Dr. Wiktoria Michałkiewicz is an interdisciplinary expert with extensive international experience in storytelling, talent management, journalism, and photography. Alongside her academic achievements—holding five degrees, including a PhD in Sociology, an MA in Social Anthropology, and an MA in Cultural Studies from esteemed institutions such as Stockholm University, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Lumière University Lyon 2, and Jagiellonian University—she has established a remarkable career as a contributing editor for prestigious international magazines like National Geographic, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue. Additionally, she has excelled as a film and photography producer, talent agent, and exhibition curator. Dr. Michałkiewicz has played a pivotal role in producing and curating exhibitions for renowned artists, collaborating with international festivals and institutions. Her diverse expertise extends to consulting and editing award-winning books, as well as serving as a PR and communications specialist. In one of her notable recent roles, she was part of Fotografiska Stockholm and Fotografiska International, contributing to its global expansion to Tallinn and New York. In 2021, she founded REZO, a consulting agency specializing in global career strategies for visual artists, talent management, international art PR, and art advisory services. Operating globally from Warsaw, Stockholm, and Lisbon, she continues to make a significant impact in the art world. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Michałkiewicz has collaborated with both legendary and emerging artists, contributing to their projects in various capacities—from curating exhibitions and producing films to editing books and developing communication and marketing strategies. She has been involved in institutions and festivals such as the Nordic Light Festival in Norway, Landskrona Foto Festival, Leica Gallery, and Fotografiska, working on exhibitions featuring artists like Albert Watson, Platon, Greg Gorman, Ralph Gibson, Ragnar Axelsson, Paul Nicklen & Cristina Mittermeier, Chris Rainier, Paul Hansen, James Nachtwey, Sebastião Salgado, and Ellen von Unwerth. Her international strategy and art PR work include collaborations with artists such as Kacper Kowalski, Cooper & Gorfer, Bastiaan Woudt, Maciej Markowicz, Lisen Stibeck, and Erle Kyllingmark. As an editor and consultant, she has contributed to award-winning book projects, including “Arche” by Kacper Kowalski, which was nominated for the prestigious Les Prix du Livre at Rencontres d’Arles 2022. Dr. Michałkiewicz’s projects have garnered numerous accolades, including Cannes Lions, Prix du Livre Les Rencontres d’Arles (nomination), and Sony World Photo Awards (1st Prize Landscape). Freo Majer is the founder and artistic director of Forecast, an international mentorship program that transcends disciplines and geographical locations to connect cultural practitioners with renowned mentors. Trained as an opera director, Majer looks back at a career as a director and producer in European theaters, opera houses, and at festivals, including at Mainz State Theater, Lucerne Theater, Bremen Theater, and the international festival Theater der Welt. Driven by his own experience, and recognizing a gap in the type of support available to cultural works, he changed paths and founded Forecast in 2015. Together with curators and festival directors from various European cities, he initiated the interdisciplinary research project Housing the Human (2017–2019). In 2020, Majer began a three-year collaboration with the ZKM and HfG in Karlsruhe and the National Academy of Science and Engineering acatech, developing prototypes on the eco-social research program Driving the Human. Philippe Garner was born in Aix-en-Provence in 1949. He was brought up in Brighton. After graduating in French and Latin from Bedford College, London, in 1970, he joined Sotheby’s Training Scheme and in 1971 started working as a specialist in late-19th-century and 20th-century decorative arts and in the fledgling field of photographs. Wesley Verhoeve is an Amsterdam-based photographer and curator whose work has been featured in publications including the New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, Washington Post, Wired, New York Magazine, Volkskrant, and others. As the founding curator of the Projected series at the International Center of Photography, Wesley oversaw 96 exhibitions showcasing the work of over 300 photographers from 53 countries. He currently curates Process Projected, a bi-monthly exhibition series at the WIHH Gallery in Amsterdam. Wesley's first monograph, NOTICE, was published by New Style Publishing in 2021 and is now in its second printing. Boris Eldagsen was born in Pirmasens, West Germany, in 1970. He studied media and drama, philosophy, and German studies at the University of Cologne (1991–92). From 1992 to 1998 he concurrently studied philosophy at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and visual art at Mainz Academy of Fine Arts. During that time, he also studied visual art at the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication in the University of Hyderabad, India (1994); and conceptual art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Czech Republic (1995). He has presented nine solo exhibitions in Australia, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom including those at the Rencontres d’Arles, Edinburgh Art Festival, and the Australian Centre for Photography, Sydney. His work has featured in twenty-one group exhibitions and festivals in Asia, Europe, and South America including Chobi Mela in Bangladesh; Encontros da Imagem in Braga, Portugal; FestFoto in Porto Alegre, Brazil; FORMAT Festival in Derby, United Kingdom; and PhotoVisa in Krasnodar, Russia. He has won a number of awards including the Voies-Off Award, Arles (2014); best show at FORMAT festival, Derby (2015); and the Open Competition Creative prize at the Sony World Photography Awards (2023), which he declined to accept. Boris Eldagsen is a member of Deutsche Fotografische Akademie, responsible for their online activities, and, since 2019, a digital consultant to Roger Ballen. Anne Schwanz co-founded OFFICE IMPART together with Johanna Neuschäffer in 2018. OFFICE IMPART is a multi-dimensional space and platform for contemporary art. Their activities take place on site in Berlin – or anywhere. The founders Anne and Johanna, are experts for (and on) changing the art world. They develop exhibitions on- and offline, with classically produced and digital works. They build bridges to art – and sell it. OFFICE IMPART recently received the 2023 VBKI Prize for Berlin Galleries with their exhibition Sandbox Mode, featuring the work of Mitchell F. Hannah Watson is the co-founder and director of contemporary art gallery TJ Boulting, as well as the director of independent art publisher Trolley Books. TJ Boulting was founded in 2011 by current director Hannah Watson and the late Gigi Giannuzzi, taking its name from the landmark Grade II* listed Arts & Crafts building it inhabits in Fitzrovia, central London. The gallery represents a dynamic group of emerging and mid-career contemporary artists across all mediums, and introduces more established and historic artists through thematic group shows. These are often collaborations with invited curators, such as In The Company Of in 2018 with Katy Hessel, Birth in 2019 with Charlotte Jansen and The Gaze in 2021 with Louis Wise. TJ Boulting is also the home of independent publisher Trolley Books. Established in 2001, Trolley publish a diverse range of titles presenting unique stories in photography, photojournalism and contemporary art. In 2005 Trolley received a special commendation from the Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards for its outstanding contribution to photography book publishing. Recent awards for the books include at the Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards for Siân Davey's Looking For Alice (2016) and Maisie Cousins's Rubbish, Dipping Sauce, Grass Peonie Bum (2019). Barbara Wolff, born in 1951 in Kyritz in the Prignitz region of the State of Brandenburg, is the daughter of photographer Werner Hinz. After completing high school she trained as a photographer in her father’s photography business and then went on to study photography at the Academy of Fine Arts, Leipzig. After gradating she worked as a freelance illustrator, photographer, and designer. During this period her style is defined by photographic collages and montages. Between 1982 and 1985 she lived in the village of Sechzehneichen in Brandenburg, where she pursued a personal, long term project about the village and its inhabitants. After applying to leave East Germany, Wolff moved to West Germany in 1985 and settled in Munich. Numerous trips to and stays in other countries followed, enabling her to discover places where she previously would not have been able to travel—such as Guatemala, Paris, and Vietnam. Since 1989 Wolff has worked as a freelance photographer and designer for the Linhof camera manufacturer in Munich. She taught Visual Communication and Photography as the Designschule München for twelve years. In the context of further freelance work, she has overseen the set-up and establishment of photographic studios in countries such as Brazil and Yemen, and she has held lectures on photography in China, Finland, and Vietnam. Es­tab­lished in 2004, Robert Morat Ga­lerie is a con­tem­po­rary art gallery, pri­mar­ily fo­cussing on emerg­ing po­si­tions in con­tem­po­rary pho­tog­ra­phy and photo-based art. Founded in Ham­burg, the gallery has since moved to Berlin and is now lo­cated on Lin­ien­strasse in the Mitte art dis­trict. The Belgian collector, Alain Servais, started collecting art in the late 1990s. With a strong focus on emerging artists, Alain has built up a significant contemporary art collection which is highly versatile and forward-looking. Alain is also among the first to collect digital art and support young artists by offering residency program in his loft in Brussels where he keeps his collection. Narda van ‘t Veer, gallerist, photography collector and agent. In 1977 Narda van 't Veer stumbled upon the work of Guy Bourdin. Her love for photography was born and a few years later she graduated from her studies in marketing & economics at HTS, after which she founded an advertising agency specialised in fashion campaigns. Through her work as an art director she meets a variety of photographers and in 1988 she decides to start her own agency, Unit C.M.A. Today she represents national and international creatives working in the field of photography, illustration and film. In her thirty years as an agent van 't Veer also comes across a lot of art photography and many photobooks. This sparks the start of her own collection which features work by Helmut Newton and Collier Schorr among others. Next to that her extensive knowledge of and many connections in the field of photography lead to various projects like realising various photobooks. In 2012 van 't Veer starts her own gallery in collaboration with Jasper Bode. Marc Barbey, Collector and Founder of Collection Regard, Berlin. Collection Regard is the photographic collection of Marc Barbey focusing on German photography, especially photography related to Berlin. Marc Barbey is administering the estate of Hein Gorny (1904-1967). Acting as an archive as well as an exhibition space, publishing house and gallery, Collection Regard deliberately takes a position between museum and gallery. The aim is to show largely unknown photographic works which deserve attention in a curated context. Publications and art events in form of Salons Photographiques accompany the exhibitions that are also sent on tour. Marc Barbey (*1971) grew up in Paris and studied international business at the Grande École (ESSCA) in Angers, France, and the Heriott Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. The international businessman has been active in sales and business developments positions in the metal industry as well as the software business. In 2003 he moved to Berlin and founded a family. Berlin is the birthplace of his private collection and since 2016 he dedicates himself completely to the development of the different activities of Collection Regard. Christophe Guye was the owner and managing director of a communications agency in Zurich for 15 years, which was taken over by an international agency network in 2004. Since 2006 he has worked as a gallery owner and art dealer for contemporary photography. In the same year, he opened his gallery – formerly SCALO|GUYE Gallery – in Los Angeles, which has been based in Zurich since 2010 under the name Christophe Guye Galerie and represents numerous nationally and internationally renowned artists who have expanded the medium of photography in a broader sense context of contemporary art. During this time he has organized over a hundred exhibitions in cultural institutions, museums and partner galleries in Switzerland and abroad. The gallery is also represented at international art fairs such as Paris Photo, Photo London, Unseen Amsterdam and Photo Shanghai. In addition, he advises numerous private art collectors and institutional collections on the development and expansion of their collections. Since 2021, Christophe Guye has also been a guest lecturer at the teaching and research center for the theory and history of photography at the University of Zurich. Georgina Adam is a journalist and author who has been writing about the interactions of art and finance since the 1980’s. From 2000 until 2008 she was the Art Market Editor of The Art Newspaper where she is currently the Editor-at-Large. She is a contributor to the Financial Times Life & Arts Section, and lectures at Sotheby’s and Christie’s institutes in London. Georgina initially studied Islamic Art at the Ecole du Louvre and also lived for five years in Japan. She is the author of three books about the art market – Big Bucks: The Explosion of the Art Market in the 21st Century (Lund Humphries, 2014), Dark Side of the Boom: The Excesses of the Art Market in the 21st Century (Lund Humphries, 2018); and most recently The Rise and Rise of The Private Museum (2021). She is membership chair of Cromwell Place in London, and a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and The International Art Market Studies Association (TIAMSA). Dr. Susan Bright is an Australian/British curator currently based in London. She has a specialisation in lens-based arts and contemporary visual culture with an emphasis on cross-disciplinary and international programming. She was a curator at the National Portrait Gallery in London before deciding to work independently in the early 2000s. Her professional life has brought her to live in London, New York and Paris where she has worked with many institutions on a wide range of projects. These include: Tate, Barbican, The Royal Academy, The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, Saint Louis Museum of Art, Phoenix Art Museum, and The New York Public Library. In 2007 she co-curated the landmark exhibition How We Are at Tate Britain. This was the first major exhibition of British photography ever held at Tate. In the same year she curated Face of Fashion at the National Portrait Gallery, London. Other significant exhibitions include: Home Truths at The Photographers’ Gallery and The Foundling Museum, London (2014) and Playground at Serlachius Museum, Finland (2018). Her survey exhibition Feast for the Eyes toured to six major museums and galleries in Europe, Canada and the USA (2018-2021). In 2019 she was Guest Curator at PHotoESPAÑA. Exhibitions were held at Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa, Museo Lázaro Galdiano and the Museo del Romanticismo in Madrid. In 2021 she was co-curator of f/stop 9: Festival für Fotografie in Leipzig. Bright is regularly invited to be a visiting speaker, critic and scholar at universities worldwide. She taught curatorial practice and visual culture to both art and art history students for fifteen years at institutions including Parsons and the School of Visual Arts in New York and Sotheby’s Institute and University of the Arts, London. She has authored and co-authored seven books. These include: Photography Decoded (Tate/Ilex, 2019); Feast for the Eyes: The Story of Food in Photography (Aperture, 2017); Home Truths: Photography and Motherhood (Art/Books, 2013); Auto Focus: The Self-Portrait in Contemporary Photography (Thames & Hudson, 2010); How We Are: Photographing Britain (Tate, 2007); Face of Fashion (National Portrait Gallery, 2007) and Art Photography Now (Thames & Hudson, 2005).
