Description

Democracy-ish is a podcast dedicated to fighting for democracy and preserving your sanity in a time when both are under active assault by forces committed to white supremacy and stupidity. For far too long our body politic has been viewed through an all white prism that does not represent the multiracial nation that is the United States of America. Hosts Danielle Moodie and Wajahat Ali always keep it real, blunt and entertaining as they discuss how we can achieve a multiracial democracy and cover all the ground left behind by mainstream media and seek to make sense out of the nonsense.

"if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound?!" If a genocide persists and every person that speaks out is silenced will the killing persist?! For both the answer is yes. What we need to be reminded of in moments like these is that our power is in our collective voice and truth. How we stand up for one another, how we speak out, matters. Nothing says authenticity like a breathless Senator Kitchen Katie trying her damndest to scare the hell out of white women in America with her lies. This is not a normal election and the media and frankly the Biden Administration needs to stop treating it like such. On this week's democracyish Danielle and Wajahat breakdown all the ways that Dimon's statement is not only wrong but telling about how white billionaires will do anything and say anything to protect their ass(ets) and why this statement should be a major red flag for anyone paying attention to who has Trump's back.  Hosts: Danielle Moodie & Wajahat Ali Executive Producer: Adell Coleman Senior Producer: Quinton Hill Distributor: DCP Entertainment Hosted on Acast. Sure, we are 11 months out from the election but the chatter about not voting and sitting this one out seems to be growing. I've said goodbye to Pod Save America for this main stream bs, why would this be different. I'm having a hard time listening to this, more and more ongoing. Check out independent media for actual facts on Warren flipping on various issues, on and on. People SEE THAT. it's NOT about her gender. You've got to stop watching msnbc and spreading msm bs further. I'm getting wokeaf from your wokeaf... :(

Not sure how Toure can make a claim for Sherrod Brown being from Ohio but not Nina Turner. Also, Biden was Obama's VP to bring Foreign Policy experience to the ticket and Pence was brought on to get the white Evangelicals.

"it could have been you" is generally applicable to all humans able or not able to find compassion for others. Not just % of certain gender and color. How sad we can't all feel it could've been us any time a black person is murdered by a cop, or a child is placed into a cage, or a kurd is kicked out of the land their family lives on, or someone becomes homeless or.... It can always be any of us, friends.

Hello, I just found out about this podcast and I'm glad its here because it's good for youger black people to have a voice in politics 😁 I want to ask you how you feel about Andrew Yang? I've been watching a ton of his interviews and I am now a supporter. I left the democratic party and became an Independent for now until its time to vote again, since I live in Maryland. Also, why is it that it's starting to feel like 2016 when Hillary Clinton was shove down our throats. I was a Bernie Sanders supporter back then in the primary's but later voted for Hillary to win even though I knew she would lose. Just so you know, I'm a 40 year old black woman working as a city letter carrier born and raised in D.C. and a long time fan since MTV. ✌🏾💜💪🏾
