Has to talk secretly with her mother while giving an interview. That doesn't sound at all like a murderer trying to keep her parents' concocted story straight...

The only interviewer on Dateline that could break me would be Dennis Murphy. He's got that disappointed parent vibe down. My mom will tell you that's the only thing that gets to me when I'm trying to get away with something. 🤣

The "I blocked it out" stuff is nonsense. Most contemporary psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, etc will tell you that's not how it works for an adult, developed brain. I don't know what parts of her stories are true and which aren't for the most part, but that part is BS.

I think this jerk killed his wife and son, but I think it's hilarious that a detective says that a time of death is "an educated guess at best" when you know they'll hang their hat on a time of death and a tight timeline to convict someone tomorrow. It can't be both. Also, asking someone to defend themselves decades later after the state has destroyed the evidence after ruling it an accident shouldn't be allowed without very strong and verifiable scientific evidence, IMO.

I love how the father takes zero responsibility for their garbage parenting. I choose to listen to my children. All this man did was call his son a problem, troubled, bad, and sent him away. Punishment was always his game, and it's more proof that authoritative parenting is. not. it.
