On June 3rd, 1985, in Summerfield, North Carolina, police watched in horror as a Chevy Blazer full of passengers exploded on NC150 right before their eyes. There were no survivors. Within minutes, the dark clouds hovering in the sky let loose, dumping rain and hail on the grotesque scene. “It was like the Lord was mad,” one officer said later. “Like He was real mad. I mean, really pissed off.” In the Blazer was Susie Newsome Lynch, her first cousin and lover Fritz Klenner, and Susie's young sons, John and James. The events that led to this tragic moment are drenched in deep-seated resentment, paranoia, fear, obsession, and hatred. By the time the carnage was over, nine people had died, three officers were wounded, three families were left in ruins, and those who survived were devastated. It left everybody scratching their heads and asking, “Why?”Join Jen and Cam while they discuss the wild case "Killing Cousins: Susie Newsom Lynch & Fritz Klenner'.The book Jen talked about is called Bitter Blood by Jerry Bledsoe. Mr. Bledsoe originally wrote about this case in the Greensboro News & Record, and that piece won an award. That was then turned into this book that hit the New York Times Bestseller list. Jen would mark it as one of the top True Crime books she's read. You can find the Amazon link at the top of the sources list. The made-for-TV two-part movie is called In The Best of Families: Marriage, Pride & Madness. Starring Kelly McGillis, Harry Hamlin, and Keith Carradine.Thank you to Bingo Bash for sponsoring this episode. We are headed to the great state of Texas, Houston, to be exact. Renee and her 19-year-old daughter Ashley Wilson are very close, talking often, usually every day. There was no answer when Renee tried to reach out on the phone to have their usual chat. Usually, this may scare Renee, but she thought she knew why. Ashley had called her mom a few days earlier to tell her she had some news, and that news came with lots of crying in about nine months. Renee thought Ashley was upset with her as her, as Renee told Ashley there would have to be some changes in her life with a baby coming. One of those changes included moving back home. Ashley, who had just moved out, had been in a terrible car accident with severe injuries. Ashley took a long time to heal and was proud of her new independence. On January 19, 2004, a call came into the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s office. Renee is shocked to find her sweet daughter dead inside her apartment. Around her neck is the cord she wore around her neck at her high school graduation and a pillow over her head. Ashley had hanged herself, but Renee did not believe this to be the case. Perhaps Renee was wrong, or maybe it was a mother’s intuition. Content WarningThis episode deals with the rape and death of a young child.Ten-year-old Holly had been playing with a neighborhood playmate a bit younger than her. When it came time for her friend to go home, Holly didn’t want the little girl to walk back alone. So her mother, Maria, gave her permission to escort her friend home since the walk wasn’t very far, only about six minutes. In fact, it was the same route that Holly took every day to get to school.By 8:30, darkness had fallen, and Holly had not arrived home. At first, Maria thought that her daughter must have stayed at her friend’s house to play for a little while, but a quick phone call confirmed that she hadn’t. Family and friends began canvassing the neighborhood. A frantic Maria called the police and reported her daughter missing. The next morning, a man was walking their dog along the beach when he saw a black nylon duffel bag in the water. Inside that bag, he would find the torso of a young girl wrapped in plastic.Join Jen and Cam as they discuss the heartbreaking case 'Gone In A Flash: Holly Jones.'Michael Briere is up for parole in 2028. Donna Willard, a single mother of three, lived in a tight-knit community of South Philly, doing her best to raise her three children. Her oldest was Todd, 12, with his baby sisters, 10-year-old Donna and 7-year-old Jessica, following. They were the light of her life, and she worked hard as a hairdresser to give them a good life. Donna was petite, weighing just over 80 pounds at 4’10, but she was big in her principles. She believed in working hard and doing the right thing. She was energetic and outgoing; love was the only thing missing in her life. In 1988, that would change for Donna when a man named Tommy Tyrrell, a pipefitter by trade, stepped into her hair salon for a haircut and ended up leaving with much more: her heart. After dating for a bit, Tommy popped the question, and the two were engaged. Life was perfect for Donna and Tommy, with a bright future ahead of them, but neither would know that was all about to change.Join Jen and Cam on this episode of Our True Crime Podcast entitled ‘Silenced Witness: Donna Willard.’Listener Discretion by the oh-so-talented @octoberpodVHS All Music by our EP Nico @theinkypawprint (formally known as @wetalkofdreams) Sources:https://chaddsfordlive.com/2014/11/25/court-upholds-death-sentence-in-willard-murder/https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-gettysburg-times-donna-willard/355976/https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-philadelphia-inquirer/30388069/https://casetext.com/case/burke-v-us-14https://www.newspapers.com/article/standard-speaker-donna-willard/355958/https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7830400/http://www.paed.uscourts.gov/documents/opinions/99d0956p.pdfhttps://corporate.discovery.com/discovery-newsroom/homicide-bureau-attorney-anna-sigga-nicolazzi-takes-viewers-inside-the-fight-for-justice-in-investigation-discoverys-new-series-true-conviction/https://www.paed.uscourts.gov/documents/opinions/14d0588p.pdfThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3647242/advertisement
In many ways, the Privackys were your average American family. They lived in western Michigan, in rural Dalton township just north of Muskegon. The family consisted of Stephen Privacky, a his wife Linda, and their two sons. Jedidiah, and Seth.Around noon on November 29th, the already tense family relationships were strained to the breaking point when Seth and his father had yet another fight. Only this time, his father told Seth that he wanted him to move out of the house. This enraged Seth, who claimed that his father never had anything positive to say to him. Steve left the house around 12:45 to pick up his father, John, to bring him back to their home for Thanksgiving dinner and Linda decided to take a quick shower. Jed made himself comfortable on the couch in front of the TV.Seth went upstairs to his parent’s bedroom and took the gun out of his father’s closet. While the aromas of Thanksgiving dinner filled the house, Seth loaded his dad’s .22 caliber Ruger.Join Cam and Jen as they discuss 'Massacre in Muskegon: The Privacky Family Murders.'Written and researched by Lauretta AllenListener Discretion by Edward October from OctoberpodVHSExecutive Producer Nico Vitesse of The Inky Paw PrintSources:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muskegon,_Michiganhttps://www.google.com/maps/place/Muskegon,+MI/@43.2606111,-86.3913292,11z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x88197cc3a93d9ed9:0x247e359134f72540!8m2!3d43.2341813!4d-86.2483921!16zL20vMHZmczg?entry=ttuhttps://www.michigan.org/city/muskegonhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/481046064/?terms=Seth%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/512122262/?terms=Seth%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/204917423/?terms=Seth%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/209378302/?terms=Seth%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/442308058/?terms=Seth%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/735981881/?terms=Seth%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/204088750/?terms=April%20Boss%20&match=1 (April's mother)https://www.newspapers.com/image/212458485/?terms=April%20Boss%20&match=1 (911 call)https://www.newspapers.com/image/100198969/?terms=April%20Boss%20&match=1 (info on April)https://www.newspapers.com/image/555089012/?terms=April%20Boss%20&match=1https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/153131553/april-anne-bosshttps://www.findagrave.com/memorial/186700837/jedediah-j-privackyhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/204088558/?terms=April%20Boss%20&match=1https://murderpedia.org/male.P/p/privacky-seth.htmhttps://murderpedia.org/male.P/p/privacky-seth-photos.htmhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/100198742/?terms=Privacky (Jana Simonelli)https://www.newspapers.com/image/204592113/terms=Steve%20Wallace%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/212475480/terms=Steve%20Wallace%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/366865136/terms=Steve%20Wallace%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/204892408/terms=Steve%20Wallace%20Privacky&match=1 (break-in)https://www.newspapers.com/image/204607882/terms=Steve%20Wallace%20Privacky&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/366851608/terms=Steven%20Wallace&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/362636328/terms=Steven%20Wallace&match=1https://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/2008/11/a_timeline_of_the_privacky_mur.htmlhttps://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/2008/11/steven_wallace.htmlhttps://obits.mlive.com/us/obituaries/muskegon/name/steven-wallace-obituary?id=20735680This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3647242/advertisement
Today, we are going to a small town in Iowa called Macedonia. The city is located just outside of Omaha, Nebraska, and boasts a population of around 250 residents. It is the kind of town in America where everyone knows each other, and you can’t get away with much because you are either related to them or someone you know is related to them. When a 37-year-old single mom named Cari Farver disappeared in 2012, it was all hands on deck. It would take many people to get some answers for those who loved Cari, and when the answers came, the truth about what happened was nothing less than a horror movie. David and Patricia Stallings married in August of 1988, and with the belief that they were about to embark on their part of the American Dream, the couple bought a small white farmhouse on Lake Wauwanoka in Hillsboro, MissouriTwenty-four-year-old Patricia gave birth to the couple’s first child, Ryan Stallings, in April of 1989. Even though Ryan suffered from gastronomic distress since birth, the couple were overwhelmingly happy in their new roles as parents. But on July 9th, 1989, that would all change as Ryan became horribly ill with nonstop vomiting and labored breathing. Patricia drove full speed up Highway 21 toward St. Louis with her sick baby cradled in his car seat. In a panic, Patricia got lost and ended up at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital instead of going to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, as she intended.Once there, Ryan was immediately ushered into the ICU, put on a ventilator, and had numerous tubes and IVs going into his tiny body. Patricia was overwhelmed when the doctors couldn’t seem to diagnose what was wrong with him. They slammed her with a barrage of questions and then ran a complete blood and urine analysis. The staff would not allow her or David to be alone in the room with Ryan. Anytime David and Patricia were in Ryan’s room, there had to be medical staff present.Three days later, Patricia was arrested on assault charges for poisoning Ryan.Join Jen and Cam as we talk about "Preconceived Notions: "Patricia Stallings"Written and researched by Lauretta AllenListener Discretion by Edward October from OctoberpodVHSExecutive Producer Nico Vitesse of The Inky Paw PrintSources:https://www.newspapers.com/image/139943203/?terms=Patricia%20Stallings&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/819970269/?terms=Patricia%20Stallings&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/207793816/?terms=Patricia%20Stallings&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/139942291/https://www.newspapers.com/image/139942651/?terms=Patricia%20Stallings&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/139958402/?terms=Patricia%20Stallings&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/141238228/?terms=Patricia%20Stallings&match=1 https://www.newspapers.com/image/141439318/https://www.newspapers.com/image/141439346/?terms=Patricia%20Stallings&match=1https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patricia_Stallingshttp://www.msbp.com/stlouis.htmhttps://www.law.northwestern.edu/legalclinic/wrongfulconvictions/exonerations/mo/patricia-stallings.htmlhttps://unsolved.com/gallery/patty-stallings/https://unsolvedmysteries.fandom.com/wiki/Ryan_Stallingshttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK559906/https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-65830799https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathleen_Folbigghttps://www.childrenshospital.org/programs/epilepsy-genetics-programThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3647242/advertisement
Today we are heading south to a town called Davie, just outside of Florida’s Gold Coast. It is a small town where not a lot happens, and that is precisely how the townfolk like it. A massacre in this sleepy town would disrupt the calm community, leaving them in fear. It would take a long time to finally get justice, but how the case unfolds is genuinely one of the most bizarre.Join Jen and Cam on this episode of ‘Our True Crime Podcast’ entitled 'Death in Davie: Donna Decker.'Promo by our friends Whitney and Melissa over at @NavAdvocacyPod. Life in America in the 1950s often conjures up images of an idyllic suburban life. Fueled by unprecedented economic growth after the lean and stressful years of World War II, Americans enjoyed the stability and prosperity that they craved. The innocent and wholesome portrayal of the nuclear family was often depicted in programs like Father Knows Best and Leave it to Beaver as one where every problem could be solved with a good ol’ heart-to-heart talk and a slice of apple pie. But look closer, and there are cracks in that façade. The polio epidemic terrified families of the early 1950s, the Cold War raged, and there was little room for divergent views in what had become a homogeneous society. And crime? It existed, even if television shows tried to pretend that it didn’t. Elvis Presley rocked America socially and literally with his huge hit Heartbreak Hotel in January 1956. Less than a year later, Presley would have a legion of fans and a new movie called Love Me Tender. And it was on a freezing cold night in December of 1956 when two teenage sisters, Barbara and Patricia Grimes, disappeared off South Archer Avenue in Chicago after having seen Love Me Tender for the twelfth time at the Brighton Park Theatre. Their disappearance and subsequent story would be hailed as the crime that stole Chicago’s innocence. It just shone a light on the less than Leave-it-to-Beaver reality. This case is still open, so if anyone has any information regarding the Grimes sisters case, the Cook County Sheriff’s dept has a page where you can submit information. Link below.https://www.cookcountysheriff.org/case/819/Theresa Grimes is the only sibling left of Barbara and Patricia, and she is in her 80s. It would be amazing if she could see her little sisters get justice.Research and writing by Lauretta AllenListener Discretion by OctoberpodVHS & OctoberpodAMProducer Music & Editing by Nico at We Talk of DreaSources:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoLOjBEarKY&ab_channel=WGNNewshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mhaptd2v5bw&ab_channel=WGNNewshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_the_Grimes_sistershttps://gizmodo.com/the-hideous-chicago-triple-child-murder-that-was-finall-1728039519https://www.newspapers.com/image/372809377/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/372809377/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/371134987/https://www.newspapers.com/image/372098382/?terms=Barbara%20Patricia%20Grimes&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/371481073/https://www.newspapers.com/image/371506269/?terms=Barbara%20Patricia%20Grimes&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/372089264/?terms=Barbara%20Patricia%20Grimes&match=1 (funeral details)https://www.newspapers.com/image/371489418/https://www.newspapers.com/image/371506299/?terms=Barbara%20Patricia%20Grimes&match=1 (Bedwell's confession details)https://www.newspapers.com/image/371686309/?terms=Barbara%20Patricia%20Grimes&match=1 (4 Quizzed in Grimes Case)https://www.newspapers.com/image/371483321/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/371483354/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20 (Detailed breakdown of "sightings")https://www.newspapers.com/image/372095078/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/371314373/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/372098303/ (details of the girls last day)https://www.newspapers.com/image/372573261/https://www.newspapers.com/image/372573297/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/371102964/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/370612530/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1 (clothing)https://www.newspapers.com/image/370647278/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1 (classmate IDs Bennie)https://www.newspapers.com/image/370615583/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/371130799/ (13 Questions)https://www.newspapers.com/image/372600722/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/372185966/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://thehauntedlibrarian.com/tag/edward-bennie-bedwell/https://www.aetv.com/real-crime/murders-of-barbara-and-patricia-grimeshttps://static1.squarespace.com/static/5f975edb6e81564dce78f544/t/61f14af66fb7342a62c01bd1/1643203320769/Teen-Cleared.pdfhttps://chicagoreader.com/news-politics/death-and-the-maidens/https://www.newspapers.com/image/372217973/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://theoremfact.wordpress.com/2017/05/31/the-grimes-sisters/https://www.newspapers.com/image/372755194/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/372755194/?terms=%22Barbara%20Grimes%22%20&match=1 ("crossed on both her feet")https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/5501564/barbara-jeanne-grimeshttps://www.americanhauntingsink.com/bonnie-leigh-scotthttps://www.newspapers.com/image/372577214/?terms=Charles%20Leroy%20Melquist&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/111564966/?terms=max%20fleig%20chicago&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/643903658/?terms=max%20fleig%20chicago&match=1https://wgntv.com/news/wgn-films/the-grimes-sisters-murders/will-detectives-discovery-help-solve-grimes-murders/https://wgntv.com/news/wgn-films/the-grimes-sisters-murders/did-investigators-overlook-a-crucial-lead-in-girls-murders/https://wgntv.com/news/wgn-films/the-grimes-sisters-murders/sisters-killings-blamed-for-chicagos-loss-of-innocence/This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3647242/advertisement
Warning: This episode is graphic. Listener discretion is advised. It is a rite of passage for many American college students, and that is Spring Break. It’s a time when students can cut loose, drink too much, and make plenty of bad decisions. Whether Palm Springs or Palm Beach, kids flock to the surf, sun, and sand to have a week full of fun. As parents, we know our children are getting older, and we would probably prefer them not to go, but we have to trust them and know they will be ok but…what if the darkness that lurks out there is more evil than we could ever comprehend and it is just waiting for the right moment to strike. On Wednesday, March 15, 1989, in Brownsville, Texas, two young men came into the station to talk to Chief Investigator George Gavito. The two men tell the investigator their good friend is missing as they explain that they are visiting South Padre Island for spring break. When investigators finally learn what happened to Mark Kilroy, it is indeed the stuff of nightmares. Springfield, Missouri, is an unassuming town of historical significance. Located in the southwest portion of the state, Springfield is home to about 170,000 people. And although the city is no stranger to violent crime, as many might remember the now world-famous 1992 disappearance of the Springfield Three, it's mostly a quiet place to live. Mark and Diane Staudte resided in Springfield with their four children. Mark played the guitar and sang lead for a local band, and Diane was a nurse and the family's primary money maker. On Easter Sunday, April 8th, the paramedics and police were called to the Staudte home to find Mark unresponsive and without a pulse. Initial examination by the paramedics concluded that Mark had been dead for several hours. Nothing seemed unusual except a ring of blood around his mouth. The coroner ruled Mark died by natural causes.Mark and Diane's 26-year-old son Shaun would be found dead five months later. It would take the second oldest child, Sarah, to be admitted to the hospital in critical condition before an anonymous caller would ask the police to investigate. They feared the members of the Staudte family were being murdered one by one.Join Cam and Jen as they discuss 'There Were Six: The Staudte Family Murders'Research and writing by Lauretta Allen Listener Discretion by OctoberpodVHS & OctoberpodAMProducer Music & Editing by Nico at We Talk of DreamsSources:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staudte_Family_Murdershttps://www.ozarksfirst.com/crimetraveler/crime-traveler-the-chilling-murders-of-the-staudte-family/https://www.newspapers.com/image/149506784/?terms=Diane%20Staudte&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/176114263/?terms=Diane%20Staudte&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/118485077/?terms=Diane%20Staudte&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/126626823/?terms=Diane%20Staudte&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/213404200/?terms=Rachel%20Staudte&match=1https://www.newspapers.com/image/159818284/?terms=Rachel%20Staudte&match=1https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/189253566/mark-alan-staudtehttps://www.newspapers.com/image/176114263/?terms=Diane%20Staudte&match=1https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/chilling-story-church-going-mum-7772251https://prabook.com/web/diane_elaine.staudte/905699#:~:text=Background,Springfield%2C%20Missouri%2C%20United%20States.https://www.aetv.com/real-crime/antifreeze-murderhttps://abcnews.go.com/US/mother-convicted-poisoning-family-maintains-innocence/story?id=82780856https://people.com/crime/pastor-tips-police-in-antifreeze-murders-ive-never-had-two-family-members-die-in-the-same-type-of-situation/https://travel.usnews.com/features/top-things-to-do-in-springfield-missouri#:~:text=Springfield%20is%20a%20quintessential%20American,buffalo%20soldiers%2C%20are%20buried%20here.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springfield,_Missourihttps://www.news-leader.com/story/news/crime/2016/08/02/citing-fear-men-staudte-daughter-wants-do-over-antifreeze-murder-case/87966600/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqsFA4qIkqQ&ab_channel=UnmaskingAMurdererhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwiUVtN71n4&ab_channel=LorenzoStoneyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW9EHdjx7ps&ab_channel=OPPresents-TrueCrime (Rachel's confession toward the end)https://soundcloud.com/timble-1/01-track-1-v2-wav-emi-78-wav (Song that Mark wrote and sang.)https://www.facebook.com/shaun.staudte.7/ -- Shaun's original Facebook page. https://mylifeofcrime.wordpress.com/2013/06/22/murder-in-the-family-diane-rachel-staudte-confessed-to-poisoning-mark-shaun-staudte-with-antifreeze-for-the-money/https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4391407/This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3647242/advertisement
It is Saturday morning, Dec 10, 1994, when a phone call from the fancy downtown Atheneum Hotel comes into the police. A hotel guest named Roberta Amos is found dead in the bed. Investigators are sent to the scene. Police ask the 51-year-old Lowell Amos, who goes by Ed, to recount the hours leading up to when he woke up and discovered his 37-year-old wife dead next to him. Ed said the previous night, the couple attended a Holiday party thrown by his employer, who booked several hotel rooms for the attendees to stay in. Ed said the couple was having a great time and drinking lots of bubbly when his wife, who goes by Bobbie, started whispering sweet nothings in his ear. The two left the party, but the night was not finished for the couple, who would attend yet another early morning party. What happened to Bobbie is not immediately apparent, but investigators suspect something is amiss. It is March 17, 1997, and the day is winding down for Killaloe Ontario police superintendent Ken Leppert. As he leaves the Ontario Provincial Police dept, he is greeted by 39-year-old Nancy Filmore. The visibly upset woman demands to speak to a detective. As the two sit down, Nancy tells the detective she is there to talk about Cherrylle Dell. She blasts into name-calling, directed at the 42-year-old widow and mother of three, Cherrylle. Nancy goes on to say that Cherrylle has been opening accounts of credit under fake names and reporting bogus burglaries to gain insurance money. When asked if she could prove her allegations, Nancy said no, leaving the detective with little to go on. He takes her statement and files it away for now. When asked how she knows Cherrylle, Nancy said they used to date, but the relationship ended and not on a good note. Nancy adds that she is suing Cherryll, claiming that her ex-lover stole money and clothing from her. Now the detective wonders if this is just a scorned lover out for revenge, but this is only the beginning. As Nancy is telling the detective this long detailed story, Nancy messes up and tells a little too much…it is too late now. She could not go back. The detectives knew there was much more to this story than revenge and a jilted lover. Nancy is clearly scared of implicating herself...but in what and why?Join Jen and Cam from Our True Crime Podcast as we discuss ‘Web of Lies: Cherrylle Dell.”Listener discretion is by @octoberpodvhs Music by our executive producer @wetalkofdream Sources:https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11027060/https://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/archival-how-sex-lies-and-antifreeze-convicted-the-angel-of-death-cherrylle-dellhttps://murderpedia.org/female.D/d/dell-cherrylle.htmhttps://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/dells-daughter-tells-of-weird-conversation/article4169567/http://www.fact.on.ca/news/news0102/ts010203.htmhttps://ottawasun.com/2016/01/21/no-early-parole-for-convicted-killer-cherrylle-dellhttps://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/killer-stripper-cherrylle-dell-stories-of-true-crimehttps://www.ranker.com/list/crimes-committed-by-modern-witches/amber-fuahttps://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/escaped-killer-arrested-in-toronto-1.1061528This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3647242/advertisement

It is June 16, 1987, and we are in Nashville, Tennessee, and a beloved church named Emmanuel Church of Christ Oneness Pentecostal has experienced a substantial damaging fire. Detective Robert Moore reports to the scene. He quickly determined that the fire had severely damaged the structure, burning extremely hot. The organ had melted, and the chandeliers had fallen to the ground. The walls were black from soot and smoke damage. Although he could see the severity of the fire, he was not there to investigate the fire itself but rather something that the fireman discovered in the church's attic. Since there was no electricity, Moore had to use a flashlight to make his way. In the corner, he notices a pile of stuff, primarily unused wood, materials, just a bunch of stuff thrown on top of what looked like a rolled-up carpet. Wondering what could be on the rug, he begins to unroll it. As it unwinds, human feet appear, but the shock is yet to come. The body had no head, and half of the arm was missing. Upon closer inspection, he notices a belt with a belt buckle. The buckle had the initial ‘T’ on it. Only one person had such a buckle: the well-loved 44-year-old church pastor John David Terry. There was not a break-in, so robbery was out of the question. As the investigation begins, investigators will travel down a deep and twisty path to get a resolution. What they find out is difficult to believe, even for seasoned detectives. This is a case that has stuck with Jen for a few years now. In late 2015 a breathtaking image of nineteen-year-old Raudha Athif wearing a snow-white sleeveless dress, standing chest high in the cerulean, teal swirl of the Indian Ocean. It wouldn’t take long before the image snagged the attention of Vogue magazine. While being a model is a dream for many young women. Raudha had aspirations of being a doctor like her father. After receiving a scholarship to Islami Bank Medical College, Raudha headed to Bangladesh, which was quite a culture shock. Raudha adapted beautifully. When her Vogue cover hit the stands in October of 2016, the happiness Raudha felt soon gave way to concern. The students at the school began to treat her differently. She received threats and insults for not dressing in a manner appropriate for a Muslim girl. Raudha adhered to the dress code while at school, but modeling, in general, is looked down upon in some of the factions of Islam. To have her depicted in the magazine with exposed arms, shoulders, and hair made matters even worse. By the end of March 2017, Raudha was found dead in her dorm room. While doctors in Bangladesh ruled her death a homicide, Raudha's family believes it was foul play.Join Cam & Jen as they discuss "Death of a Cover Girl: Raudha Athif." It is January 31, 2012, and a family member decides to drop by the home of 24-year-old Billie Jean Hayworth and her fiance 35-year-old Bill Payne. The couple, who shared a 6-month-old son, had recently gotten engaged and we were excited for the future. A family member who regularly stopped by to check in on the young family was always greeted by the baby crawling around. This time it was different. After not being invited into the home, she entered through the unlocked door. She was immediately thrown off since there was not the usual hustle and bustle of the morning. Instead, pure silence. The women called out to them but no one responded. As she made his way through the hallway, she looked into the bedroom and saw Bill Payne lifeless on the bed. Then he came upon Billie Jean on the floor, covered in blood, with her still clutching to her baby boy. The baby had her mother’s blood on him but seemed to be unharmed. The woman makes a frantic call to 911 in shock from what she has witnessed and tries to soothe the baby. Police head to the location nervous about what they will discover. This is not the norm in this quiet Tennessee town of Mountain City, population 2415. Agent Scott Lott from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports to the scene. He determines Bill Payne had a gunshot wound to the face and his throat had been slit. Billie Jean had a gunshot wound to the head as well. The house did not seem to be in disarray indicating this was not a burglary gone wrong. What it did indicate was that someone wanted both of them dead and made sure to make that happen. The murders looked clean, as in a hit. I hate it when the "undeveloped brain" excuse is used for murderers who happen to be young. There are some truly evil young people in this world. I do not believe this guy should have been released, the role of his mom not withstanding. He is no Billy Flynn.

Um… MyPatriotSupply.com?? America is facing more dangers than ever? Things are falling apart on a DAILY BASIS?? Food shortages? This ad is… troubling, misleading and irresponsible. While I’m sure MyPatriotSupply.com is a business that exists, I also believe that this particular advertisement— from the content to the speaker’s voice— was designed to advance the belief that America faces existential peril under a Democratic administration; more to the point, I believe it‘a a dog whistle meant for people who believe the 2020 election was stolen. This is as much a political ad as many overt campaign ads, and if you as podcasters have enough integrity to “keep politics out of it” (as people with these particular beliefs always demand of their entertainment media), you’ll remove these ads. Even if you lack integrity, the ad itself is unsettling, creepy and way more bothersome than the oft-bemoaned “Best Fiends” commercials.

This monster did not deserve to die of natural causes. Surely the families of his victims could rest easier and I wish them the best. I can res easier knowing that it is impossible now for him to negotiate a release in some secret deal made with some misguided individuals who believe they are being both humane and practical, as has happened from time to time. The one child torturer/murderer/sexual sadist comes to mind. I cannot fathom the knots the Courts will twist themselves into -- the bad decisions they make in the name of"sparing the families further suffering" for example -- to find these guys a path to freedom and a way to reinflict these monsters onto society.
