Description

When stripped of our attire and our titles, we are all hairless apes: beautiful, magnificent, intelligent apes. This show gives voice to one such hairless ape. This hairless ape sheds titles and accoutrements to better expose his *ahem* humanity to the podcast-a-verse. This is the podcast where you willingly and knowingly subject yourself to the oft-times incoherent ramblings of an erudite, yet somehow still knuckle-dragging hairless ape. The formula here is pretty simple: whatever this ape happens to be fixating upon, will be the subject of that episode. So strap in as we delve into the majesty, travesty and strange beauty that is the mind of The Hairless Ape.

Join us today as HA provides an intimate glimpse into what makes him tick.  Had an inkling that HA might be a little weird?  That's cause you're perceptive.  Good for you.  Now follow HA down memory lane as he traces his own Inception-level plunge into self realization.
HA discusses three podcasts with which he has recently become enamored:  Ologies with Alie Ward, Very Bad Wizards, and The Jeselnik and Rosenthal Vanity Project.  After analyzing his crush on a podcast host, HA gives his take on courage in academia, and ends by disclosing his crush on a podcasting comedian.
HA begins the episode pondering the strange persistence of black face in America.  After transitioning to a brief discussion of Rachel Dolezal, HA sets his sights on Elizabeth Warren and her puzzling ancestral claims.  He ends on a more optimistic note with a discussion about a new study tying people's natural disgust reactions to their political views.
Today HA addresses the hairy question of his name.  What was he thinking naming this podcast, "The Hairless Ape" (hint: evolution is strangely not the answer)? He continues by talking about his general social media ineptitude and his mishaps with Twitter in particular.  HA then discusses horrific videos and how he responds to them. He ends with a discussion about Philip Dick, Kevin Spacey and Hitler's watercolors.
HA breaks down the nature of motivation and inspiration after experiencing the majesty of Jocko Willink in the form of a short inspirational video.  HA then seamlessly transitions to a discussion of "white privilege."  Was his seamless transition made possible solely because of white privilege?  You be the judge.
In this episode, HA discusses his atheism, his belief in the positive effects of religion, and his hopes for a better union between believers and nonbelievers.  He ends by making a big stink about small talk and figuratively engaging “literally” in a death match.
Today HA attempts to educate us on the failings and flailings of American education.  He is painfully aware that his edification itself might, at times, flail and fail.  He continues with an equally uninformed discussion of Tinder and its social impact.
In the inaugural episode, HA shakes hands with the Grim Reaper and reminds us all to carpe diem.  After solving the tension between life and death, HA attempts to resolve the tension between CNN and Fox News -- spoiler: he fails miserably.  He concludes with thoughts on designer babies and the seductive wormholes of YouTube react videos.
