COVID-19 has proven to be a major threat to higher education. Most colleges and universities around the United States have shuttered their on-campus functions and are operating in virtual environments only. These transitions force the question: is higher education as we know it sustainable? Six SUNY Plattsburgh Planet Forward correspondents and contributors had a virtual happy hour to talk about their experiences adapting to the uncertainties of coronavirus, college life at home, online courses, and the cancellation of upcoming graduation, study abroad experiences and other events. It is worth noting that a seventh member of our team could not join the conversation because he was tending to a relative diagnosed with COVID-19.Disclaimer: The views, information, or opinions expressed here on Pod for the Planet are solely those of the individuals involved and do not necessarily represent the official policy or position of any other agency, organization, employer or company.Twitter: @pod4theplanet Instagram: @pod4theplanet Music By Matt Cincinnati

Green New Deal

Green New Deal

Over the past year we have been hearing a lot about the Green New Deal. The media jumped on it when Alexandria Ocasio Cortez unveiled her proposal for the GND last February. Since then there has been a lot of hype and criticism surrounding the famous environmental plan. But what actually is the GND? What does it say? What does the plan include? Why are there so many “different versions” of it on the left? Who will the GND benefit? And ultimately… will it be enough?AOC Defending the GNDIntercept Video Explaining GNDVOX explainer of the GNDACTUAL GND PROPOSAL If you can, check out this link to support our show!Disclaimer: The views, information, or opinions expressed here on Pod for the Planet are solely those of the individuals involved and do not necessarily represent the official policy or position of any other agency, organization, employer or company.Twitter: @pod4theplanet Instagram: @pod4theplanet Music By Matt Cincinnati
