On this episode of the SA Command Zone, Joe, Rudy, Stephen, and Michael recap the San Antonio Commanders 23-6 loss to the Arizona Hotshots. We talk about what went wrong, the quarterback mixup, offensive problems and more. For a written recap of the game, be sure to read Stephen’s article. This episode was recorded prior to today’s news that the AAF is suspending all operations and a league folding is imminent. Look for a special podcast on that news later this week. Aside from covering the game on Sunday, the SA Command Zone crew also visited several of the tailgaters before the game, and we had one tailgater on our live stream last night. You can watch that on Facebook.
Joe, Rudy, and Stephen are back to talk Commanders once again just hours after covering the game live at the Alamodome. They talk about the Commanders 19-15 win over the Salt Lake Stallions and their upcoming home game against the Arizona Hotshots. The Commanders retain the lead in the Western Conference with this win. Be sure to check back this weekend as the full crew will be together at the Alamodome to provide live coverage on social media and a brand new podcast after Sunday’s game. Joe Garcia, Stephen Anderson, and Rudy Campos Jr. break down the San Antonio Commanders’ win over the Atlanta Legends on Sunday, which gave the Commanders sole possession of first place in the West. But even after a 37-6 win, does the Campos Curse live on or does Rudy easy up on Logan Woodside? To finish out the episode, the guys preview the upcoming home game against the Salt Lake Stallions. Guest host Walter Pasacrita joins Joe, Rudy, Stephen and Michael as we break down the Commanders road win over the Arizona Hotshots, giving them the lead in the Western Conference. Rudy continues his criticism of quarterback Logan Woodside, which has produced great results so far, as Woodside easily put up his best game of the season. We also preview this week’s matchup against the Atlanta Legends, which will close out the Commanders’ four-game road trip.
On this week’s episode of the SA Command Zone podcast, Joe Garcia, Rudy Campos Jr., Stephen Anderson, and Michael De Leon recap the Commanders big road win over the Birmingham Iron, who had come into yesterday’s game undefeated. The Commanders relied heavily on Kenneth Farrow and he delivered with his best performance of the young AAF season. We also talk about how the Commanders almost gave the game away in the fourth quarter and what they will have to do avoid those mistakes. We previewed this week’s upcoming game against Atlanta and closed the show talking about the recent news of the Commanders having the AAF rights to former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and whether he would be a good fit in San Antonio or not.
SA Command Zone is back for episode two. In this episode, I am joined by Rudy Campos Jr. of the Rated R Sportscast and Stephen Anderson, our editor here at 1st and 210. We broke down the Commanders road loss to the San Diego Fleet, a team they had just beat in week one. With the loss, the Commanders dropped to 1-2 on the season. We also previewed a tough game coming this weekend against the undefeated Birmingham Iron and gave our thoughts on some of the key points of the game. Also, do the Commanders need to start looking elsewhere, particularly somewhere on their own roster to look for a solution for the inconsistent quarterback play, and what does the sale of the AAF after week one mean for this upstart league.
Our crew at 1st and 210/Project Spurs Network have teamed up with the Two Shots Podcast Network to produce a joint weekly podcast on the AAF’s San Antonio Commanders. On episode one, Joe Garcia, Rudy Campos Jr. and I discussed the Commanders vs. Apollos game in detail, including the positives we took away from the game and some key mistakes that cost them in the end. It’s safe to say we were not fans of swapping quarterbacks, especially at an important part of the game, but we were happy to see San Antonio show up big once again, almost eclipsing 30,000 in attendance. For more on the game, be sure to read Stephen Anderson’s game recap. We also previewed next week’s road game against the San Diego Fleet and if there is anything you should watch for after the Commanders defense came up big in the first game against the Fleet. For more sports podcast, be sure to listen to the Two Shots Podcast, the Rated R Podcast and the Spurscast.
