photographs for use in collage. This led to her ongoing Architextures series of hand-cut-and-assembled photo collages.  Before we begin I just want to remind our viewers that Trigonal Gallery is currently hosting our LGBTQ show called PRIDE. The show can be seen online at Artsy.net/Trigonal and is currently physically viewable at Strictly CBD at 394 Communipaw Ave in Jersey City New Jersey where it will remain open to the public throughout the month. Hey Stoners Welcome to The Johno Show I’m your host Jonathan. It’s strain review day and today we’re doing a two-for-one cause not only am I gonna talk about the top 5 facts of the Cannabis strain known as Larry OG but I’m also using Quaddeucenil’s newest product their Cartridge Concealer. First off let’s talk about Quaddeucenil’s newest product their Cartridge Concealer. I’m in love!! First, look how tiny this thing is. It fits right in the palm of your hand and it only has one button, which produces 8 watts or 3.7 volts that vaporizes the oil. It fits all 10mm cartridges on the market today and the concealer comes with a magnetic attachment that fits onto the cartridge so it doesn’t slip out of the concealer. You just have to remember to take the attachment off before throwing away the used up cartridge. And the price is fantastic!! It’s just $20 but don’t expect to find this on the Quaddeucenil website anytime soon. Instead you’ve got to contact them directly but believe me it’s worth it. What I love most about this tool and maybe it’s just for the Larry OG or it’s true for all oils is that I can take one hit in the morning and it makes my body feel great. I can even take two hits and it completely relaxes me. It’s not until the third or fourth hit that I’m getting high. So it microdoses super well. Otherwise I’d need to roll and finish a joint or smoke from my bong or pipe and then I’d be completely stoned. This allows me to take the equivalent of a low dose xanax and work my way up to how high I need to get. Okay now let’s talk about the Larry OG… Fact Number 5: History & Lineage Larry OG, also called Lemon Larry is an indica hybrid that was originally created in Orange County. It’s a cross between OG Kush and SFV OG. It won 1st place for medical Indica strain during the Cannabis Cup2014. Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects The Larry OG produces a potent yet easy body buzz that will allow you to relax while getting things done. The effects are happy but not overwhelming. In fact, many users have reported they feel both stimulated and relaxed at the same time and I can definitely attest to that and for me it helps me focus and it alleviates stress so it’s a good strain for those suffering from depression. Positive – Relaxed, Happy, Uplifted, Euphoric Negative – Sleepy (which I haven’t personally experienced), Dry Mouth, Dry Eyes, Medical – Stress, Pain, Depression, Insomnia, Lack of Appetite Fact Number 3: Sativa vs Indica & THC/CBD Levels The THC count of Larry OG is around 21%. Its CBD is usually around 0.5% but since I’m using oil and not flower my understanding is that this Larry OG is an ethanol extract, which is different from BHO, CO2 and distillate and I’ll definitely get someone on the show to discuss the differences in each of these. Fact Number 2: Appearance, Smell & Taste Like other members of the OG family, this strain has a very clean and piney aroma. The nugs tend to be dense and feature distinct burnt orange hairs that are longer than average. It gives off a pungent sweet and fresh aroma. The taste of the strain is similar to the smell and is sweet and tangy. Now for me again since I’m using an oil the smell and taste to me…and I know this is weird…but it’s like Coca-Cola. Go figure. Flavors – Earthy, Lemon, Pine Fact Number 1: You Gotta Smoke It to Know It! So how do I feel? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-johno-show/support
Top 5 Facts on Cannabis Strain Strawberry Cough. It’s strain review day and weedtuber Johno is talking about the top 5 facts of the Cannabis strain Strawberry Cough I’m using a disposable vape pen from JollyStick. Disposable vape pens have become very common in the market and for good reason. The pen itself doesn’t increase the price of the oil by that much. Plus it’s super easy to transport. It literally looks like you’re just putting a pen in your mouth. Now let’s look at this Strawberry Cough… Fact Number 5: History & Lineage Strawberry Cough is a potent sativa blend with unmistakable strawberry flavor, which is the result of a crossbreeding project by cannabis pioneer Kyle Kushman. Its won the title of Best Flower in the 2013 Cannabis Cup. Kyle Kushman, a former High Times editor and now the proprietor of L.A. dispensary Bud and Roses, developed Strawberry Cough largely by accident in 2000. Kushman says he received a small clone from another breeder. The clone had supposedly been grown next to a strawberry patch somewhere in Connecticut. Kushman called that original clone Strawberry Field and then crossed it with a Haze plant. The result is Strawberry Cough. Now here’s the part of the story that maybe one part truth and two parts fiction. The way Kushman tells the story is that he built a buzz around Strawberry Cough in New York City’s underground cannabis market. He then moved out west to focus on cultivation in California and handed out clones of Strawberry Cough on the cross-country drive, which in turn boosted its popularity to it’s now staggering level. Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects Positive Effects – Happy, Uplifted, Euphoric, and Relaxed. It’s great for managing social anxieties and helps balance stress. The strain provides a cerebral uplifting effect. It’s said to be great for problem-solving, creativity and deep conversation. Medical Uses – Primarily Stress and Depression but also good for Pain and Fatigue. Negatives – Dry Mouth, Dry Eyes and if you take too much of it there is a high probability you may experience paranoia. And the high lasts longer than usual at about 3 to 4 hours. Fact Number 3: Sativa vs Indica & THC/CBD Levels Strawberry Cough is a sativa-dominant Hybrid with 80% Sativa and 20% Indica. The THC level is said to be around 20%. Fact Number 2: Appearance, Smell & Taste Strawberry Cough has solid densely-packed leaves and the buds look like tiny pinecones. The flowers are covered in cloudy amber trichomes producing a slightly yellowish appearance. When you smoke Strawberry Cough it produces a harsh smoke that makes many people cough. Hence the name. Now I’m gonna give you little insight and tell you a funny story. First, I’m actually allergic to berries including strawberries. Of course there are no real strawberries in this cannabis it’s just the smell. But now I’m not sure if it’s because I’m just never around strawberries or haven’t tasted one since I was in my teens but to me this smells like baby poop. And now here’s the story. I was hanging with some friends and we were hot boxing a hotel room and passing around a wide assortment of strains. Then someone must have lit a version of this strain and I got so sick of the smell. I truly thought someone had shit their pants and I had to get out of there as quick as I could. Until now smoking this strain I still believed someone had shit themselves, which thankfully now I know is not the case. So while everyone loves this smell for being similar to strawberries. To me it smells like baby poop. Which does make me gag a little even now when I’m using the oil. Fact Number 1: You Gotta Smoke It to Know It! Here are the top 5 facts of the Cannabis strain known as Zkittles. Tim Mattson runs the CannaBus Culture Film Festival June 22nd at the Wythe Hotel Cinema in Williamsburg Brooklyn. So Tim before we get into all this tell us about the CannaBus Culture Film Festival… Now Tim a couple things have changed since you were here last time. It’s warm enough for us to get back into the studio and we now smoke at the very beginning of the show. So let’s take a moment to do that now. Fact Number 5: History & Lineage Zkittlez is an indica-dominant strain with a mix lineage of Grape Ape an Indica strain and Grapefruit a sativa as well as another undisclosed strain. It’s bred by 3rd Gen Family and Terp Hogz. Zkittlez took 1st Place in the 2016 Emerald Cup and 1st Place for Indica at the 2015 Cannabis Cups in San Francisco and in Michigan. Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects Despite the fact it leans towards indica it provides a very clear-headed, active, focus, and alert feeling with a body high that is relaxing, calming, and stress relieving as you come down from the peak of your high. The effects include Relaxed, Happy and Euphoric. It can make some users a little sleepy. Medically it works great for Depression and Stress. It has limited effect on nausea, pain and insomnia. It can definitely cause serious dizziness, dry eyes and dry mouth. Very few people also experience headaches. Fact Number 3: Sativa vs Indica & THC/CBD Levels Zkittlez is an even split with 50% Sativa and 50% Indica. The THC is supposedly between 9 and 15%. Fact Number 2: Appearance, Smell & Taste It literally smells and tastes like skittles!! The strain has a sweet candied citrus, lemon zest. When smoking it smells like someone left a bag of skittles on their dashboard on a very hot day. It’s a mix of citrus zest, tropical punch and those jellied citrus candies you eat at Passover. The nugs also look amazing as they explode in a spectrum of light green hues. Now here’s a crazy story about this strain. I was smoking this with some friends in a hotel room. We had the jar open for maybe ten minutes beforehand. After we were done smoking I walked around the room and the place smelled like fresh lemon. It was like the cleaning people had just polished the countertops. The smell just lingered in the room afterwards. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. Medical usage is for depression, stress, pain and to a lesser degree nausea and fatigue. The negatives effects are as usual dry mouth and dry eyes. Fact Number 3: Sativa vs Indica & THC/CBD Levels WiFi OG is a 60% sativa hybrid featuring the best parts of both its parent strains. The THC level is an unprecedented 22 – 28%. Fact Number 2: Appearance, Smell & Taste Appearance, well while we’re actually doing dabs I happen to know that the WiFi OG flowers are just packed with white trichomes making the green leaves nearly invisible from a distance. The smell coming from the WiFi OG is a spicy flavor with a ginger citrus reminiscent of sour diesel. And it has a sweet and earthy flavor. Fact Number 1: You Gotta Smoke It to Know It! Matt give our audience a little preview of what we are going to talk about tomorrow. As is customary now on The Johno Show we light up before counting down!! So let’s do it!! Fact Number 5: History & Lineage Super Glue is a cross between Afghani and Northern Lights. It took 3rd place in the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup because it lives up to it’s name as a heavy-hitting indica hybrid that’ll have you couch-locked and glued to your seat with just a couple of hits. Super Glue is an extremely rare find at your average dispensary. Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects Superglue’s effects include Relaxed, Happy, Uplifted and Euphoric with an added boost of focus. For Medical patients it works well for Stress, Pain, Depression, Lack of Appetite and to a lesser degree Insomnia. The only Negatives are a serious case of Dry Mouth and to a lesser degree Dry Eyes with just a slightly elevated level of anxiety, dizziness and paranoia. The initial high provides you with a euphoric boost that includes an increase in energy. Strain Review: G13

Strain Review: G13

2019-01-0113:22

The Johno Show guest is Michael Solomon the owner of Easy Butter Maker. Today is strain review day. Here are the top 5 facts of the Cannabis strain known as G13. Before we get started Michael tell us a little about Easy Butter Maker for all our weedtubers out there. And as is customary on The Johno Show we light up before counting down!! So let’s do it!! Fact Number 5: History & Lineage Last week, when I was in Florida, we reviewed OG Kush, which had mysterious origins. Well here I am again in Florida again and wouldn’t you know it today’s strain is also clouded in mystery and myth. G13 was allegedly created by the CIA and FBI at a super-secret location at the University of Mississippi when they were working with native Afghani weed for “medical” purposes. Some believe it was the product of the NIDA Drug Supply Program. The story goes that a single cutting of the plant was liberated by an unnamed technician and bred for the masses. Allegedly the G in G13 stands for Government Indica Strain. In 1999 the super-strain was featured in “American Beauty” when Lester Burnham played by Kevin Spacey acquires some from next door neighbor Ricky Fitts played by Wes Bently. Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects G13 starts with a euphoric lift that hits you hard with a push of energy and even increases motivation. Unfortunately, that’s quickly taken over by a heavy full body buzz that locks you down into deep relaxation lasting for hours. You’re still able to retain a calm, clear head and uplifted mood particularly with a bong. Medically this strain can be used for Stress, Pain, Depression, Insomnia and to a lesser degree nausea. Negatives are big time dry mouth and to a lesser degree Dry Eyes, Dizziness, Headache and a slight bit of anxiousness. Fact Number 3: Sativa vs Indica & THC/CBD Levels G13 is an indica-dominant strain with 70% Indica / 30% Sativa and 22% to 24% THC. Fact Number 2: Appearance, Smell & Taste G13 has a pungent sweet, earthy skunk smell. Some people say it reeks of wild berries making your mouth water. I’m a little concerned because sometimes these berry smelling strains interpret themselves as baby poop for me, since I’m allergic to berries and are never around them to remember what that smell is. But the taste on your lips is supposed to be an unmistakable creamy sweet flavor. Fact Number 1: You Gotta Smoke It to Know It! Before we get started Randi tell us a little about iCUP. And as is customary on The Johno Show we light up before counting down!! So let’s do it!! Fact Number 5: History & Lineage The story goes that Bubble Gum was developed in the 1970s by growers in Indiana using a North American Hybrid and a Unknown Indica strain of cannabis. Then the genetics moved to New England and eventually to Holland. It took several generations of to master a strain that embodied the smell and taste of Bubble Gum. Since then Bubble Gum has been the winner of several awards in the High Times Cannabis Cup. It won in ’94 and took 2nd place in ’95 and again in ’99. Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects Bubble Gum starts with a buzzing head high that is typically followed by an even heavier body buzz. The effects can last up to two hours and leaves the user Relaxed, Uplifted and Creative. Medically it works for patients suffering from anxiety, stress, and mood-related disorders. It also helps relieve pain, insomnia, and a lack of appetite. The only Negatives are as usual Dry Mouth, Dry Eyes and to a Lesser Degree: Dizziness, Anxiousness and Paranoia. Fact Number 3: Sativa vs Indica & THC/CBD Levels Bubble Gum is a 50% Sativa /50% Indica Hybrid with an alleged THC at 30% which is unusually high. Fact Number 2: Appearance, Smell & Taste Bubble Gum produces a Sweet Berry Flower taste. It’s milder than many other strains but is reminiscent of a bag of Big League Chew Gum or old school Bazooka Joe Bubblegum. The nugs are light green with bright orange colored hairs and lots of crystals that make the whole tree look snowy. Fact Number 1: You Gotta Smoke It to Know It! While OG Kush and SFV OG are related they are in fact two different strains. Most notably OG Kush has the afghani side to its strain the SFV OG does not. Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects The high from SFV OG is almost immediately felt in the body and quickly followed by an elevation of euphoria balanced by the deep indica side of this strain. It packs a punch, but the overall effect is well-balanced and often encourages feelings of happiness and contentment. SFV OG helps treat patients suffering from depression, chronic pain, muscle spasms, and stress. It’s great for patients who need strong pain relief but don’t want to be stuck on the couch all day. General side effects include dry eyes, dry mouth, and slight paranoia. It makes conversation easy, while the calming effects of the bud can help keep any social stress or anxiety at bay. Novice consumers or those with a low tolerance may find this strain to be a little sedative. In high doses, this strain is known to make people feel dizzy. Medically, Gelato is great for chronic aches and pains including headaches and migraines. Patients suffering from muscle spasms, chronic pain, inflammation and fatigue can all benefit from Gelato. The Johno Show livestreamed the Marvin Washington Press Conference suing Jeff Sessions in landmark lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the controlled substances act. Attorney General Jeff Sessions was named a defendant today in a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Controlled Substances Act as it pertains to Cannabis/Marijuana. In a 90-page Complaint, attorneys representing five plaintiffs maintain that the CSA, in classifying Cannabis as a “Schedule I drug,” is so irrational that it violates the U.S. Constitution. In their Complaint, plaintiffs demonstrate that the Federal Government does not, and could not possibly, believe that Cannabis meets the definition of a Schedule I drug, which is reserved for the most dangerous of substances, such as heroin, LSD and mescaline. By way of comparison, cocaine and crystal meth are considered Schedule II drugs and are thus considered less addictive and less dangerous. To be classified under Schedule I, a drug: (i) must have a high potential for abuse; (ii) must have absolutely no medical use in treatment; and (iii) cannot be used or tested safely, even under strict medical supervision. The plaintiffs point out that the Federal Government knows that Cannabis does not meet these requirements, especially given that, among other things, the Federal Government: (a) obtained its own medical patent based upon the Federal Government’s assertion that medical Cannabis is a safe and effective treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and HIV-induced dementia (among other conditions); (b) established a national policy to refrain from investigating and/or prosecuting medical Cannabis businesses and users in the 29 States and three other areas under American jurisdiction (including Washington, DC) that have legalized Cannabis for medical and/or recreational use; (c) provided instructions, through issuance of the FinCen Guidance, on how financial institutions can bank Cannabis business; and (d) admitted that Cannabis does constitute medicine, including through statements by the U.S. Surgeon General and a Federal Administrative Law Judge. “The record makes clear that the CSA doesn’t make any rational sense, and the Federal Government knows it,” says Michael Hiller, lead counsel in the case.” Hiller went on to explain that, “if the Federal Government doesn’t believe in the rationality of its own statute, it’s unconstitutional to enforce it.” Among the other claims in the lawsuit are that the CSA: (i) was enacted and implemented in order to discriminate against African Americans and to suppress people’s First Amendment rights; and (ii) violates plaintiffs’ constitutional Right to Travel. The plaintiffs include: Retired professional football player and Super Bowl Champion, Marvin Washington, who desires, but is ineligible (due to the CSA) to obtain grants under the Federal Minority Business Enterprise program, to open a business that would allow professional football players (among others) to treat with medical Cannabis to reduce opioid dependency and addition; An 11-year old girl, Alexis Bortell, who moved to Colorado from Texas so that she could treat her intractable epilepsy with medical Cannabis; A six-year old Georgia boy suffering from Leigh’s Disease, Jagger Cotte, who has been using medical Cannabis to lengthen his life and control his otherwise excruciating pain; Disabled military combat veteran Jose Belen, who uses medical Cannabis to control his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); and The Cannabis Cultural Association, whose membership includes many People of Color who contend that the CSA was enacted and has been enforced in a discriminatory manner, rendering them unable to participate in, among other things, the Cannabis industry. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-johno-show/support

Personal trainer Salam is going to help me try to take off a couple of pounds while I document my weight loss journey as a weedtuber. Weight has always been a big issue for me. Ever since I was a teenager my weight went up and down. Recently, it’s gone back up and I want to both stop the increase and hopefully go back on the decline. Welcome to an honest discussion about my weight. Yeah!! In the months ahead Salam and I are going to bring you episodes on fitness, nutrition, diet and the overall psychology behind weight gain and the motivating forces in trying to lose weight. In addition to these episodes I plan to provide you with updates on SnapChat, Instagram and Periscope in the days and months ahead. Today we are kicking off with a conversation on nutrition. But first Salam tell us a little about The Academy. Thank you Salam. Now we are going to turn the table and instead of me interviewing my guest, Salam is going to ask me a couple of questions: Question 1: How much do you weigh? Question 2: What are your go to foods when you’re hungry? Question 3: What is your daily exercise routine right now? Question 4: Do you have any injuries or conditions? Question 5: How is your stress level? Thank you for watching. As always please share this with your friends on social media and give it a thumbs up if you liked it. Welcome to my weight loss journey cannabis community you must subscribe cause I’m the weedtuber to watch. Yeah!! Salam in a previous episode we talked about my eating habits. Today we are going to talk about what my fitness options are as a 46 year old who has a bad back and hasn’t done any strenuous exercise in the last several years because of it. I am very concerned about re-injuring my back because that could have me held up in bed for days, weeks, even months. So we need to be careful there. I know you have a couple of questions for me before throwing me into an exercise routine. So let’s talk about that now. Question 1: So to begin with let’s talk about your history of exercise. Question 2: What is your ultimate goal? Question 3: How is your flexibility and Range of Motion? Question 4: What kind of exercises do you enjoy doing? Question 5: How is your breathing and Nerve Strength? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-johno-show/support
Hey Stoners Welcome to The Johno Show. I’m your host Johno. We are here with my friend Matt, founder of TransitBlog.net. We’re gonna ask him 5 questions about Transit Blog. Yeah! Question 1: Tell us a little about the Transit Blog. Transit is a platform to shed light on the people, places and events that inspire us to get somewhere. I wanted to tell stories from the road, the amazing people I met along the way and the moments that inspired me. Question 2: Have you helped premier any local talent and events? I’ve covered up and coming local artists to established international artists (D Double E, Swindle). We’ve premiered several albums for local artists and helped organize and market events like the Freq Show. We are partnered with a few collectives- Sermon 3, Progressive Beat Culture and EyeStayGold Records. Moving forward we are working on more events, new contributors from around the world (right now we have London, Berlin and Toronto working on articles about social change in urban settings, music reviews, etc), and merch. The merch will be exclusive merchandise from local street artists and exclusive musical releases. There are giveaways and guerrilla campaigns in the works as well to help expand partnered brands. Question 3: What is Transit Blog’s input into the Cannabis Industry? As far as our involvement in the Cannabis industry, it has been fairly passive up until this point. Last year I was covering Philly Smoke Session events at One Art Community Center, however this year they were unfortunately shut down. Like the CannaGather event, I would like to cover more people creating the industry. I would also like to expand visibility of the possibilities to my base which is often bogged down by the taboo ‘weed’ ideals and embrace the ‘cannabis community’. I believe reaching people through music, art and urban culture we can create a better educated cannabis base. I will achieve this through giveaways, interviews and event coverage. Also on the side I’m starting to grow my network of industry professionals and as we get closer to a full blown industry I am positioning myself to be an asset for marketing (my background is in grassroots marketing for start-ups). Transit would be a strong tool in the arsenal, but also I would be able to connect event organizers and artists to emerging brands. Question 4: What are some noticeable changes you’ve seen in terms of Cannabis at some of these shows? Question 5: How can digital media be a strong ally in the Cannabis market as it emerges throughout the nation? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-johno-show/support
