We chatted about her experience, and you’ll find that episode under the title “Founding a Public Relations firm” on September 25, 2019. That interview was the tipping point for Melanie to develop her own podcast. It’s called Biz Com with W.O.M. W.O.M. is the acronym for Melanie’s PR firm, Word of Mouth. One of Melanie’s first guests was our very own Dr. Josh Boyd, Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator in the Lamb School here at Purdue. The link to Melanie’s podcast is below in the show notes as well as the link to her PR firm’s website.I hope you enjoy this cross-posted episode. You’ll find a similar episode, with me as the guest, posted March 4 of 2020. Without further ado, Melanie DeFilippis' BizCOM with W.O.M. presents “Communication, Crisis Management and Sports Public Relations with Dr. Josh Boyd.
When I found out that recent alumni Nate Piggush and Natalie Weber were returning to campus, I had to see if they would join me on the podcast. I asked, and they both graciously accepted. Nate and Natalie graduated in May 2018, so we get a useful snapshot of two recent alumni…about 2 years into their post-graduation careers. Nate and Natalie both live in Indianapolis. Nate works in advertising and Natalie works in public relations. Without further ado, my chat with Nate Piggush and Natalie Weber. Ditto PR LinkBradley and Montgomery Link
"Audio Syllabi" is an ongoing series that attempts to give students more information in order to either choose and/or prepare for courses in a more-informed manner. In each episode, I talk to a course instructor about content, assignments and other relevant information.

Hello listeners. I have been very fortunate to have Jordan Lott interning with onward upward this year. One of the tasks I added to her to-do list was creating a list of potential interviewees for the show. When we talked about this particular guest, I could sense some excitement. The guest works in healthcare, and that is also an interest for Jordan. So, for today’s episode, I turned over the mic.Jordan has done a wonderful job interning with me this year, and she did a wonderful job guest-hosting for the podcast. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did. Without further ado, onward.upward’s first guest-hosted episode. Jordan Lott’s chat with Maureen Richmond, Vice President for Integrated Communications for Bon Secours Mercy Health. Enjoy!Maureen's LinkedIn Profile
Today’s guest, Rachel semple, graduated from the Lamb School in May 2016. Now about 3 and a half years into her career, she works in Content Marketing. I really enjoyed this brief glimpse into the early career experience of one of our alumns, and I hope it’s the same for you.
