The deadline for final rosters heading into the Rule 5 draft is November 15. We'll cover what Cubs players we think will be exposed to the draft, what players are most likely to be drafted, and who we think are the most intriguing prospects in the Cubs system.

It's that time of year again! Jimmy and Greg are back for an extra long episode of the Growing Cubs Podcast where they hand out seventeen awards ranging from Hitter of the Year to The Sean Barry Most Talked About Guy on the Podcast. They also begin the episode with some big news about the podcast.
The main event from this episode is Greg and Jimmy having some fun reviewing their season predictions from episode #92. But before they get into that, they take some time to talk Myrtle Beach and South Bend playoff baseball, Jared Young's MLB debut, and the newly released Arizona Fall League rosters.
Greg and Jimmy are back this week for a long episode of the Growing Cubs Podcast for you folks! First, the guys discuss the recent Cubs debut of Hayden Wesneski and where he fits into the Cubs rotation moving forward. Then, the guys discuss who is hot in the system, who they are looking forward to watching play next year, and the guys who are legit after they broke out this season.
Greg and Jimmy channel their inner Stephen A and Skip this week as they come to you guys with some pressing topics. They start off the show by discussing the difference between spike curves and sweeper sliders and why the Cubs might be pivoting on the pitching development side of things. Then they rank the members of the South Bend rotation - Devers, Hodge, Little, Gallardo, Schlaffer, Palencia, and Franklin. They wrap up the show with the biggest topic of all... will PCA make his way to Chicago in 2023?
We are back for another episode of the Growing Cubs Podcast! Greg and Jimmy take some time to discuss one of the best Myrtle Beach Pelican's season in recent memory, Brennen Davis back on the field, and the recent promotions of Javier Assad and Nicholas Padilla to the Chicago Cubs.
The guys had teased it long enough! After mentioning the Rule Five Draft crunch for nearly a full season, Greg and Jimmy make some predictions as to who the Cubs might protect on the 40-man roster this offseason. Before that, they try not to speculate about Miguel Amaya and Jordan Wicks injuries and spend a fair amount of time praising the work Marquee did with their new Top 25 list.
Greg and Jimmy are back in your ears after all of the trade deadline and draft craziness to give you folks an update on how the current Cubs minor league players are performing throughout the system. First, Greg and Jimmy discuss the new Marquee Sports Network show the Road to Wrigley, and then they highlight some of the players in each affiliate who have performed well in August.
Even though the Cubs weren't as active on the trade market as we expected them to be, there are still three newly acquired prospects to tell you about! After talking about the trade deadline fallout from the MLB team's perspective (2:30), Greg and Jimmy discuss Hayden Wesneski (14:45), Ben Brown (30:30), and Saul Gonzalez (47:25).
Believe it or not, this episode isn't entirely dedicated to the upcoming MLB trade deadline, although Greg and Jimmy spend the back half of the episode discussing who might get called up from Iowa to replace the traded Cubs players in the Majors. Before that, they dig into some news and notes including Brailyn Marquez undergoing surgery, Koen Moreno's debut, Luke Little's performance, and Owen Caissie and Yonathan Perlaza tearing it up at the plate.
Greg and Jimmy are back this week to discuss the top Cubs prospects! They go into detail about the prospects in the system who are hot in the month of July, recent promotions, and Miguel Amaya's first couple of games in AA Tennessee.
The title describes this one pretty well. The Cubs 2022 Draft class is complete and Greg and Jimmy took to the podcast to break down the entire thing. They start off the episode by giving their thoughts on the front office's draft strategy before talking about nearly every pick from #1 (Cade Horton) to #20 (Ke'Shun Collier).
In another specialty episode, Greg and Jimmy take a look at their personal midseason prospect Top 25 lists and answer each other's questions about why they ranked certain guys where. They start off at the top and work their way through until they explain why Brailyn Marquez didn't fall on either of their lists.
With the draft quickly approaching, Greg and Jimmy bring back Greg Zumach to discuss who the Cubs could be eyeing for the 7th pick in this years 2022 MLB draft. Greg Zumach then goes on to discuss the Cubs potential draft strategy, guys who are climbing up people's boards, and who the Cubs could be looking at during the later rounds of the draft.
It's time for another mailbag episode as listeners went above and beyond in sending in plenty of questions for Greg and Jimmy to answer on the show. The guys spend some time at the beginning of the show talking about the brilliance of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans playoff run (2:05) before digging into the questions. Once there, they chat about Matt Mervis (7:45), Cristian Hernandez (13:10), catchers of the system (25:45), DJ Herz (39:15), and Caleb Kilian (52:10).

Greg and Jimmy start their discussion with Kilian's recent start on June 4th against the Cardinals. Also, they talk about the recent news of Brennen Davis' recent back surgery and where that would put him on their prospect lists. They finish the episode talking about Yohendrick Pinango's recent power surge and debate which struggling prospect in the Cubs system they still believe in.
