PJ Media’s Lincoln Brown joins Kira to discuss the recent shocking school bus bully incidents and how race may or may not apply. Can we talk about race in a productive way, or is it just too late for that? A sort-of awkward but mostly fascinating conversation you’ll want to hear.
Kira thinks through the pros and cons of Black History Month and why it may or may not be as important to American progress anymore. Think through history with Kira this week.
Charles Follis: First Black Professional Football Player
This week Kira takes on the AP African-American studies curriculum that was rejected by the FL board of education. NO EXCUSES. Pick through the whole thing here, be informed and form your opinions from a position of information instead of bias.https://www.theflstandard.com/exclusive-rejected-african-american-studies-course-in-florida-features-crt-intersectionality-and-queer-theory/
Jessica Tapia was fired from her position as a PE teacher in the Jurupa Valley School District after students dug through her personal social media and reported her Christian beliefs to the school district. Tapia was eventually let go for refusing to lie to parents about the gender identity of their students and refusing to allow boys into girls locker room spaces. Tapia talks to Kira about her experience, her pending law suit and why she’s standing up for parents and truth, at the cost of her livelihood.https://www.instagram.com/reel/CoVEI07gRuN/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Kira breaks down the shocking police brutality case of Tyre Nichols. What happened? How could it happen? Who is to blame?
Adam B. Coleman of Wrongspeak joins Kira to talk about his recent NY Post article and how the “white supremacy” label has become a convenient catch-all boogieman for anything the progressive left doesn’t like.https://nypost.com/2023/01/18/democrats-latest-attempt-to-use-a-white-supremacy-scare-to-crush-their-opposition/
Twitter files show a disturbing coercive relationship between the FBI, Twitter and media companies. How should the relationship between government and free press work in a healthy society?
Jennifer Sey was one of the most successful women in corporate America. The Levi’s Brand President was on track for CEO, but this San Francisco liberal was forced out of her job for daring to question COVID lockdowns and school closures on her social media. Soon she was a pariah. Sey gave up a million dollar payout with an NDA to tell her story to the world. To tell the truth. Don’t miss this confounding and inspiring story as Jennifer joins the show to discuss her book ‘Levi’s Unbuttoned’https://www.amazon.com/Levis-Unbuttoned-Woke-Took-Voice/dp/1958682241/ref=sr_1_1?crid=131D5F2PXT06Q&keywords=levis+unbuttoned+in+books&qid=1673588548&sprefix=levis+unb%2Caps%2C307&sr=8-1
I'm Just Sayin - It's Okay to Need a Man
After hearing about a south side Chicago community that is protesting a migrant shelter being placed in their neighborhood, Kira explores the question- where should we house illegal immigrants and who should be responsible for them? There may not be any good answers, but we’ll ask the questions anyway.
Kira runs down the words she’s most sick of hearing in 2022. Let’s leave them on the dance floor with the rest of the New Year’s Eve confetti.

Merry Christmas! Enjoy these highlights as we look back at the best of JLTY!
Kira breaks down the “Drag Queen Story Hour” controversy that has become a movement. Why? What is the purpose and how did it originate? Why are we all talking about this at this point in history? The JLTY audience is invited to think it through with curiosity and reason.
Kira welcomes PJ Media writer Lincoln Brown to the show to discuss his most recent article on an interesting topic that has bubbled up, presenting Jesus Christ as a transgender savior. Where does this idea come from and why? Is there historical context? A thoughtful discussion that doesn’t go exactly where you think it might.https://pjmedia.com/culture/li...
Kira and Producer Darvio celebrate 200 episodes and chat about their favorite episodes, guests and why this show has found a faithful audience. Thank you to our friends and listeners! Here’s to another 200 shows!

Amen Kira. We each decide how to react. I recognize that some people may have a reaction of hatred or fear but it should be a feeling of “look what we’ve overcome” and “look how far we’ve come.“

thank you so much! have a couple thoughts. 1. Prager only feels it's bad to be forbidden to use the word when quoting someone. I'm not familiar with the specific clip, but I do know from past comments he's made about this topic. 2. I'd like to hear you thoughts on Huck Finn. it's often banned or sanitized b/c of the flagrant use of the n word. but I always felt that using the n word about the only decent and truely good person in the book, Jim, made a powerful statement about how stupid and ugly racism is. in other words, the use of the n word is a comment on the racists and slave holders not on Jim.

This was a very informative and frankly horrifying podcast. I need to think more about gentrification, cause I always kind of shrugged it off as a non-issue. Thx!

She seems to get the concept of monopoly slightly wrong. I remember hearing that when Ma Bell was broken up, the phones didn't work right for years. I'm too young to know for real, but it sounds right. Just because someone is the only game in town doesn't mean they're sloppy and corrupt. They may honestly want to provide something for people, just to provide it, and they do it well.

So good! I agree that we can't subjectively determine someone's value, or decide their life or death from a percieved struggle they may face. The Constitution guarantees protection and personhood based on our humanness alone. A life is a life ;)

Great perspective and insight! I agree, you can't be personally pro-life but pro-choice. We wouldn't allow ourselves that position on other similar issues, not consistent, and not genuine. If ending a life is wrong for you, it's wrong for everyone. A life is a life 👍
