I got to talk with Sarah from Meow Co., a non-profit organization in Bakersfield that focuses on helping cats and their owners with medical needs.
I got to talk with Kimiko and Paige from M.A.R.E. Therapeutic Riding Center about their upcoming Diamonds and Denim fundraising gala. This gala helps benefit services that M.A.R.E. uses to assist children, adults, and veterans with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges. This is a wonderful organization!

I got to talk to Patrick Spurlock, one of the hardest working people in Bakersfield. We discussed upcoming art exhibits in town, his work with Phantom Stranger, Inc., as well as the importance of the growing art and music scenes in Kern County.
I had the pleasure of talking with Cherie Shoemake from Optimal Hospice about their annual kids camp. This camp is for children who have experienced the loss of loved one and is free to attend. The organization continues to do amazing, kind work in the community and this is just one of the ways they are helping.
I got to discuss Mental Health Awareness Month with Roger Perez from Behavioral Health and Recovery Services in Kern County. We discuss events for the month of May, but also general facts, support, and services that are offered year round for mental health.
I got to talk to a couple of heroes of mine again-Michael J. Nelson and Bill Corbett of Rifftrax and Mystery Science Theater 3000! We talked about the upcoming "trilogy" of films they'll be riffing LIVE, how they pick which movies to do, and I make things weird because that is what I do.

I got to talk with Christie and Stacey about the work they are doing to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Christie is looking to raise funds to specifically benefit the area of pediatrics as possible Woman of the Year through the society.
