Robert Powell, a founding Board member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies, has studied the UFO subject for 17 years. His work is encapsulated in UFOs: A Scientist Explains What We Know (And Don’t Know) which provides a scientific rationale for the reality of non-terrestrial craft that are intelligently controlled. Powell begins his book by familiarizing the reader with the history of UFOs and he identifies the more enigmatic and interesting UFO sightings. He examines the characteristics of these sightings that argue against a prosaic explanation: extreme acceleration, electromagnetic interference, bending light, no obvious propulsion mechanisms, and a lack of interaction with the atmosphere. Powell discusses the recent events that have caused our government to change the term from UFO to UAP. Kevin Randle was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, grew up in Denver, Colorado and entered the Army in Texas. He learned to fly helicopters, had a tour in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and then left active duty for college. He attended the University of Iowa and upon graduation was commissioned into the Air Force Reserve. Randle spent most of his Air Force career as an intelligence officer. In 1986, he was released into the inactive reserve. Randle became interested in UFOs as a teenager and continued his studies after joining the Army. He served as a field investigator for APRO, was one of the first to investigate cattle mutilations and was the first to report an alien abduction from inside a home. His most important work has been in the Roswell UFO crash case. With Don Schmitt he wrote UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL and THE TRUTH ABOUT THE UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL. He has also written THE ROSWELL ENCYCLOPEDIA. His other UFO books included PROJECT BLUEBOOK EXPOSED, A HISTORY OF UFO CRASHES, SCIENTIFIC UFOLOGY and THE ABDUCTION ENIGMA. Clas Svahn (born 1958) is chairman for Archives for the Unexplained (AFU) in Sweden. AFU was founded in 1973 and today spans over 6,500 square feet and 4,000 yards of shelf capacity. Svahn has been a professional journalist since 1978 and employed with Sweden’s largest newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, since 1990. He is international director for UFO-Sweden and has been investigating reports of alleged UFOs since 1974. William Puckett was employed as a meteorologist with the National Weather Service for 3 years and the Environmental Protection Agency for 27 years. He retired from government service in 2007. He is a professional member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS).Puckett has worked as a consultant for the “UFO Hunters” series for the History Channel and has appeared on two “UFO Hunters” episodes. He also appeared on an episode on the Science Channel’s Close Encounters series.” He also was a research associate with NARCAP (National Reporting Center for Anomalous Phenomena.) Cattle mutilation (also known as bovine excision and unexplained livestock death, or animal mutilation) is the killing and mutilation of cattle under unusual, usually bloodless circumstances. This phenomenon has been observed among wild animals as well. Worldwide, sheep, horses, goats, pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, bison, deer and elk have been reported mutilated with similar bloodless excisions; often an ear, eyeball, jaw flesh, tongue, lymph nodes, genitals and rectum are removed. Since the first reports of animal mutilations, various explanations have been offered, ranging from natural decomposition and normal predation to cults and secretive governmental and military agencies, to a range of speculations, including cryptid predators (like the chupacabra) and extraterrestrials. Mr. Randle is obsessed with Roswell. He's consumed by it. I've heard him say that he thinks what fell there is terrestrial and 5 minutes later give all the reasons why it was extraterrestrial. He's been ranting about this for 50 years. I've come to the conclusion that he's a whack job.
