What does the Constitution actually permit? And how much power should unelected organizations have?Rick closes with thoughts on the approaching midterms, political accountability, and why meaningful change starts locally.
With Election Day approaching, Rick Robinson examines a bigger question: Who controls the information influencing our elections and government?Catherine Herridge's reporting raises questions about intelligence assessments and China-related information during the 2020 election. Then Rick turns to Jack Smith's Arctic Frost investigation, Sen. Chuck Grassley's disclosures involving Republican donor information, and concerns about government surveillance and constitutional protections. This Finally Friday edition asks whether the institutions demanding our trust are earning it.
Six days before the midterms, Democrats are talking about a blue wave, Republicans are hoping for a low tide, and Rick Robinson has one question: How much can we really trust the polls?Rick compares the latest congressional polling with the 2018 midterms, examines the races in South Carolina and Maine, and digs into the difference between national sentiment and actual election results.Hour two turns to January 6 and FBI confidential human sources, a confrontation involving the Cuban delegation at the United Nations, the Federal Reserve's interest-rate decision, and Oklahoma's aluminum smelter controversy. There's also a look at Palmer Luckey's push for American-made computers—and a detour into Rolling Stone's questionable definition of rock music.Everybody has numbers. Nobody knows the outcome until the votes are counted.
Governors, constitutional change, and the people claiming to save democracy—Rick digs into Data Republican’s clips, then takes on the Hoffman/Epstein debate over campaign money and political double standards. Add court headlines, ICE claims, polling credibility, and chat trolls who picked the wrong Friday: First-responder and military tributes round out a show where the rails are optional.
Rick Robinson examines material highlighted by Data Republican and argues that the fight over government legitimacy reaches well beyond Election Day. He examines polling credibility, Michigan’s Senate race, Chuck Grassley’s allegations about collecting Republican supporter records, and Elissa Slotkin’s controversial deterrence remarks. Along the way: a rowdy Chat Lives Matter audience, disappearing bookmarks, and the question that ties it all together—who watches the watchers?
