On September 18, 1998, in the early stages of Typhoon Gading, a Sulpicio Lines Ferry named Princess of the Orient approached Fortune Island in the Batangas province of the Philippines. On board were 338 souls bound for Cebu, 150 of them would never make it there. What unfolded would be a series of errors made by the captain, that would doom these passengers. References:

That and my classwork atm has me fed up with doing hobby graphic design atm. So I did a no no.
Merry Christmas: In this Season 2 Finale, I go over the waterpark portion of Action Park, and its rides as well as the incidents that happened there. As well as (attempt to) defend the park from an enthusiasts POV. References: https://controlc.com/70c7f776
Sorry for the audio issues, part of the recording got corrupted four times during recording. I tried to fix it to the best I could but there are still some glitches, and janky transitions here and there... You have been warned.
In part 2 I cover the Alpine Center including the Alpine Slide & Cannonball Loop, and some other bad ideas that sprung up at Action Park.
As the references list was longer than 4000 characters I can't link it on anchor directly so click the link below for the references used.

After months of painstaking research, writing, and one case of corrupted recording audio, the first of my long teased Action Park episodes is finally here. Apologies for the poor audio quality, this was recorded in my mom's closet, and a bit of an echo developed.
In this part I will be covering the founding of the park, and it's ski resort beginnings, as well as cover the part of the park known as Motorworld.

On Febuary 7, 1922 a fire broke out in the Lexington Hotel which was located in twelfth and main street in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia. 12 would die in a disaster that is mostly forgotten to time.

Warning this episode is unscripted, as such I go full on immature in this episode. Listener discretion is highly advised (AKA don't listen to this episode at work, in polite company, around parrots, or small children).
Sorry about the sound quality. Using a new microphone, need to figure out how to use it.
To kick off Season 2 of Channel of Catastrophe, I will be doing yet another Sulpicio Lines ferry disaster... The Doña Paz had a sister ship, and an American built predecessor. In this episode I will be talking about two ill fated Sulpicio Lines vessels. The first Doña Paz which sank in 1977 amidst heavy seas, and the Doña Paz's sister ship. The Doña Marilyn, which capsized and sank in Typhoon Ruby killing upwards of 200 people ten months after the Doña Paz burned.

You have seen the show BattleBots right? Well it's just one part of the global motorsport/hobby of Robot Combat, most countries running events have arenas that are safe for spectators, and roboteers to watch. However some events in some countries didn't get the memo, we explore why that's a terrible idea, and why if this isn't adressed someone could get killed. Who better to talk about arena safety than two Robot Combat Historians in the first ever CoC episode with a guest feature.
Again a very special thanks to my gracious guest CloneKiller who took time out of his life to record this episode with me.

On August 13, 1950, a tragedy would occur on a newly refurbished pleasure cruiser in the middle of Riga, Latvia SSR when an unruly crowd surged onto her decks ultimately causing her to capsize. Of the 350 on board only 207 would make it out. Quickly swept under the rug by the Soviet leadership, this is a story that needs telling. This is the story of the PS Mayakovsy.
Welcome to the 2019 season finale of Channel of Catastrophe.

Between October, 27, 1973, and May, 11, 1984 there would be two catastrophic fires in two different states that would kill 9 people, and change the US Amusement Park Industry forever. Join your host Michael, as he discusses the Dumfries PTA Haunted House Fire at Virginia's Washington-Reid Elementary School, as well as the infamous Haunted Castle fire at New Jersey's Great Adventure amusement park.

In November 1913 a brutal storm would strike the Great Lakes, with multiple ships lost or heavily damaged, and over 250 killed, this remains the worst storm in the history of the Great Lakes. This episode itself took multiple recording sessions, and days just to put together, as I was researching as I went along. There is also an extremely early recording of a song I am working on near the end.
Trying a new show notes format where I use hyperlinks to link to my sources when you click on the corresponding text. Let me know if it works or not, I'm trying to clean up show notes area by not having all these bare links lying around.
Also we have an Instagram at channel_of_catastrophe which is my main form of contact for this podcast.

On December 20, four days before Christmas 1987, an overloaded Filipino passenger ferry collided with a fully loaded oil tanker in what would become the deadliest peacetime maritime disaster to date. We will get into the background of both ships, survivor testimony, the sinking, and the aftermath. This is the blazing end of the Doña Paz.

Status update on podcast and why I haven't posted a new episode. I will post notice on my Instagram @Channel_of_catastrophe when the latest episodes production is nearly complete. TLDL: I basically have been in full college mode and swamped with course work leaving little to no time to research and script write.
For podcasters: I think I have encountered a bug.
This is what I have in store for the next four episodes.
Since IDK how to create a different podcast on a new account I will post here. This is a roundup of offensive vehicle paint jobs in Forza Horizon 4. A bannable offense. I should know, I was banned for it once. Offenders in this episode are. Offensive Livery 1: MercedesMessers, Painter: Wolfarex, Reason: Pro Nazi. Offensive Livery 2: Jews, Painter: x IB4TMAN x12, Reason: Genocide. Offensive Liveries 3 & 4: Nice Van & Forza Livery, Painters: DandelionTra1n & BomberBob17, Reason: Free Candy Van. Offensive Liveries 5 & 6: Forza Livery & Forza Livery, Painters: [Taee] Ivan2363 & [!RTR] Milkzee, Reason: A dick. Offensive Vinyls 1, 2, & 3: Jew (all are named that), Creator: Jews Love Goon, Reason: Nazi Flag, Hitler, and a Muslim Chariacture that might be offensive to some.
This is the bonus version of Season 2 Episode 4. It features over 39 minutes of cut content, this includes discussion of other disasters, political opinions (which is a no no rule for my main episodes), and all around banter, as well as some post commentary.
