The character D was based on Tom Kier. Tom has been a combatives instructor for the past 30 years and he is considered a subject matter expert by USSOCOM (The Unites States Special Operations Command). He also holds a master instructor/Tuhon rank in Sayoc Kali. Sayoc is a Filipino martial arts system developed by Pamana Tuhon Chris Sayoc. Mindset is an integral part of Sayoc, and Ethan thought it would be a good idea to get Tom on the podcast to share some of those principles, and how they can assist in achieving your goals. I'm extremely glad to see the "Batman effect" was discussed. I would love to see Ethan do a deep dive into that concept with Jordan Peterson. I feel it could be extremely useful for people that struggle with self discipline in their weight management journey.

Hello, So my wife is a physician and she is concerned that the amount of weight I'm dropping is too much and is suggesting I add in more calories (she is an OBGYN so this is a little out of her "area" of expertise) maybe you can shed some light on this for me. I'm running on a 750 calorie deficit and I have been dropping .5 to as much as a pound a day, I feel great, my energy level is great and I'm just not hungry, I eat good quality foods slowly until I am satisfied. I'm your experience, do you think I should slow down my weight loss?

You have had many guests on your show. Some that informed us, some to make us laugh (Dax Shepard) and some to truly inspire us. Lisa has made a true impact. She is very inspiring. My journey is starting again because she has brought my fight back. I have 120 lbs to loose. Today is day 1 thank you for your inspiration Ethan. Sincerely 😉

Why does Dr. Mike need to hate on conservatives? I thought this was an adult discussion about health/weight. If it were you wouldn't need to mention politics. Respectfully, Brian

I've often thought about how I wish that we didn't need to eat food to survive, yet I often refer to myself as someone who likes food. I like that food is brought up as a utility and would like to switch more to that mindset. However I have to trick my brain into thinking that way more often and get used to eating leftovers and similar items more regularly.

I really want to love this podcast because I feel like Ethan has a lot to offer to those of us who struggle with weight and eating disorders. I like Ethan and respect all that he has been through. But, unfortunately, I just can't get past how much foul language there is. Will not continue listening. :(
