The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.  --Hans Hofman. In our noisy world, it’s all too easy to allow the unnecessary to gain control of our businesses and of our lives. But a big part of leadership is being self-aware and that awareness can help you see what is necessary. We believe that one thing that’s necessary is:Leaders Simplify Teamwork. After focusing on Leaders, Leadership, and how to be a Level 3 Leader for the last couple of episodes, today we’re moving to the second pillar of Simplify. As Hans Hofman said, we need to simplify so that the necessary can speak. In our businesses, that’s our mission, vision, and impact. You’ll want to grab a pen and paper to take notes as you listen in to:A brief recap of the characteristics you want to model to be a great leaderThe fastest way to build a team you loveHow the power of simplicity turned a recent retreat into a “wow” experience The 4 steps to SIMPLIFYING your business, including a foundational evaluation that you’ll want to return to again and again as you grow and scale your businessThe breakdown of the 4 steps are the perfect way to implement Leaders Simplify Teamwork so you can build an amazing team.***When you’re ready to Multiply your Impact, your Income, your Margin and your Freedom in business, join hand-selected business owners just like you in an upcoming...For Love of Team™ IntensiveOur intimate, immersive and interactive experience helps you:1) Sharpen your focus by doing more of the work you love2) Simplify your business by eliminating/automating/delegating other tasks.3) Surround yourself with others doing the work that they loveFor Love of Team™ Intensive is an invitation-only event.  To connect with Winston to see if this is a fit, book a 33 minute exploratory session using this link.
You can’t help but be aware of the leadership, lack of leadership, and the leadership inconsistencies that we’ve seen recently here in America.  Regardless of where you are on the political spectrum (or political awareness spectrum), the recent events have been part of everyone’s consciousness. I’m not talking politics in this episode but we can all take leadership lessons from the events that have occurred. This week, you don’t want to miss diving into:Who you have to lead first to be successfulThe question of whether mastery is attainableA surprising twist to looking at richness in businessHow love actually is leadershipWhy being called to be generous isn’t necessarily talking about moneyAnd, you’ll hear how exemplifying the characteristics of a Level 3 Leader can transform your business...and, dare I say, the world?*** When you’re ready to Multiply your Impact, your Income, your Margin and your Freedom in business, join hand-selected business owners just like you in an upcoming...For Love of Team™ IntensiveOur intimate, immersive and interactive experience helps you:1) Sharpen your focus by doing more of the work you love2) Simplify your business by delegating/automating/eliminating other tasks.3) Surround yourself with others doing the work that they loveFor Love of Team™ Intensive is an invitation-only event.  To connect with Winston to see if this is a fit, book a 33 minute exploratory session using this link.
Have you ever picked up an old business book from the shelves of a library or a used book store and tried to read it? In the words of a famous ad, “You’ve come a long way, baby.” What we think of as effective management has changed over the years. From the psychology of motivation to new technology and, especially today, with our remote workplaces, what worked “back then” isn’t effective today. Today’s leaders need to shift their mindset and their practices to build a sustainable, thriving, business. Level 3 leaders make those shifts. There are 3 words that describe the journey of a Level 3 Leader: Leaders, Simplify, and Teamwork. Regardless of where you are on your own leadership journey, this episode will give you food for thought about changes to make in your business.Listen in to hear:Why self-awareness is the key to business successWhat your most precious resource is and how to spend it wiselyThe 2 extremes that kill our business processes What you need to unify your teamThe best tool to maximize your team’s effortsAnd I share the secret to business success that I found after 40 years of leading teams.*** When you’re ready to Multiply your Impact, your Income, your Margin and your Freedom in business, join hand-selected business owners just like you in an upcoming...For Love of Team™ IntensiveOur intimate, immersive and interactive experience helps you:1) Sharpen your focus by doing more of the work you love2) Simplify your business by eliminating/automating/delegating other tasks.3) Surround yourself with others doing the work that they loveFor Love of Team™ Intensive is an invitation-only event.  To connect with Winston to see if this is a fit, book a 33 minute exploratory session using this link.
A false choice can be defined as something that you have to pick between...something that looks like an either/or situation when, in reality, it’s a both/and opportunity instead.   Growing a business has a multitude of moments like that. You find yourself facing a choice and only see 2 options but, often, it isn’t just 2 options...there’s more choices than what you first see. There are 3 pillars of growing a mission-based business. Many business owners mistake those pillars as either/or choices instead of seeing them as both/and opportunities. Join me in this episode, where you’ll get:The most dangerous time in the growth stages of a businessWhy throwing money at the problem doesn’t solve itThe needed mindset shift to achieve team building success A simple question that horrified my successful business mentorsMy personal story where a single comment changed everything for my familyAnd, you’ll hear how cultivating a healthy respect (and dare I say, love) for all 3 pillars is the key to being ready...When you are READY...to Multiply your Impact, your Income, your Margin and your Freedom in business. The year of 2020 was supposed to be one of perfect vision and clarity. But we ended up with “pandemic,” “unprecedented,” and new phrases like “social distancing” and “Don’t forget your mask.” Twenty years ago, no one could have predicted that 2020 would end this way. But I wasn’t even focused that far into the future. I was too busy founding and building a social enterprise business that grew to a $4.5 million dollar revolutionary business. And that’s the same business I left 5 years ago after I fired myself. If you missed that story, you can catch up on podcast episode 61.  That business was also the location of the biggest failure of my career and is the same thing that I’d bet is the biggest challenge for you as your business begins to flourish. In this episode, you’ll get:What keeps your business mission-driven without burn-outA counterintuitive way to look at the stages of business growthThe challenge with loving an idea or product The problem when you can’t take care of your clients by yourself any longer3 steps to SIMPLIFYING your businessAnd, you’ll hear the For Love of Team mission and how we can help you during the next 25 years...with perfect vision and clarity. When you’re ready to Multiply your Impact, your Income, your Margin and your Freedom in business, join hand-selected business owners just like you in an upcoming...For Love of Team weekend retreat. Our intimate, immersive and interactive experience helps you:1) Sharpen your focus by doing more of the work you love2) Simplify your business by eliminating/automating/delegating other tasks.3) Surround yourself with others doing the work that they loveThis is an invitation-only event.  To connect with Winston to see if this is a fit, book a 33 minute exploratory session using this link.
Public speaking. A favorite assignment for many people. Right?!?How about presenting an unscripted, unrehearsed 18 minute keynote speech without notes?  On a topic you just decided upon last night?   In front of your peers, being videotaped and critiqued in real time?  Welcome to season 2. Episode 61 of the newly renamed For Love of Team podcast.  It’s the #BeginAgain moment for the podcast. That was me a few months ago at my friend Kent Julian’s Speak it Forward bootcamp.  I began the keynote with a story about my dream business.  A service born out of necessity.  Reaching multi-million dollar status. Employing team members across 10 different states.  Enjoying a reputation for excellent customer service.  Growing market share.  Paradise, right? There was a dark side. One I share during this keynote.  Yet delivering  this speech gave me another unexpected benefit.  An insight about other businesses which ultimately fail to meet their potential.  So, let’s take you to that keynote, a few months ago outside of Atlanta.  The precise moment when For Love of Team was born.  Listen in to hear the first time I ever publicly said…“I fired myself.”The podcast also reveals: My first entrepreneurial venture and how I got my sister to pay a nickel to read her own bookThe leadership lessons I learned along my own journeyThe key role each leader needs to ensure they’re getting and also filling for othersWhat’s worse than an ill-equipped leader and how to avoid itHow God directed me to 1 Corinthians 13 and opened my eyes to For Love of Team The one surprising thing every leader needs to do to multiply their impact And so much more.***When you're ready to ...Multiply your Impact, your Income, your Margin and your Freedom in business...Join hand-selected business owners just like you in an upcoming...For Love of Team weekend retreat. Our intimate, immersive and interactive experience helps you:SERVE more while doing work you LOVESIMPLIFY your business by eliminating, automating, delegatingSURROUND yourself with others doing the work they LOVEThis is an invitation-only event.  To connect with Winston to see if this is a fit, book a 33 minute exploratory session using this link. ***Subscribe and leave a review  with your favorite podcast player Apple PodcastsSpotifyStitcherGoogle PodcastsOr your favorite player
A construction company that's focused on building their people?  Well, here's your inspiration For the Love of Team. Welcome to season two of the podcast. And this is Episode 60 of the newly renamed For Love of Team podcast. This is part two of my conversation with Victoria Mininger. We recorded this a few months ago, and I saved it to be closer to the launch of her new book Daring to Fight.   Make sure you catch the last podcast episode for more on the book and her story. And check out her links below, especially the book trailer.  And as we recorded that show, we also talked about her business journey as the CEO of Bear Creek Outdoor Living (www.bearcreek.co) in the mountains of Virginia.  Bear Creek has grown from just a mere idea into a recognized community leader by their Chamber of Commerce in just a few years. Listen in to hear:The ONE thing that actually drives passion in businessThe exact steps Victoria used to start building her teamWhy hiring for aptitude is critical for team successHow to succeed being a servant leader in a boss-driven worldA unique way Bear Creek developed training to support all the employees The building blocks of workplace cultureAnd so much more. This story is tangible proof that loving your team multiplies your results. I've experienced this multiplication in my own leadership career.  Loving your products or clients more than your people limits your potential.  Hearing Victoria's words in this podcast was ultimately the inspiration for the change for the podcast.  With a renewed focus on the power of teamwork, both in my business and with my conversations with you here on the podcast.  Links from the ShowBear Creek Outdoor Living (company website) Daring to Fight: When Grit, Grace and Determination Take Depression Head On (Amazon)Daring to Fight book trailer (YouTube)VictoriaMininger. com (speaker website)For Love of Team Foundational RetreatsAre you hitting the wall of complexity in your business? As our final episode of Season One of the Begin Again Leadership podcast, we've saved our BEST begin again story for last.  A second chance.  Three of the most beautiful, hopeful words ever spoken.  Victoria Mininger never set out to write a book, much less a book about depression.  In fact, she didn’t really even aspire to be an author.  Yet, after a season when overwhelm turned to darkness, Victoria dared to fight.  Her second chance not only helped herself, it's now helping thousands.  Writing is hard work.  A book always seemed like a daunting task.  And it is. And yet, when the need outweighs the excuses, somehow a book is what you get.And WHAT a book! Daring to Fight: When Grit, Grace & Faith Take Depression Head-On  is now available on Victoria's website and soon on Amazon.  I LOVE this book so much that I've already given away copies to friends who need a word of inspiration during a very challenging time.  Victoria is a wife, mom of four, Owner, CEO and Integrator of Bear Creek Outdoor Living ( a Residential Construction Firm), Writer, Author, Speaker, hands in the dirt gardner & farm girl.  And a great friend from a faith and business Mastermind we've been part of for several years. I know you are going to enjoy part 1 of our time with Victoria.  --WinstonLinks from the ShowBear Creek Outdoor Living (company website)Daring to Fight: When Grit, Grace and Determination Take Depression Head On (Amazon)Daring to Fight book trailer (YouTube)VictoriaMininger. com (speaker website)***So, let's draw deeper faith, inspiration and encouragement in our Begin Again moments.  If you like what you hear, please share with your friends and leave us an honest review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen.  Capture a screenshot of your review and email us at clientsuccess@winsightz.com for your free gift, Future 7 Figure CEO.Remember, the biggest Breakthroughs in life and business occur the moment you decide to #BeginAgain.
Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed, lost or just worn out.  You’re missing that spark, that fire you had at the beginning of the year.  I definitely hit that wall myself just a few months ago and ReFIREment is the process I used to help me rediscover my passion and my fire and today, others tell me how peaceful, surrendered and relaxed I look.  If you’ve never heard of the term ReFIREment, this is the last of a four part series, helping you gain your passion back after a season of setbacks.  The four steps are:Unplug: disconnecting from external resources temporarilyUnlearn:  reevaluating & challenging existing ideas, beliefs and conceptsRest:  experimenting with and understanding ways to deepen your restRelearn:  incorporating new practices and beliefs to set you on a new path Today, let’s go deeper into step three: RELEARN.   And as I’m recording this in early November 2020, it’s seven plus months since I made the decision to unplug to begin this journey. What are my results so far?My life is very satisfying.  I have more discernment and boundaries around what is most important in my life.  I no longer drift along with the waves of circumstances.  I now bless and release negative people from my list of acquaintances.  And for a recovering people pleaser, that is a huge improvement in the quality of my life.  I have rediscovered my passion for teamwork and collaboration, which have been the hallmark of my career.  I’ve realized that I’m not as effective as a lone wolf and how much I love helping others grow and prosper within the context of a TEAM you LOVE.  Our monthly business income is now 4x what it was before I stopped working in April.  And we’re only scratching the surface of what is possible.  This morning as an example, I set a personal record for the amount of deep sleep in a night, beyond anything I thought possible a few months ago.  And my body has already released 22 inches of girth during this lengthy process of unlearning.  As I enter this season of relearning, I’m excited about what’s to come.  ***Other practical resources to help you ReFIRE mentioned in this series:Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep & Dreams by Matthew WalkerThe Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark ComerDigital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Busy World by Cal NewportI've Been Thinking...Reflections, Prayers and Meditations for a Meaningful Life by Maria Shriver. Please note that some links above are affiliates: which does not increase the price to you, yet supports our work with a small commission for sharing these resources. ***Catch our next episode next Monday morning.  Subscribe in Apple Podcasts or any of your favorite podcast players so you don’t miss a single episode.  So, let's draw deeper faith, inspiration and encouragement in our Begin Again moments.

We’re back after a short break, we are preparing for our upcoming Season Two (coming soon) by taking you behind the curtain here at WinstonFaircloth.com.   Over this five part series, we’ve been sharing our emerging PLAN of how we’re going to serve three types of business owners going forward. Leaders who either WANT, NEED or HAVE teams to help them multiply their impact by creating, growing and keeping teams THEY LOVE.  We call this process: For LOVE of Team. Today, another hard truth gained during this season.  The value of WAITING.  During reFIREment, there are so many life and business lessons to learn, but none as important as the season of WAITING.  People tend to think of surrender and waiting as passive.  As type A’s or high D’s, we are constantly in motion, taking “massive action”.  That’s the answer to every problem.  And in our culture, we’re conditioned for instant results.Waiting is a season when things might not be easy.  Yet, it is a season where we are being prepared for everything that lies ahead as we step into our purpose.  We’re putting down strong and deep roots.  And just like the fruit tree, we don’t plant it today and harvest delicious apples tomorrow.  Let’s be thankful for this season of waiting.  ***Catch our next episode next Monday morning.  Subscribe in Apple Podcasts or any of your favorite podcast players so you don’t miss a single episode.  So, let's draw deeper faith, inspiration and encouragement in our Begin Again moments.
We’re back after a short break, we are preparing for our upcoming Season Two (coming soon) by taking you behind the curtain here at WinstonFaircloth.com.   Last time, we shared about the MOST powerful part of pivoting your business and life. I call it WHYPOWER.  Today, let’s talk about Provision.  The biggest pushback I get when I bring up the concept of taking a ReFirement Sabbatical is financial.  We’ve got bills to pay and we cannot afford to leave the business even for a moment to sharpen our saw and renew our spirit.  I hear this all of the time.  And in our culture where we equate money to work, or income to value creation -- this is a very hard belief to overcome.  As your virtual mentor today, I have some news for you.  If you cannot step away from your business to take care of the primary asset in your business (YOU) -- perhaps for now you are an employee with a bad boss and not YET a business owner.  If your business is not growing the way you’d hope, it’s usually one of three things.  The OFFER, the Price or the People you are marketing to: there’s a misalignment somewhere in that mix.  And since YOU are a big part of the offer, how you view money and provision makes all fo the difference.  ***Next time: We continue our four part series around our pivot with the next P: Planning. When you become aligned on your why and trust the process, opportunities you never considered start coming your way.Catch our next episode next Monday morning.  That’s when our weekly podcasts are now being released.  Subscribe in Apple Podcasts or any of your favorite podcast players so you don’t miss a single episode.  So, let's draw deeper faith, inspiration and encouragement in our Begin Again moments.

EP 52: We’re back after a short break, we are preparing for our upcoming Season Two (coming soon) by taking you behind the curtain here at WinstonFaircloth.com.   Last time, we shared how taking a PAUSE gave us the margin needed to unplug, unlearn, rest and relearn.  Otherwise known as ReFIREment.  In this episode, let’s talk about the MOST powerful part of pivoting your business and life. I call it WHYPOWER.  When you’ve taken the time for margin (and by the way, it doesn’t have to be weeks or months, sometimes a long weekend away will do), you will be flooded with creative or problem solving ideas.  And if you are particularly decisive or a quick start by nature, now that you’ve decided on the WHAT, it’s easy to jump immediately to figuring out the HOW.Grinding in business and life reminds me of the term WILLpower.  I will keep churning and working from a position of brute strength of will.  I will not quit.  I will find a way. WILLpower is not the answer.  Instead, WHYpower is the recognition that ideas without purpose are not enough.  I will share my process for finding your WHY in a very counter-intuitive way.  ***Next time: We continue our four part series around our pivot with the next P: Provision. When you become aligned on your why, opportunities you never considered start coming your way.Catch our next episode at 7:00 am Eastern time next Monday.  That’s when our weekly podcasts are now being released.  Subscribe in Apple Podcasts or any of your favorite podcast players so you don’t miss a single episode.  So, let's draw deeper faith, inspiration and encouragement in our Begin Again moments.
Welcome to episode 51 of the Begin Again Leadership podcast.  We’re back after a short break, we are preparing for our upcoming Season Two (coming soon) by taking you behind the curtain here at WinstonFaircloth.com.   Last time, we shared the PLAN of how we’re going to serve three types of business owners.  Those who WANT, NEED or HAVE teams to help them multiply their impact.  In this episode, let's talk about what happens when you hit the wall in your business.  Perhaps it's burnout.  Or something less noticeable, like when you start resenting your business or can no longer celebrate the success of your peers.  You know something is OFF, but you can't put your finger on exactly what is going on.  I tried doubling down on productivity practices.  I started working longer and harder.  Then one day during a new walking routine I’d implemented at the start of the COVID lockdown, it came to me.  A word out of nowhere.  REFIREMENT.  Rediscovering my passion one small step at time. I had NO real plan, but in speaking to some peers, I ended up with four foundations of REFIREMENT -- a season of PAUSE.  UnplugUnlearnRelearn Rest ***Next Monday, we'll talk about defining Purpose in a very counterintuitive way -- by thinking long-term so that external circumstances can no longer define your value.  Catch our next episode at 7:00 am Eastern time next Monday.  That’s when our weekly podcasts are now being released.  Subscribe in Apple Podcasts or any of your favorite podcast players so you don’t miss a single episode.  So, let's draw deeper faith, inspiration and encouragement in our Begin Again moments.
We’re back after a short break, we are preparing for Season Two (coming soon) by taking you behind the curtain here at WinstonFaircloth.com.  Before we share what’s been happening over the past few months, I’d like to share a glimpse as to where we’re going.  Think of some successful, long-term, personal brand businesses.  Now that you have them in mind, how many are thriving today as solopreneurs?  Singular leaders delivering for their clients -- all alone.  The American mythology of rugged individualism, pull yourself by your bootstrap is well ingrained in our culture.  Yet, even thriving solopreneurs cannot do it alone.  Someone, somewhere took a chance on them before they were established or well known.  There are many examples of six figure solo businesses and precious few seven figure solo businesses without a team.As entrepreneurs, we all Want, Need, or Have a team with the expressed purpose of helping us multiply our impact in business.  In this episode, we'll introduce you to #ForLoveOfTeam where intentionality meets heart in building, growing or keeping the Multipliers who can help you make the maximum difference.  Namely, a team you absolutely LOVE.***And how did we get here from where we last left off a few months ago? Well, that’s the focus of our next episode.  What happens when you hit the wall of frustration in a business you dreamed of building.
