The Everyman Movie Review is a different kind of movie commentary - it's not about the art of movie-making, but rather about the enjoyment and entertainment of the film itself. It's not about me or my opinion, it's about the movie - does it deliver on what it promises?
I've been a movie fan my entire life. I'm such a 'fan' - I gave up a lucrative legal career on the east coast and moved to Hollywood to be a part of it. And here I am, living the dream, recording reviews for the internet.
But seriously, I was tired of the reviews where the reviewer was more worried about themselves than the mov Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/everymanmoviereviews/support

Episode 46 of the Everyman Movie Review! Quarantine has left me digging through the deepest corners of the streaming services for some of my favorite movies to share with all of you. Episode 45 of the Everyman Movie Review! The most talked-about movie of TWO years that I'VE finally seen! I remember being stoked for The Hunt last fall and heartbroken when it was pulled from distribution. Then, the roller coaster ascended another hill when it was announced again for March - only to be let down again by the theaters closing before its debut. BUT - redemption - thank god for 2020 and streaming. I was able to enjoy the most controversial movie that no one had seen yet. Was I disappointed? Check out the episode to find out! Episode 44 of the Everyman Movie Review! The past few days have been an effort to distract myself from the reality of the world. What better way to do that then to check out an action-packed, comic book, shoot-em-up at the local cineplex. Starring Vin Diesel? Oh, that's just what the doctor ordered!
Episode 43 of the Everyman Movie Review!

I didn't want to miss (or be late) with yet another episode, but with everything going on in the world, I didn't necessarily want to take the time from your day (and mine) on something as superficial as a movie review. So I reached back into the archives for a feel-good, fun movie to do a quick review to hopefully boost your spirits. I hope I found that with Anna and the Apocalypse. Episode 41 of the Everyman Movie Review! Every little kid wishes they had a superpower. Some wish that they had the power to be invisible. Later in life, every boy wishes they could be invisible for other reasons. But, if pop culture has taught us anything - its that invisibility isn't all its cracked up to be. Not only for the invisible person - but for the people around them. That is the premise of this week's movie - The Invisible Man. I loved the Kevin Bacon version Hollow Man from 2000 and I was excited to see a new take on an old story. Was I disappointed? Check out the episode to find out! Episode 37 of the Everyman Movie Review! (BONUS EPISODE) Hey everyone - apologies on the "no episode on Sunday" kerfluffle - moving has been a bear and the end of the month snuck up on me. I didn't have everything ready to move - and I didn't have episodes pre-loaded. BUT - I did have this gem in my back pocket to share with you now. I initially meant it for a bonus episode - BUT - numbered it 37 and then screwed up my episode order. So - this is episode 37, posted after 38 and 39. AND I'll be back with a new episode on Thursday. On a recent flight, I checked out the 2018 documentary from Werner Herzog "Meeting Gorbachev". Unlike most movies I review, this one does not and will not have wide appeal - but I immediately stopped working to watch when I found it. Was I disappointed? Episode 39 of the Everyman Movie Review! I grew up in the same area as Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. They made up a BIG part of our history lessons in Elementary School. Maybe that's why I didn't rush out to see another rendition of the story I'd heard so many times. But, Cynthia Erivo was nominated for an Oscar and I really wanted to see all the Oscar contenders - and it was available on a 5-hour transcontinental flight (and I wasn't going anywhere) I've been intrigued, so I figured I would check it out. Episode 37 of the Everyman Movie Review! IThe path to the Oscars this year FINALLY made its way through Concord, CT and I found the time to check out Little Women. After no less than TWO attempts (one thwarted by travel and the other by the parking situation at Burbank 16), I finally got my butt in a seat and my eyes to a screen to see it. Episode 36 of the Everyman Movie Review! It took me longer than it should have to see Ford v. Ferrari - I'm not exactly sure why. I LOVE Christian Bale, Matt Damon is ok, and I love the story of Ford at Le Mans - but it seemed like the timing never worked out.
Episode 35 of the Everyman Movie Review!

Ohhhhh Harleen Quiziel - what you do to me. You can change your name (or the name of your movie - it's now being billed as Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey) but you can't change the odd, unexplainable attraction I feel for a psychotic, masochistic genius. Episode 33 of the Everyman Movie Review! Life is about compromise - and sometimes, when you drag your friends and loved ones to as many movies as I do, you have to compromise on what movie you're going to see. Episode 31 of the Everyman Movie Review! (Sorry for the delay - apparently then episode didn't post on Anchor. Remember, the episode always goes live on Thursday over on YouTube.) This review is to be neither an accusation nor a confession, and least of all an adventure, for death is not an adventure to those who stand face to face with it. It will try simply to tell of a generation of men who, even though they may have escaped shells, were destroyed by the war. This week - we're discussing the WWI film - 1917. Episode 29 of the Everyman Movie Review! I finally did something this week that I should have done a long time ago. I checked out Sean Baker's filmography - starting with the LA-set Tangerine. Episode 28 of the Everyman Movie Review! A lot of nostalgia and mixed feelings about the movie this week. Episode 27 of the Everyman Movie Review! A two hour movie that consists of basically just a conversation between two old guys with diametrically opposed ideals - what is the "The O The Anthem Story"?
