The ghouls welcomed back Kris Sumner of Soul Sisters Paranormal and Miranda Young of Ghost Biker Explorations. Each had been guests separately before, but this time they came as a package deal! Both ladies investigate separately, but they also often team up on their paranormal investigations, so sometimes that results in cross-over episodes. Speaking of, the third season of Miranda's Ghost Biker Explorations dropped during October. Kris is working on a new Soul Sisters Paranormal offshoot series called Landmark Legends and Lore. Both Kris and Miranda focus on creating history-driven content. As Miranda put it, travel and history come first, the paranormal actually factors in third and is an added bonus. Do ghosts know when you're sleeping, and therefore vulnerable? How far would you go when dressing the part and becoming a trigger item? Is Chris Watts' house haunted? (The man who murdered his wife, Shan'ann, and their two daughters, Bella and Cece in Colorado.) Did neighbor security cameras and police body cams capture their spirits? The ghouls got all decked out for Halloween. Agent D brought an out-of-this-world Men In Black vibe, Sara V came prepared as the Devil's Advocate, and Court showed up as a Creepy Countess. They threw a virtual Halloween party, complete with games and real ghost stories. Including some of their own. Sara filled the other ghouls in on what happened when she did the Haunting at Home with her daughters. How did it differ doing it in person vs. virtually? What kind of results did they get this time? Jim from The Haunted Walks approached Courtney about a new product he was offering paranormal podcasters to try --A Haunting at Home, A Paranormal Adventure. She immediately asked the other ghouls if they'd be up for it. Obviously, they said yes. That's what this episode is all about! ABOUT THE HAUNTING AT HOME The Haunting at Home is part paranormal investigation, part spooky activity, that you can do with friends. (Or by yourself, if you're brave enough...) It's an online interactive audio experience that guides you through a series of paranormal experiments. Which haunted headline did Rick think was the messiest? What prompted the phrase "cannibal life matters" to come up? Who did Rick call a shit bird? The ghouls welcomed back past guest Rick McCallum of the Hollywood Ghost Hunters to talk about his recently released book, Ghosts Believe in Me. Well, they tried to welcome him back. Once upon a time, while talking with the other ghouls, Deedee brought up an experiment she had read that John E.L. Tenney wrote about. Specifically, "Recording Your Dreams: Desynchronized Sleep Manifestation."  (http://weirdlectures.com/recording-your-dreams-desychronized-sleep-manifestation/) It was about how he used a blank VHS tape, a magnet and that was about it. He then placed the items under his pillow in an attempt to see if he could record his dreams.  He also included an image that he said had shown up on one of the tapes after such an experiment. (He'd conducted this experiment multiple times over the years.) Sara and Court called bullshit.  Then a funny thing happened. Somehow Deedee and John traded tweets and she took a chance asking him if he wanted to be on the show to talk about all of this. He said, "Sure!" Uh oh. Did Sara and Court have to eat crow?  Um, yep. A little.  John was not only super cool, but also extremely generous with his time. The ghouls could've talked to him for hours, and hope to have him back on the show one day. Not only did he explain more about his dream experiment, he admitted it sounded wacky and as unlikely as hell. The ghouls don't like to play favorites, but sometimes it's unavoidable. One of our favorite listeners, Michael Greer, shared a Twitter post from comedian Ronny Pascale. It included a clip with a very creepy occurrence. Unbeknownst to Ronny, while he was talking with two other people during his Roast Yerself show, a shadow person crawled up the stairs behind him. One of the people he was interviewing admitted later that he'd seen it but didn't say anything at the time. It was actually someone who had viewed Ronny's show who brought it to his attention --and kept asking him about it. Finally, Ronny went back to see what the guy was talking about. That's when he saw it. He posted a clip of it on Twitter, where it quickly went viral. And that's how Michael spotted it and showed it to the ghouls, who all agreed, "We'd love to talk to him about it!" So Deedee sent him a request and low and behold Ronny agreed to talk to them! But in addition to hearing more about his shadow person and any other kind of paranormal activity he might be experiencing in his house, the ghouls also learned about what kind of stand up he does, which includes Dead Mom jokes. Luckily the ghouls all have a bit of a macabre sense of humor, but this is a warning that some listeners might find some of the jokes offensive. Sara and Brian started Unsettling Toys as sort of a joke, never really expecting it to be as well-received as it's been. But they quickly learned some people are eager to part with dolls and toys that they find unsettling, and others are just as eager to adopt those toys. Unsettling Toys is the liaison that connects the two parties. They don't specialize in haunted dolls or toys and won't certify any as haunted. They will share the toy's backstory when they know it. Sometimes those stories include creepy things happening that the owners attribute to the dolls. Not all of their toys and dolls look creepy either. Some, like one they showed the ghouls named Rose with as missing leg, are only missing parts. There was also nothing disturbing-looking about a doll with no name that arrived to them --other than she was wrapped in a double black plastic garbage bag because the family who sent her just wanted her gone. Some are a bit macabre looking, though, like their mascot, Mr. Creeperton, or Winston the leather lion. The ghouls loved talking with Sara and Brian about Unsettling Toys, because not only were they fun (and great sports), but they really give a personal edge to how they acquire toys and adopt them out and that was sincere and refreshing. Deedee and Aaron Daniel "A.D." Annas met where Deedee seems to meet all the coolest people: Haunted Hour on Twitter. Five years ago she met A.D., a.k.a. @ThinkHaunted, when he was just beginning to make his film, There's No Such Thing as Ghosts? They recently reconnected and that's when Deedee learned his documentary was not only finished but recently released on Amazon Prime. She immediately told the other ghouls she'd like to schedule A.D. as a guest, and of course they enthusiastically agreed that sounded great. In Part 1, David Oman treated the ghouls to a bonus guest when parapsychologist Dr. Barry Taff called David. Learning a bit about Dr. Taff's experiences in the house and hearing some of his theories about what causes the paranormal activity was amazing. The ghouls highly recommend you check out Part 1 if you haven't, but it's not necessary to still enjoy Part 2. In this part, David talks more about the upcoming Livestream event from the Oman House on August 21 and 22. He also shares some of the activity he's caught on audio, including mystery gongs and an ethereal voice. As David says, the only thing remarkable about his house is the high EMF levels. How many dream interpretation books do you own? Between them, the ghouls own at least half a dozen. They each broke out their favorite dream interpretation methods, then shared a couple of their dreams to see what their sources had to say about the symbols they identified and if any of the sources defined symbols the same. Other than their love for the strange, unusual and mysterious, the ghouls didn't find anything scary about the Frightening Floyds at all. Quite the opposite. They found them very well read, well written and delightful. The Frightening Floyds own and operate Anubis Press. Deedee, Sara and Court enjoyed learning more about the books they've written and offer through their publishing company. Court was familiar with the Frightening Floyds thanks to past guest Pamela K. Kinney who knows of Court's love for Disney's Haunted Mansion. Pamela recommended Court read their Be Our Ghost book. So she did and really enjoyed it. She was especially psyched to get the chance to have its authors on the show. What happened when the ghouls tackled paranormal experiments? Deedee's experiment was to set up the Jebrail Boxes to run the entire podcast. Did the podcast phantom interact with them? Sara wasn't exactly prepared to show her project, but she still brought the tell. But one show she did have was a birthday present her daughters gave her: a Greg hat. Sara schooled Deedee and Court that Gregs are fans of YouTuber Danny Gonzales. Sara is a Greg and was proudly wearing her hat and shared that one of her favorite DG episodes is "Getting Spooked with the most useless ghost hunters ever." But Sara also talked about a new experiment that tries to limit cross-contamination and suggestibility that involves blindfolds and spirit boxes. Court tested herself with leading a meditation visualization and also brought up the Duck experiment that Deedee found, which is a modification of the Gorilla experiment that Court is obsessed with. And then there was a deep exploration of the word "fuck." That's what gave this episode a NSFW rating. But Court also threw in a little Spanish lesson, by way of the nicknames her husband and her have for each other. And because of all the Fs they gave, she made a proposition --that was strictly meant for the ghosts. (And, she admits, was a little tacky, but also extremely funny.) Once again, Sara succinctly summed it up best about this episode: "It just be bonkers."
