On Thursday April 29, 2021, the Florida Supreme Court released an administrative order changing the standard Florida State Judges are to use when ruling on Motions for Summary Judgment. The next day, Friday April 30, 2021, ABOTA produced a webinar that included an outstanding panel including: Broward Judges Carol-Lisa Phillips, Jeffrey Levenson, United States District Court (Southern District of Florida) Judge Raag Singhal, Board Certified Appellate Lawyer Andrew Harris, and longtime ABOTA member and Past-President of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter, Joe Kashi. The program was moderating by ABOTA Fort Lauderdale President Brent Reitman. The panel discussed Florida’s migration to the Celotex standard already in use in Federal Courts.
