CEO, Cherished Companions shares his thoughts on how the Recession will affect Home Care and the need for assistance from paid and non-paid caregivers (family or close friends). The need for home care is evidence based as aging adults prefer to remain in their home rather in care facility. As the state of Ohio moves to a homecare licensure program we must do a thorough and intensive look at who we have coming into the home to care for our loved ones.https://www.natlawreview.com/article/ohio-to-license-home-health-care-agencieshttps://www.cherishedagency.com/

With home health care, patients can get help managing their medications, meal prep, shopping assistance, as well as other daily tasks they can no longer do independently. THome care is noted to be less expensive as well as providing the elderly to adjust to their physical and or medical needs in the comfort of their home.https://www.cherishedagency.com/
Doug Wilber welcomes Mary and me (Karen) to share in the discussion as to what is your role as a caregiver. Not all caregivers provide the same services whether they are hired on or family and friends. Each individual brings their best to the center, that being the person who needs care, parent, spouse, sibling, child, etc. Family dynamics may change before, during, and after caregiving is no longer needed. If the focus is on the wants and needs of the person - you will be doing your best to transition them at this very sensitive time.As a caregiver, you are responsible for the health and well-being of someone who needs help with daily tasks and activities. The individual may need a caregiver because of an injury, mobility or memory issues, illnesses, or chronic conditions that make everyday chores more challenging. All podcasts are designed to assist and aid listeners to meet their challenges in life. We are here to support each other...Doug Wilber, CEO of Cherished Companions, and I talk about the lingering Pandemic and the SCIENTIFIC need to wear a mask. It is important that we understand the concept of mask-wearing, WE are preventing others from germs/the virus that we may be carrying unknowingly. Yes, we are all tired of this disease and the need to protect each other but it is essential until the majority of the herd (that is us) are vaccinated and the likelihood of getting deathly ill from the variant is minuscule. The CDC has revised the guidelines and recommends that when in a large indoor crowd or even in a large outdoor crowd to protect others from the possibility that you may be a carrier of what could be deadly to an unvaccinated individual.***This is not a political conversation***

Most people today share the opinion that they want to live their life out in their homes. Studies show that the more interaction we have in our lives the healthier we are. Doug Wilbur reintroduces us to Molly Patel who is an experienced nurse and a major part of the care team at Care Notes. With the widespread of the COVID19 virus, Molly shares the importance of wearing a face mask when providing home health care as well as when going out and practicing social distancing. Molly also demonstrates how to wash out hands and advises us that the virus can be 'killed' with soap and water, we do not have to use anti-bacterial soap, thirty seconds of washing our hands front, back to the wrist, and between the fingers is essential. We have an opportunity to lessen the spread of this disease!

Doug Wilber discusses how homecare during a health crisis may be beneficial for your loved one.
