IN THIS EPISODE: A man calling himself Roland T. Owen checked into room 1046 of the Hotel President in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 2, 1935. In just two days' time, he would be dead. But no one knows who killed him, and it has become one of history’s most popular mysteries – The Mystery of Room 1046. (The Mystery of Room 1046) *** Ghosts are spooky – but zombies are even worse. But what if you came across a ghost zombie? That’s exactly the terror Scandinavian Vikings had to deal with! (Ghost Zombie of the Vikings) *** Can you raise someone in a way to create a phobia within them? Sure, that would be cruel and inhumane to do – but is it possible? That’s what a couple of behaviorists wanted to find out… and so they went about studying on it by experimenting on a tiny child. (The Little Albert Experiment) *** Did a woman accidentally kill her husband because of a Bugs Bunny cartoon… or was it murder? It’s the bizarre case of Linda Duffey Gwozdz. (The Looney Tunes Murderess) *** "The voice sounded close, yet at the same time, so far away. It was the most pitiful and horrifying cry I had ever heard." That’s how a seasoned paranormal investigator described what they heard in an abandoned asylum. (A Ghost Encounter In a Forsaken Asylum) *** We’ll also take a look at a few asylums that are said to be so creepy, so haunted, that you would never want to be locked in there – day or night. (Five Haunted Asylums) *** If you’re a fan of the movie “Ferris Bueler’s Day Off” you might remember the “Sausage King of Chicago” scene. That person was fictional of course, and the title was played for laughs. But have you ever heard of the Sausage Ghost of Chicago? That too may sound like it was made-up for laughs – but no, the Sausage Ghost of Chicago is a story that is all too true. (They Sold Their Haunted Houses) *** The Nazca Lines of Peru span for miles and are visible only from the sky. These mysterious designs have sparked theories ranging from astronomical markers to extraterrestrial landing strips, challenging our understanding of ancient civilizations. We’ll look at the mystery behind them – and consider a few theories for their existence. (Mystery of the Nazca Lines) *** Armin Meiwes placed a personal ad for a volunteer. He was looking for someone to give themselves over to him… to eat. It’s one of the most infamous cases of modern cannibalism. (The Cannibal Who Placed a Personal Ad) *** On May 28, 1903, Dr. Francis J. Tumblety, a man with a deep-seated hatred for women and surgical skills, died in St. Louis. Intriguingly, Tumblety was in London during the gruesome Jack the Ripper murders in 1888, sparking speculation that he might be the infamous slasher. (Was Jack The Ripper From St. Louis?) *** Imagine a duel between two women. One a princess, the other a countess. Now picture them dueling topless. It really happened… and the reason for the duel? THE TRUE CASE THIS STORY IS BASED ON: On the morning of November 23rd, 2014, Andre Pugh returned home from his overnight shift to an unsettling scene. His Atlanta, Georgia, house was eerily quiet, and the usually secured side gate was open. Inside, he found his wife, Tiffany, unresponsive in the guest bedroom. Unable to wake her, he called 911, convinced something terrible had happened. Police arrived to find Andre in a frantic state outside the house. After securing his daughter Jasmine, officers discovered Tiffany and the couple's two-year-old son, AJ, in the guest bedroom. Tiffany had been shot and killed, with AJ heartbreakingly trying to wake her up. As detectives began piecing together the crime, they uncovered disturbing details. The house showed no signs of a burglary, leading them to suspect a targeted attack. Their investigation took a significant turn when they realized that Andre's knowledge of the break-in details didn't add up, raising suspicions about his involvement. Further scrutiny revealed a tumultuous marriage, financial dependency on Tiffany, and a potential motive rooted in Andre's desire to maintain his lifestyle. Ultimately, evidence pointed to Andre and his best friend, Adrian Harley, as conspirators in Tiffany's murder. Both were convicted and sentenced to life without parole, leaving their families and the community shattered and still questioning how it could have happened. SOURCES…Crime Zone: https://youtu.be/BBJsX_L4Pe8?si=0EXYY1sJkCIY0le5Murder Noir music provided by Alibi Music Library. = = = = =(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. (One-Legged Female Vampire) *** Eight women were mysteriously murdered in Jennings, Louisiana from 2005-2009 and as the investigation progressed, the small town's dark secrets began to unravel. (The Jeff Davis 8) *** In 1924, five prospectors abandoned their site in a panic after what they described as a horrible, terrifying night-long battle against some strange, violent Sasquatch-like creatures, barely making it out alive. (The Mountain Devils of Ape Canyon) *** When Father Rocco Facchini was given his first parish as a young priest in Chicago, he was excited and anxious to spread the gospel to anyone who would listen in the Windy City. But after hearing about some haunted college campuses, you might choose to change your mind about your chosen universities… or change your major to parapsychology. IN THIS EPISODE: Accounts of haunted lighthouses have existed for hundreds of years. To many they are considered to be isolated and romantic. Some lighthouses are possibly haunted due to tragedies from shipwrecks or other horrors that have spawned all sorts of lighthouse lore. Some who have spent the night at a haunted lighthouse come away with stories to share such as seeing a former lighthouse keeper, or resident of the keeper's home. Could they still be present in some form after their death? Could keepers possibly remain behind to make sure no further tragedies occur at sea? Perhaps the worst fear of a lighthouse keeper, a ship wrecked upon the rocks, is why some lighthouses continue to be haunted by their former captains. Lights turning on, movement of objects, disembodied voices, and see-through specters are often reported within, or around older lighthouses. Are the ghosts of these souls still on duty? Modern-day tragedies at sea still occur and so do the ghosts that eventually haunt our world. If their walls could talk, lighthouses could share many stories from the past. Unfortunately, these objects don’t have the ability to tell their tales – but the phantoms that haunt them just might.YOUTUBE CHAPTERS & TIME STAMPS…00:00:00.000 = Show Open00:03:48.724 = The Haunting Hour, “Case of the Lonesome Corpse” (year unknown)00:32:34.446 = Weird Darkness, “Owl’s Head Lighthouse”00:37:09.463 = The Hermit’s Cave, “The Story Without An End’ (year unknown)01:02:16.472 = Weird Darkness, “The Tybee Lighthouse”01:04:37.900 = Mystery House, “Malice in Wonderland” (September 09, 1945)01:30:17.386 = Weird Darkness, “Currituck Beach Light House” and “The Presque Isle Lighthouse”01:36:55.408 = I Love A Mystery, “Eight Kinds of Murder” (June 30, 1941)02:07:23.285 = Weird Darkness, “Seul Choix Point Lighthouse” and “New London Ledge Lighthouse”02:13:00.950 = Incredible But True, “The Man Who Walked Behind” (year unknown)02:17:26.195 = Weird Darkness, “Point Lookout ”/“Heceta Head ”/“Seguin Island ” Lighthouses02:28:56.649 = Inner Sanctum, “Amazing Death of Mrs Putnam” (January 07, 1941)02:55:46.008 = Weird Darkness, “Fairport Harbor” / “White River” / “Big Bay Point Light” / “Plymouth” / “Battery Point” Lighthouses03:07:51.294 = The Key, “Alexis” (year unknown)03:35:23.602 = Weird Darkness, “Saint Augustine” / “Point Sur” / “St. Simon’s Island” Lighthouses03:45:49.739 = Lights Out, “Uninhabited” (December 22, 1937)SOURCES AND REFERENCES FROM THE EPISODE…“St. Augustine’s Haunted Lighthouse” by Jessica Ferri: http://bit.ly/2ZF0e6N“The Confederate Dead of Point Lookout Lighthouse” by Adam Karlin: http://bit.ly/2zpkmeb“Haunted Lighthouses” posted at AngelsGhosts.com: http://bit.ly/2ZsBJFD“Scariest Lighthouses Built In The United States” by Chelsey Dagner: http://bit.ly/2LcXc03Weird Darkness theme by Alibi Music Library. = = = = =(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. THE TRUE CASE THIS STORY IS BASED ON: Red wine, ice cream, and a warm bath are usually ways to unwind after a long day, but in the twisted mind of John George Haigh, they became tools of terror. Born in 1909 in Yorkshire, England, Haigh was raised in a strict, ultra-religious household. His early years were marked by loneliness and nightmares, which foreshadowed his later descent into crime. After a failed marriage and several stints in jail for fraud, Haigh devised a gruesome method to dispose of his victims: sulfuric acid baths. His first known victim was his former employer, William McSwan, whom Haigh murdered and dissolved in acid. He then turned to McSwan's parents, eliminating them in the same manner to gain access to their wealth. Haigh continued his deadly spree, targeting wealthy acquaintances like Dr. Archibald Henderson and his wife, Rose, in 1948. His final victim, Olive Durand-Deacon, a wealthy widow, led to his downfall when detectives linked her disappearance to Haigh. Investigators found incriminating evidence in his workshop, including remains that survived the acid baths. Despite Haigh's claims of insanity driven by recurring nightmares, the court found him guilty on all counts. In August 1949, Haigh, known as the Acid Bath Murderer, was executed, his dark imagination and horrific crimes coming to a fitting end.SOURCES…Steven Casale, The-Line-Up.com: https://the-line-up.com/acid-bath-murderer-john-haighMurder Noir music provided by Alibi Music Library. = = = = =(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. IN THIS EPISODE: A man and his family experience strange and terrifying events in their home located next to a meteor crater. (I’ve Never Told My Story) *** Part bat. Part Bigfoot. What has been unfortunately named “Batsquatch” sounds like a B-list villain in a DC comic taking on the Caped Crusader, but for some who live in Washington state near Mt. St. Helens, it’s not imaginary at all. (Bizarre Encounters With Batsquatch) *** If you mention gnomes to someone, most think of those tiny ceramic or concrete figurines people place in gardens or on their front doorstep to greet visitors. But in a certain portion of England, if you mention gnomes – you get the real thing. (The Mysterious Gnomes of Wollaton Park) *** But first, we go back to a normal, sunny Tuesday morning many years ago – when the world changed forever after a terrorist attack on the U.S., left families in despair, a country in fear, and spirits of those lost still wandering ground zero to this day. The Bermuda Triangle, also called the Devil's Triangle, is a famous part of the ocean where many ships and planes have mysteriously disappeared. Located between Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and the tip of Florida, this area has puzzled people for over 100 years. From the spooky disappearance of the USS Cyclops with 306 crew members in 1918 to the more recent sinking of the SS El Faro in 2015, the Bermuda Triangle becomes more mysterious year after year. Tonight we’ll look at some of the strangest events in the Triangle, like Flight 19, which vanished during a routine training mission; and the Witchcraft, a boat that disappeared just minutes after calling for help. We'll explore different ideas about why these things happen, from natural explanations like methane gas bubbles to wild theories like alien abductions. We’ll look at other locations around the world similar to the Bermuda Triangle that don’t get the same recognition – but are just as mysterious. And while we’re in the water, we’ll touch on a few ocean ghost stories, and reports of sea monsters. So before we get started, if you tend to get sea sick, you might want to grab your Dramamine.SOURCES AND REFERENCES FROM THE EPISODE…Bermuda Triangle sources: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/6sw5aj4j, https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/3mf3vvw6Vile Vortices source: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/2p8fhp3bOcean Ghost Stories source: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/rmhs277yMonsters Beneath The Waves source: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/596estzu,Weird Darkness theme by Alibi Music Library. = = = = =(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. THE TRUE CASE THIS STORY IS BASED ON: In the summer of 1974, Provincetown, MA, was shaken by the discovery of a woman's body near one of its famous beaches. Nicknamed "The Lady of the Dunes," her identity remained a mystery for nearly fifty years. Police found her with crushed skull, missing hands, and removed teeth, likely to prevent identification. The case sparked numerous theories, including possible connections to a serial killer or a background role in the movie Jaws. Despite exhaustive efforts and multiple exhumations, no definitive leads emerged for decades. In October 2022, the FBI finally identified the Lady of the Dunes as Ruth Marie Terry through investigative genealogy. A year later, authorities named her husband, Guy Rockwell Muldavin, as her killer. Muldavin, who had a history of violence and was suspected in other deaths, had died in 2002, leaving many questions unanswered. The identification of Terry and the resolution of the case brought some closure to a mystery that had haunted the Cape Cod community for decades.SOURCES…Jim Rowley for Unspeakable Crimes (Ranker): https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/33cjkhscMurder Noir music provided by Alibi Music Library. = = = = =(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. Watch the VIDEO or read the article: https://weirddarkness.com/apophis-is-coming-mindofmarlar/Back in 2004 scientists looking through a telescope in Arizona found something scary. They found ink rings around their eyes from their prankster co-worker coating the eyepiece with black ink. Once they cleaned themselves up and locked that office clown in a giant beaker, they looked through the telescope again and found something even more scary… in space. You might call it the Death Star, but I won’t because I don’t want to be sued by Disney lawyers. Perhaps that’s why scientists named this giant rock Apophis...

THE TRUE CASE THIS STORY IS BASED ON: Arthur Upfield is one of Australia's lesser-known writers, but he has a loyal group of readers who love his stories, especially those featuring Detective Napoleon "Bony" Bonaparte. Upfield's books blend Australian culture and landscapes with intriguing mysteries. While working as a boundary rider for the Western Australian government, Upfield maintained the Rabbit-proof fence, a long barrier built to keep rabbits out of farmland. During this time, he struggled to think of a way to make a body disappear without leaving a trace for his new detective novel. His friend George Ritchie suggested burning the body and sifting the ashes to remove any evidence. Months later, three men went missing, and the police discovered that one of them, "Snowy" Rowles, had used Ritchie's method to dispose of the bodies. They found clues in the ashes, like bones and a wedding ring, leading to Rowles' capture. Upfield used this real-life case to write "The Sands of Windee," where his character Bony solves a similar mystery. This book, along with his others, earned Upfield recognition and established him as a significant figure in Australian mystery literature.SOURCES…Kaushik Patowary at AmusingPlanet.com: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/2u6m24y8Murder Noir music provided by Alibi Music Library. = = = = =(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. IN THIS EPISODE: Succubi are female-appearing sexual demons that approach men in a variety of ways, usually while they are sleeping, then seduce them. Often men report that their experiences with succubi are positive and enjoyable, but just as often, they report that the pleasure had a thread of something evil running through it… and that thread leads to utter destruction. (The Deadly Allure of the Succubus) *** And the woman you are living with right now – your own wife or girlfriend – is it possible she is a succubus? We’ll look a bit deeper into the signs of a succubus so you can be aware and on alert! (Is My Girlfriend a Sex Demon?) *** In recent years, stories of personal encounters with shadow people have flooded the Internet. So much so, that a subcategory of Reddit was created solely for those who have experienced a shadow person and wish to share their story. We’ll share some of those reports. (Real Life Encounters With Shadow People) *** Many towns have tales of an old woman who might be a witch of some kind. Warrington, England had its own local, evil crone. She was known as Old Peggy Gronach and was described as being “evil, ugly and haggard.” But was she truly a witch? Many people thought so! IN THIS EPISODE: Reports have been coming in for decades of hairy creatures in Texas something like a bipedal wolf, or maybe a Sasquatch. Other reports have the creature with no hair at all. (Hairy Humanoids of Texas) *** n October of 1973, two fisherman reported seeing a space ship – and two extraterrestrials emerge from the craft when it hovered near the ground. If you’re normal, probably not – unless you’re a huge sci-fi film fan and just thought about “2001: A Space Odyssey” when I mentioned the word “monolith.” Yeah – that big black rectangular thing the apemen found is a monolith. But like I said, that’s sci-fi. But now they are becoming sci-non-fi, that is science-non-fiction… meaning… real. These strange metal structures have been suddenly popping up all over the world the last few years, leaving people scratching their heads in confusion...
