Brent Olson’s biggest, boldest, and best book yet is a stunning work of alternative history. Olson has achieved an entirely new script for the world by moving the path of one arrow one inch. Brent Olson, a journalist for a quarter of a century, has published seven books and filed thousands of articles from over twenty countries on six continents. Throughout this time, he couldn’t help but wonder, “Could we have done better?” Not fully content with his world, he decided to create a new one. HARALD SIGURDSSON, King Harald Hardrada of Norway, King of the Vikings, was born to rule. He embraced that birthright, dominating his world with the strength in his arm and the power of his will. In an instant, one brutal mistake and a shattering wound took all he valued from him. But what if . . .Harald Sigurdsson fled his disgrace with a band of equally broken warriors still holding tight to his leadership. They ventured West, to Iceland, Greenland, into the darkness, to a land known only through legends and lies.A land with no need for a king, no room for a ruler. A land where a king could hope to become something more. This enthralling, thought-provoking story begins a thousand years ago on a battlefield outside York, England, and then moves across the North Atlantic to Iceland and beyond. Brent Olson’s biggest, boldest, and best book yet is a stunning work of alternative history. By moving the path of one arrow one inch, Olson has achieved an entire new script for the world. Tom Harrison is a new author who is about to release his first novel, From Punishment to Peace. Born and raised amidst the vibrant rhythms of Memphis, Tom's deep-rooted connection to the South shapes his unique storytelling style. Tom claims his soul is majestically linked to that of his hometown: its music, its people, its challenges, and its triumphs. As evidenced by its deep-rooted character and historical significance. In his debut work, based strongly on his own experiences, we are introduced to Tommy, a man who can't move on from his years in Memphis. Emotionally abused as a child, the successful businessman buries his need for healing beneath a jet-setting lifestyle. It is only after revealing conversations with his homeless, street-smart, and drug-dependent uncle that he is finally able to break his thirty-year spiral in search of peace. As they journey deep into the broken shards of their shared past, will the abuse they each suffered, the addictions they both carried, and the help they desperately desired finally be revealed?http://FromPunishmentToPeace.com The Douglas Coleman Show now offers audio and video promotional packages for music artists as well as video promotional packages for authors. Dr. Stephen Furlich; He is back to discuss another timely topic. Nonverbal communication, and the important role it can play at work, in a relationship, and in every aspect of our personal and professional lives.Do you ever wonder why you didn’t get the job or a promotion after an interview – or why a business phone call seemed to go so much better than an in-person meeting? When you are on a date or trying to convey a message to a friend, how do you ensure they are fully receiving your intentions correctly? It may come down not just to what you say – but what is communicated beyond words. A unique book, Nonverbal Epiphany: Steps to Improve Your Nonverbal Communication by Dr. Stephen A. Furlich, provides well-researched answers to these questions and reveals the subtle nonverbal behaviors that often go unnoticed but contribute heavily to the impression one makes.“The interconnectedness between biology and nonverbal communication is explored deeply here,” says Dr. Furlich, whose prior book was a best-seller, Sex Talk: How Biological Sex Influences Gender Communication Differences Throughout Life’s Stages.Readers will learn how to better notice and understand other people’s nonverbal behaviors. They will also learn how to better communicate with their nonverbal behaviors. From teens to senior citizens, anyone can learn to improve their personal and professional nonverbal communication skills. Some areas covered are gestures, facial expressions, vocal changes, colors, and measurement proportions to mention a few areas.https://www.drstephenfurlich.com/The Douglas Coleman Show now offers audio and video promotional packages for music artists as well as video promotional packages for authors. Harry Norman Turtledove is an American author who is best known for his work in the genres of alternate history, historical fiction, fantasy, science fiction, fantasy and mystery fiction. He’s a student of history and completed his PhD in Byzantine history. Turtledove published his first two novels, Wereblood and Werenight, in 1979 under the pseudonym "Eric G. Iverson". He later explained that his editor at Belmont Tower did not think that people would believe the author's real name was "Turtledove" and came up with something more Nordic. He continued to use "Iverson" until 1985. Turtledove won the Homer Award for Short Story in 1990 for Designated Hitter, the John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction in 1993 for The Guns of the South, and the Hugo Award for Novella in 1994 for Down in the Bottomlands. “Must and Shall was nominated for the 1996 Hugo Award and Nebula Award for Best Novelette and received an honorable mention for the 1995 Sidewise Award for Alternate History. Two Georges also received an honorable mention for the 1995 Sidewise Award for Alternate History.Publishers Weekly dubbed Turtledove "The Master of Alternate History". Within the genre, he is known for creating original alternate history scenarios, such as survival of the Byzantine Empire or an alien invasion during the middle of the Second World War. In addition, he has been credited with giving original treatment to alternate themes that had been dealt with by many others, such as the victory of the South in the American Civil War or the victor of Nazi German during the Second World War. His novels have been credited with bringing alternate history into the mainstream. His latest book, Wages of Sin is a terrifying tale about HIV spreading in the early sixteenth century. It poses the question: What if HIV started spreading in the early 1500s rather than the late 1900s? Without modern medicine, anybody who catches HIV is going to die.A patriarchal society reacts to this devastating disease in the only way it knows how: it sequesters women as much as possible, limiting contacts between the sexes except for married couples. While imperfect, such drastic actions do limit the spread of the disease.
