1984. Tampa, Florida.
A 17-year-old girl named Lisa was on her way home from work, when she was abducted from the side of the road. For the next 26 hours, she was subjected to a terrifying imprisonment by a sadistic sexual predator, who had already killed several young girls. But, unlike the other victims, Lisa was the only one to survive.
As bodies were being discovered every other week, Floridian authorities realized a serial killer was on the loose. Investigators didn't know it yet, but the killer was a 31-year-old army veteran and divorced father of two hiding in plain sight. And over the course of eight months, ten women would die by his hands in the Tampa area.

September 22nd, 1991. Guilford, Connecticut. Early that evening, a mysterious man visited the home of Christine Brendel and delivered some shocking news – her brother Ernest and his family had been kidnapped, and were being held for ransom by the Mafia. It turned out the man at the door, 42-year-old Christopher Hightower, was a pathological liar and a killer. He claimed he needed $75,000 to release the family, but in reality, they had already met their fate. Most shocking of all was Hightower's methods. He killed Ernest – who was a friend of his – with a crossbow, strangled his wife Alice, and then drugged their eight-year-old daughter Emily, and dumped her in a shallow grave. But in court he continued his lies, claiming he saw the mob carry out the killings.

I remember in her jailhouse interview, she was so cocky calling the officer names claiming all those men deserved to die and the police are corrupts. I don't condone her evil killing spree but I think she went through a tragic life as a child that's why she ended up being a murderer.
absolutely horrifying.
His first name Joachim (often shortened to Achim) is being pronounced joːaχɪm, the A isn't silent.
I love when I'm into the flow of a story and an ad drops like a fucking BOMB...
3 dead teenagers were found, badly burned, and the medical examiners rule out murder? What else did they think it was, spontaneous combustion?
Staaap the constant background music! It’s unnecessary and distracting! I feel like I’m listening to a podcast trying to be an NPR broadcast
40:21 There is no jury in Germany's court system!
Judges don't live in the real world as many of us do. When is life in prison ever life in prison. She lied before and even after she was convicted. Then 2 years later she half azz confesses. I believe judges need to go back and learn math. Because 14 crappy years for snuffing the life out of another human, just doesn't add up to the rest of her life.
All murderers are, are LIARS......Why aren't the parents with this 5 yr. old...?..She is responsible for her safety....Your right. They are young. The parents are 50% responsible. You never let a 5 yr. old out of your sight.
