After another long hiatus (we're going to stop those, we promise!), we are back with another episode! This week, we sat down in our new recording studio/office to talk about our lack of long-term vision as a species. We discuss whether or not we can overcome this, as well as if younger generations are more plagued by short-term thinking. Slow Burn by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4372-slow-burn License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Thank you so much for listening, take good care and we'll talk to you soon!
After another short hiatus (we're somehow busy right now?) we are back and discussing how millennial and Gen Z voices have been amplified en masse in the past few months, but also look at how society may be wanting to give youth a seat at the big kids table. We also discuss how some institutions are really screwing the pooch on this front and when youth should (and shouldn't) be valued over other assets. Our intro and outro song is Slow Burn by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4372-slow-burn License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ We hope you have a fantastic day, thanks for listening :)
After a short hiatus, we are back and dip into our self-help podcasting suits to talk about how hard it is to predict the future, how that hasn't really changed from generation to generation even though things like social media and general media may make it seem like it has changed. We also talk about how sometimes the future is not as fun as you think it is going to be. We have a new intro and outro (let us know what you think): Slow Burn by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4372-slow-burn License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Thanks so much for listening, take good care, and we'll talk soon :)
Today we sat down (in the same location, socially distanced) to talk about Universities and the fallout that an online fall semester will have on not just universities, but the cities that surround them. We also touch on the points of COVID distractions, what we really need to be talking about and the future that is being paved. The intro and outro music is Can't Stop My Feet by Royalty Free Music. Thank you so much for listening, take care and talk to you soon :)
We sat down for our third episode while socially distanced to check in on our thoughts about Remote Work and its popularity moving forward, especially since people's true feelings and attitudes towards it are being revealed. We also question if basic stereotypes about generations are being brought to the brink by the actions happening due to COVID-19. This is our best audio remotely so far, and we hope to reunite to record together live very soon. Our intro and outro music is Can't Stop My Feet by Royalty Free Music. Thanks for listening and Stay Safe!
This week we sat down to talk about what we think is going to happen as economies gradually re-open and how fear versus cageiness may play out. We also chat on the difficulties trying to figure out how everything should be fine tuned when it comes to re-opening and our own cageiness in recent times. Our intro and outro song is Can't Stop My Feet by Loyalty Free Music. Thank you so much for listening and take gentle care!
Hi everyone, hope this finds you all happy and healthy. It's been a while, and our other episode 25 was a little out of date so we recorded this one instead (while practising social distancing, which I'm sure you can hear in Jonah's audio). We talk about how our lives have changed as well as how we think the world is going to be changed when this is all said and done. We should hopefully be back on a weekly cycle and will continue to work to improve the audio. Thank you for listening and take good care :)
We recorded this a few weeks back, so our talks about the Coronavirus are much breezier and nonchalant then they would be if we were discussing it now (and a podcast where we discuss it more seriously is coming soon). Anyway, this week we sat down to talk Reality TV, which seems to be making a resurgence on streaming platforms and in general, especially amongst millennials and Gen X'ers. We talk about the future of Reality TV and how inescapable it has become for contestants, and also have a fun little discussion on A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. Our intro and outro music is Can't Stop My Feet by Royalty Free Music, thanks for listening :)
This week we sat down and discussed the common enemy of all generations: Generation Alpha. We talk about why they will likely be better than us in every way and also throw out a couple of arguments as to why they may suck. Our intro and outro music is Can't Stop My Feet by Royalty Free Music. Hope everyone is washing their hands, not touching their face and buying loads of toilet paper!! And thank you for listening :)
Today we look at how millennials and Gen Z's are changing the gambling marketplace, but also the potential that they are getting addicted, and actually "legally" gambling much younger. We also talk about physical casinos and our experiences in them. There's also a dash of sports betting and horse racing, so a variety of fun games to be played!! Our intro and outro music is Can't Stop My Feet by Loyalty Free Music. Thanks for listening :)
We sat down to discuss religion, spiritualism and general beliefs millennials hold. We also discuss how traditional church and beliefs are going to the wayside, and how religion is advertising itself to gain new, younger members, with newer, more progressive ideas. Our intro/outro music is Can't Stop My Feet by Royalty Free Music. Thanks so much for listening :)
This week we sat down to talk about how older generations aren't as technically inept as they once seemed to be, but may have also simply mastered a dead platform. That's right, we're talking about Facebook and who's using it and why. We also talk about the rise of Snapchat, Instagram and most recently, TikTok! Our intro and outro music is Can't Stop My Feet by Royalty Free Music, hope you enjoy :)
This week we sat down and talked about something that millennials are apparently doing right, bringing back small towns. We talk about the appeal to them for all generations, along with our own personal experiences of living in a small town. Unforunately, this episode got cut a bit short and we don't know why, but episode 7 will be posted shortly to make up for it. Our intro and outro music are different parts of the song Can't Stop My Feet from Roller Disco Dance Party by Loyalty Free Music. Hope you enjoy!
This week we sat down to discuss our adventures of going out on the town and how millennials are moving towards restaurants and pubs as opposed to bars and nightclubs. We also discuss what we think nightclubs have to do to survive. We've listened to your feedback and added some intro and outro music, along with our "test" intro as an end funny bit, let us know what you think! The intro and outro music are from different parts of the song Can't Stop My Feet from Royalty Free Music's album ROLLER DISCO DANCE PARTY! Hope this episode makes you party.
Jonah and Jenna sit down to talk about the differences in content, mediums, messages and values in communication between generations. We try to find common ground in how communication should work.
