Can you believe we are just over halfway through 2021? I don’t know about you but I was really feeling the need for a midyear reset to refocus on my goals.I'm so grateful that a friend sent me the video from Struthless on his Half Year Reset method and the workbook that goes with it. This isn't a simple journal exercise, but one that takes some time and effort. Believe me - it's worth it.This helped me to not only reset my priorities for the rest of 2021, but I was also able to celebrate some of the smaller accomplishments I hadn't been paying attention to. This isn't a practice to beat yourself up on where you've fallen short, but to have a non-judgmental look at where you want to improve and celebrate how far you've come.Ready for the reset? Grab a notebook and let's go!This is the final episode for season 3. We'll be taking our seasonal break and returning with episodes in September. I'm going to take a wild guess that you've placed someone on a pedestal at some point in your life. You know how that looks - when think someone is much better, cooler or hotter than you. Or it can also be a sense of idolizing someone you look up to or believe in.What's the problem with pedestals? They create a sense of separation. When someone is better than or less than, we're not operating from the same playing field - which isn't true. This pattern increases self doubt and insecurities, which we want to avoid. In this episode, I chat about:How we place celebrities, teachers, and partners on pedestalsThe way seeing someone as better than you creates an energy of separationWanting to be on a pedestal creates distance in relationshipsClearing out the desire for perfection or a saviorPedestals and polish can create inauthenticity in businessI share a story about how I placed myself on a pedestal in my marriage and it ultimately influenced our divorce. Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional health with the online membership - Remote Yogi Tribe. Research shows women have to see themselves in 100% of the requirements to apply for a job, whereas men will see themselves in only 50% and apply. That's the sad reality on paper. Women count themselves out of the job race before it's even begun. Let alone believe in themselves enough to land their dream job. Kelly Barnard is doing incredible work to change that.In today's episode Kelly dives deep into practical advice around job searching and the mindset shifts required to get that dream job.We discuss:How to play big and bold and get creative in a job search to really stand outThe worst interview questions designed to trip you up and how to prepare excellently for them - not like everyone elseWhat hiring managers are looking for and how to give them a reason to say YESThe importance of creating a personal brand in your career realmMarketing yourself in a career / job role and overcoming insecuritiesDealing with overwhelm throughout the processMoving away from scarcity mindset and saying NO to jobs you know you don't want but apply for out of fear or insecurityTRUSTING in the processImposter Syndrome - how everyone feels it and how to work around itHow comparison plays out massively in the professional world, and does not serve usand so much more!Meet KellyWhile marketing LinkedIn and working remotely around the world for two years, Kelly met countless professionals who were unhappy in their jobs and selling themselves short on paper. She realized almost everyone, especially women, dreaded writing/talking about themselves and were unintentionally limiting their success and happiness. She specializes in everything related to a job search. Kelly collaborates with clients to share their professional stories in Resumes, LinkedIn Profiles, and Cover Letters. Holding up the desire to be a “good girl” exhausted me throughout most of my life, until I decided it was no longer something I needed to care about. My story is deeply connected to my roots in the church and what it taught me as a child. Through the lessons I learned at that age, I took on a lot of shame and judgment. It led me to a lot of self loathing and self-harm.Even more shocking, I still find that my childhood faith still impacts how I play small as an adult. While my experience may not be the same as yours, I ask that you hear it and understand that many other women have experienced similar stories. I honor everyone’s right to their own beliefs, as long as they’re not pressured onto others. In this episode, I share:How I wanted to be a perfect good Christian girl, while equally knowing I would “never be enough”The shame of sexual desire in my youthDeveloping deep judgment for myself and othersSelf-harm as a form of self-punishment for being “bad”Experiencing the weight of shame and numbing out To be a woman meant being selfless and subservient What I’ve realized in shedding these controlling concepts are that women are fierce and powerful! When we shed the need to fit into a perfect “good girl” box, we step into our true selves and man – it’s stunning!I work to help women clear shame and believe in themselves in my 1-1 program, Empress.
