As a topic that keeps resurfacing, we're replaying part of Episode 67, which focuses on workplace inconsistencies and how to reduce and eliminate them. Whether it's inconsistencies within the employee handbook, enforcement of policies and procedures, or inconsistency with getting work done at the time, quality, and attention expected and for the intended purpose—inconsistency unravels the fabric of relationships (professional and personal). Inconsistency causes a breakdown in trust. Trust is built on consistency. We share two real-life workplace examples of two employees facing work environments and managers who are inconsistent. In one scenario, we examine and address inconsistent training and policies. In a second scenario, we examine and address a manager's inconsistent nature and inconsistent follow-through, techniques, practices, and more. We share suggestions on how to handle these, similar, and other issues in your workplace. We address some management areas where senior leaders need to pay close attention, and we share a list of workplace "no-nos" where inconsistency rears its ugly head and bites you.SHOW INFORMATION: Company: Foreman & Associates, LLCWebsite: https://ForemanLLC.comIG: https://instagram.com/ForemanLLCPodcast IG: https://instagram.com/DontCallitSmallFB: https://facebook.com/ForemanAndAssociatesTwitter: https://twitter.com/ForemanLLCPodcast Twitter: https://twitter.com/ItAintSmallYouTube: https://youtube.com/user/ForemanAssociates HOST: Natasha L. There’s a difference between helping and enabling. We know it. We say it. But somehow, some way, we find ourselves in a trap, a big ole thorny pit called enablement. In today's episode, we're examining the difference between helping and enabling and how to set healthy boundaries and rules of engagement, to build healthier relationships with the people we want to see succeed and thrive. In this episode, we’re not going to speak about any specific behaviors, such as those associated with addiction and addicts. We’ll speak to you, the one who is doing the enabling. We’re focusing on you and your choices to enable the behavior. This isn't about shame or guilt. It's about us taking responsibility, being accountable for what we say and do, and holding others accountable.Let's discuss the hamster wheel you have created and keep it in motion. Let's talk about what happens when you stand in the gap and keep an adult from taking responsibility. This episode examines various examples of how this affects money management, household responsibilities, work duties, parenting, and more. When do you go from helper to enabler? We discuss that in this episode.Do you know there's love in the word "No," and sometimes there's more love in "No" than "Yes"? Listen in to hear how to lovingly say no and set healthy boundaries. Enabling leads to greater stress and anxiety, lower well-being, health issues, and toxic relationships. Enabling harms you and the person you think you're helping. Episode 84 also shares three businesses that we think you should support and share with your network. In this episode, we’re going to talk about why we should not live for others' approval and why we should stop living through them and think that our efforts can sustain or elevate them, thereby positioning us to live for them. Our life is ours. And yes, it can be our mission to serve others, to teach and uplift others, but it’s their mission to do whatever work is required of them, to do what they’re supposed to do. Our natural inclination to do this is tied to seeking approval from the parental and familial figures we were raised with, and it flowed into the relationships we had with our teachers and coaches, and wanting to gain their approval, acceptance, and be told that good, great, worthy, etc. But when do you start living for yourself? When do you start stamping yourself with your own stamp of approval? This episode explores motivations for goal attainment, gift-giving, philanthropy, and more. We discuss the traps of living vicariously through others and how parents can be the biggest obstacle in their child's life. We also discuss the conditions we keep placing on love and our relationships with the people we should protect. And we outline some suggestions from mental health professionals and life coaches with ways to stop living for others and living other people’s lives. We also shout out some hard-working, smart-working people and the companies they’ve built to bring you the products and services you desire.BUSINESS SHOUT-OUTSSHOUT-OUT #1 LAUNDRY JETHeadquartered in Oroville, CA, They’re revolutionizing how laundry is done.
