Today's experience is from someone incredibly special in my life. One of my very close childhood friends who I've known for over 20 years now, Harsha. Harsha lives in Dubai and has built a wonderful life for herself. However, as wonderful as her life and school years were, Harsha has had to deal with a physical attribute that made her stand out among our peers.  Sometimes in ways that hurt. This is her story of living and dealing with scoliosis.
Today's episode, we will revisit my chat with my friend Melissa and will dive into the second part of her experience. In Part 1, she spoke openly about the struggles she faced with depression and raising her rebellious teen daughter V, who was struggling with her own mental health issues, unknown to Melissa at that time. We ended the last episode with Melissa finding out that  V was pregnant and she wanted to once again move out from her mother’s home and get her own place with her boyfriend to raise her baby. Melissa’s story today cover’s extremely sensitive topics such as Postpartum depression, Child Abuse, dealing with Foster care situations and navigating the convoluted Red Tape of  Children's Aid Society in Ontario or, CAS. This experience and content is very heavy and may be difficult to hear. For some, it may trigger painful emotions. Listener discretion is Advised.
This is the tough experience of my next guest, Melissa, who has so bravely shared with us, some of the most difficult and stressful times that a woman and a mother can go through. Melissa's story today is about the hardship she's faced dealing with a rebellious teen, the pain of watching her child make one mistake after another,  and the anguish of feeling helpless while this happens. This experience and content is quite heavy and may be difficult to hear. For some, it may trigger painful emotions. Listener discretion is advised.

Have you heard of the Butterfly Effect? Not the Movie or the Song, but the actual theory. Wikipedia has a short paragraph of long words. In essence; the Butterfly effect explains that small actions today can have a phenomenal effect tomorrow. What if you knew what effect a small decision you made today, would have 25 years from now? Today I’d like to dedicate this episode to a wonderful woman in my life as a tribute to all her struggles and extraordinary life experiences. This story is an excellent example of how the seemingly small decision she made, was still so difficult, yet had an amazing butterfly effect for her future generations.

We consider ourselves citizens of a Modern world, with a modern outlook and modern lifestyle choices. Outdated ideas on fashion and lifestyle choices for women have no place in today’s world. Or... that’s what we all hope for at least. But, sometimes, the modern world fails us, and there are those who feel like they’ve been thrown back into those Dark Ages, where just being themselves is considered Taboo. Those who feel this most are the LGBTQ community. This is the story of Suzanne, a 24 year old Bi-sexual woman, who lives in a society that frowns upon women (& men) who are open and true to thier own sexual orientation.
With all the medical advancements we’ve made in the last decade alone, people wonder why we don’t have a cure for cancer yet. According to an article published by the Canadian Cancer Society, curing cancer isn’t easy.  Why? … Because Cancer is more than 100 diseases, and each of these are divided into several types & subtypes. Cancer research alone, is also a slow, intricate and step-by-step process that involves collecting and analyzing several pieces of information.  What looks very promising in a lab doesn’t always work with people. Yet, there are many among us who face this natural enemy head on and were able to come out victorious.  Today I’m going to share with you the extraordinary life experience of one of them, my good friend, Hanosha... and her battle with Cancer.   CREDITS: https://www.cancer.ca/en/cancer-information/cancer-101/cancer-research/?region=on
