Description

Nature vs Narcissism is a true crime/comedy podcast based in Cincinnati, Ohio where Heather and her guests discuss true crimes and the narcissists who commit them. Sometimes we have alcohol and sometimes things get weird. Relaunching on our 4th PodBirthday (Oct 22, 2021), the structure changed a lot. Every episode is different and every episode is entertaining! We will delve into whether we think nature made the criminals commit these heinous acts, or if it's simply their narcissism getting the best of them. Keep in mind, this podcast is strictly for entertainment purposes and is in no way a professional diagnosis of the subjects discussed.

Born as Richard Benjamin Speck, on December 6, 1941 in Kirkwood, IL; he is known for murdering 8 female students who lived together on the south side of Chicago. But that wasn’t the beginning of his crimes. As we’ve seen with all other cases; this was escalated behavior. Prior to these murders, he had been responsible for other acts of violence against his family and others. Additionally, Speck was pretty good at escaping the police…until he wasn’t. His talent ran out in 1966, after his killing spree, when he was captured two days later. For this episode, I tried to stick to the dates and the facts that we knew about him/his criminal life. In part 2, we will delve more into our thoughts about his upbringing, his behavior, and his mental state whilst committing his crimes. So, join us tomorrow for Part 2 - where Brittany (from Where the Weird Things Are Podcast and I will do a deep dive discussion about the case, the people involved, our thoughts regarding nature vs nurture, and much more. To this day the most terrifying individual I've ever heard of. His MO (or lack there of) chills me to the bone and I cannot unsee the picture of Amanda Koenig :(

Katherine Knight is a very evil woman who needs to be put down. On a side note, you guys got to stop it with the belittling of American's. Australia is not better nor do they have tougher prisons than the U.S.

I disagree with the commentators that all kids who murder should be given a 2nd chance as they're kids who are just plain evil and no amount of rehabilitation can help them. I'm for an eye for an eye in cut and dry murder cases.
