Hello guys, hope you are doing well, here is another episode of our bonus series, Screwed Up Moments Plus. In today's episode I am really excited to be speaking to Stephen Lew, who runs The School of Positive Psychology here in Singapore. Here we talk about how and why Stephen got into the field of positive psychology, his winding and unconventional route to get there, as well as his own podcast, Getting Naked with Happiness.   Hope you enjoy! Hello guys, here is another episode of Screwed Up Moments Plus, hope you all are doing well.  So, as we all know and as I keep reiterating from the Screwed Up Moments episodes, this show is brought to you by a Singaporean Social Enterprise called Happiness Initiative. Social enterprises in my view, have always been fascinating to me, they are halfway between a for-profit business and a non-profit entity. Basically a business with a social cause. And in this episode, we will be examining that a little further! Where in the previous Screwed Up Moments Plus we were able to learn a little bit about the co-founders of Happiness Initiative and why they started Screwed Up Moments, today we are going to be learning about their social enterprises as well as those of others! I was fortunate enough to attend the local festival Music for a Cause back in August 2019, and I managed to capture a bunch of short interviews with some very interesting people around this very subject. So yeah, hope you find it interesting!  Do check out Happiness Initiative they are a really cool entity, and hope you learn something new about social enterprises! Enjoy! In the second part of our season finale special, we present the conclusion to Chia Xun An’s story. Following his earlier battles with depression, Xun An worked hard through polytechnic to improve his grades and overcome his condition. However, things would soon take a dark turn when he started to hallucinate and hear voices, ultimately resulting in a mental breakdown in front of his class, and another diagnosis of borderline personality disorder, a.k.a. his “Black Box”. Have you ever felt completely detached to the world around you? Where you lose control over your senses and your thoughts and your actions? Where your mind is so impaired that you break away from external reality? What would that feel like? How would you react? And how would the external world treat you? With kindness, empathy, and understanding? Or with stigma, judgment, and isolation? If you were to come across a life-changing event, perhaps a near brush with death or the passing of a loved one, how would you react? Would you take a moment from your busy life to reflect and deal with your own problems? Or would you stick to the same old routine? In this episode of the Screwed Up Moments podcast, we explore these questions with the story of Zai Miztiq. Previously, Zai had led an exciting and fast-paced lifestyle building up her henna art business. She was invited to many events, interviewed for numerous publications, and even had a 6 month stint in Japan where she introduced and promoted her craft. However, her hectic life would come to a sharp stop when she met with a car accident, broke her spine, and was told that she could never walk anymore.
