In this episode I break down Fear. Through this pandemic we have seen firsthand the heavy toll that fear exacts and how it spreads. I invested a lot of time and energy into reading, note taking and putting together this episode. I hope that it will open your eyes to the fears that you have in your life and how they are preventing you from being your best, and gives you some keys to fight those fears and understand what courage is and why it is necessary. What is fear? Why fear is holding you back? How do I conquer my fears? What if you choose courage? If we have learned one thing through this "Pandemic" I hope it is that fear is the contagious virus and courage is the cure. Three things that have the power to forge you into the man you can be.Purpose. The Apostle Paul was a man sold out to a purpose, first for evil and then for good.Discipline. King David had the discipline not to kill King Saul when he had the chance.Standards. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego held themselves to a high standard and excelled. The power of purpose is that it gives reason to self-discipline and holding oneself high standards. Purpose gives you a reason hold yourself to a high standard because you have something to loose. Purpose gives you a reason to be disciplined in order to put forth the effort needed to fulfill that purpose.Ever Vigilant|Instagram @theevervigilantFacebook https://www.facebook.com/VigilantwolfWebsite https://www.vigilantwolf.comPatreon https://www.patreon.com/evervigilantT-Shirts, and Swag https://www.teespring.com/stores/evervigilantVisit https://www.Vigilantwolf.com for Holsters and BeltsSubscribe at https://www.Vigilantwolf.com to stay up to date on what I'm up to, the podcast, and store sales, etc.Visit https://www.Patreon.com/evervigilant and become a part of what we have going on here, Join The Pack! In the midst of the Covid-19 chaos you have been given the opportunity to take the reins of leadership. Those who have led in the past are now wondering and waiting and NOT leading. You on the other hand are ready and willing to lead your family, church, and community through this mess. It is our responsibility not only to defend our family but also to build a place of refuge in our homes. A place where we maintain discipline, order, and trust and an atmosphere where--Vulnerability is treasured-Honesty is expected-Failure is acceptable-Challenges are encouraged -Unconditional love is demonstrated How do we create this atmosphere?-Explaining plans and contingencies - build a feeling of security and trust-Delegating responsibilities - gives purpose-Challenging and encouraging - builds confidence-Intentional time reading, talking, playing games, wrestling, etc. - show love-Difficult times (minimize sheltering) - build character and grit-Allowing them to express concerns and fears - builds trust Leverage this time of chaos outside of your castle to build confidence in God, you, and in your family unit.Stay healthy and fight for those you love.Hold Fast and God BlessEver Vigilant|Instagram @theevervigilantFacebook https://www.facebook.com/VigilantwolfWebsite https://www.vigilantwolf.comPatreon https://www.patreon.com/evervigilantT-Shirts, and Swag https://www.teespring.com/stores/evervigilantVisit https://www.Vigilantwolf.com for Holsters and BeltsSubscribe at https://www.Vigilantwolf.com to stay up to date on what I'm up to, the podcast, and store sales, etc.Visit https://www.Patreon.com/evervigilant and become a part of what we have going on here, Join The Pack! Paradigm Shift | 189

2020-03-2323:40

I believe we are in the middle of a paradigm shift, I don't believe that things will be back to normal in a couple of weeks. I believe that normal has been redefined and the new normal is not the old normal. We can choose to accept this as a possibility in order to think clearly and prepare for what is to come. The other option is to leave yourself in denial and potentially put yourself and your family in danger. A shift in mindset will allow you to adapt and to put yourself and your family in a place to succeed vs. exist. If everything does go back to normal at some point we already know how to prepare, defend, and lead, in that paradigm. Are you ready to prepare, defend and lead in a new paradigm?Hold Fast and God Bless.Ever Vigilant|Instagram @theevervigilantEmail evervigilantpodcast@gmail.comFacebook https://www.facebook.com/VigilantwolfWebsite https://www.vigilantwolf.comPatreon https://www.patreon.com/evervigilantT-Shirts, and Swag https://www.teespring.com/stores/evervigilantVisit https://www.Vigilantwolf.com for Holsters and BeltsSubscribe at https://www.Vigilantwolf.com to stay up to date on what I'm up to, the podcast, and store sales, etc.Visit https://www.Patreon.com/evervigilant and become a part of what we have going on here, Join The Pack! In this episode I talk about perseverance though difficult times. Joseph's story (the guy with the colorful coat) shows why a drive toward excellence, and a high standards will help you get through tough times. You have a Responsibility to Prepare, Defend, and Lead.In this episode I talk about a photo that changed my life and lead me down a path of preparedness and why it is your Responsibility to Prepare. I talk a bit about the Corona Virus and point out that very few people if any have actual hard data on what is happening. The fear that the results of a panic may outweigh the impact of the virus has governments doing a precarious balancing act. The impending economic issues as a result of the empty Chinese factories may indeed be the more formidable issue. In the end the Responsibility falls on you to evaluate the risk in your area, are you near an large city that is a hub of international travel or do you reside in rural North Dakota? There is no one size fits all solution, but it is imperative that you start today to prepare, not scare your family. Let your wife and family, rest (and help) in the confidence that you are creating a plan, and will execute that plan to the best of your abilities. The goal of your hard work to improve shouldn't be to be who you want to be, but rather to be who those that depend on you need you to be.There can be NO plan B, if you are not fully committed in the battle against your ego, your fears, and apathy you will fail to succeed in family, marriage, career, and faith. In this episode I define ego, fear, and apathy and with the help of the 'parable of the talents' explain the consequences and the expectations that we are to live up to. The Mission-to challenge and encourage men to Prepare. Defend. Lead. at home and in their communities. Are YOU holding YOU back?In this episode I talk about some key books that I have been reading and how they have positively impacted my life, as well as the Briggs Myers personality test. I give some reasons why I believe you should take it the free test and if I you already have, why I believe that you should take it again with a different attitude. I also disclose my personality type and how it has been holding me back from becoming the husband, father, and leader I want to be.Links-Elite!: The Secret to Exceptional Leadership and Performance - Floyd Woodrow ($1.99 on Kindle)https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AA33GVW/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1The Warrior, Strategist and You: How to Find Your Purpose and Realise Your Potential - Floyd Woodrow ($1.99 on Kindle)https://www.amazon.com/Warrior-Strategist-You-Purpose-Potential-ebook/dp/B0161J59TALeadership Strategy and Tactics: Field Manual by Jocko Willink https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TDY1T6H/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1Briggs Myers Personality Test (FREE)http://www.humanmetrics.com/personalitySupport the Mission https://www.patreon.com/EverVigilantArticles, Gear, Podcast, Training https://www.vigilantwolf.com/
A special rebroadcast of our Christmas Special with Joseph Cartwright. In this episode, I'm joined by my good friend and previous guest Joseph Cartwright owner of Reimagine Men DFW. Their mandate, informed by the Bible, is to see men be fully awake, fully aware and fully active in the world around them. This is best accomplished in the company of other men, following Jesus together into the battlefield of our modern world to challenge the status quo. It is a call to “manhood on fire” where we are clothed in the fiery power of the Holy Spirit as we surrender all for the glory of Christ and the will of God in the earth. I asked Joseph to join me for a special Christmas episode, and he did not disappoint. Reminding us that Jesus didn't stay a baby, that his arrival was foretold hundreds of years earlier. Most importantly we talk about why he came and how the story that started thousands of years ago was all about YOU, and your redemption. God Bless you all and I pray that you and your family have a blessed Christmas. Mike Baker of The Sedated Man podcast joins me again. Whether leading men as a National Guardsman in Iraq or leading in the home as a father of five boys, Mike knows what it takes to lead. In this episode Mike talks about leading in the home, and covers some of the challenges of a mixed family, why consistency is key, and how your children are destined to become what you show them not what you tell them. Predator and Prey, Are you weak or distracted? Brotherhood Be intentional about surrounding yourself with men that will hold you standard and ferociously guard your backside.
Lessons learned from a crappy church experience. 1. Reach out to people who have stopped attending, you never know what is going on in their lives. 2. Don't let a pastor keep you from pursuing your mission. 3. It's OK to leave, there are bad churches out there. 4. Your faith must be your own, people will fail you God will not.
