Description

Welcome to the God Is Within Her Podcast. (formerly known as The Beautifully Enough Podcast!) This is a space for you, as an every day Christian woman, to GROW! Grow in your faith, grow a closer relationship with God, and grow your confidence in Christ! Every week, we will dive into the word of God so we fill our minds with God’s truths, to live, not as the world tells us to live, but to live boldly as Godly women who fear the Lord. DON’T PANIC RETURNING LISTENERS!! This is still the same weekly devotional podcast you fell in love with over the past two years. But God has put it on my heart to pivot and run with a new title that truly embodies the kingdom purpose God has placed on my heart: not to focus on our lack or feelings of inadequacies but to mentor and guide Christian women to realize we can grow a fierce and confident faith in Christ! Titus 2:3-7 instructs the female elders to become “teachers of beautiful things”. The message translation tells women to be “models of goodness...

Are You a Christian?

Are You a Christian?

2023-05-0835:25

Hey friends!  On today's episode, we go back to the basics and ask ourselves "what does it mean to be a real Christian?" When was the last time you thought about that? What does it really take to be a Christian and be saved?
Hey friends! On today's episode, we are going to focus on Galatians 1 and 2. And I really want to focus on challenging you to do an inner inventory of your faith. Ask yourself, "am I blending my faith with the world?" In other words, are you allowing yourself to blend or bend your faith to allow things in that are not righteous and of God? Is your source of faith and morality the one True God? Or do you allow the voices of culture, celebrities, and the world convince you that certain things are "ok"?
Hey friends! Hope you had an amazing Easter and Happy Resurrection Day!! Today, I wanted to adlib and give some of my unedited thoughts on the cross and why it's the single most important thing about our faith. More specifically, have you ever thought more deeply about the phrase "Jesus died on the cross for our sins"? Like what does that even mean?! Let's chat about it today!
*Correction: There were 6 deaths in the tragedy in Nashville, not 9 like stated on the episode.   Hey friends. This week has been a dark one with the tragedy in Nashville. It has brought the question "why God?" And honestly, I can't really answer that for you. But, I can tell you what I have learned...and that is this world is temporary. And it's time we start blaming evil and darkness for the evil and darkness in the world. God has a plan. We may not understand it. It sometimes is an unimaginably painful plan. But, this world is temporary and it is not our forever home. And friendly reminder, evil might look like it wins here on earth, but they absolutely lose in the very end!
Yep. We are going there today. If God is so good and loving, why does He send people to hell? Hoping this episode helps you!
Hey friends! I am feeling better and back with another episode for you! On today's episode, we are going to dive into what mercy means. And my goal today is to help you grow your perspective on mercy and grace. How God's mercy is big enough to cover any size of sin, not just yours. I see it so many times where "Christians" live thinking their sin isn't as bad or wicked as someone else's sin to the point where it can make unbelievers feel that God's mercy isn't big enough for their sin. That someone they are too far gone and have done too many bad things to be saved. But that is totally not true! So I want to dive into mercy today, and help us remember that God's mercy isn't just for a select few with "minor sins", but it's for ALL who call on the name of Jesus.
Hey friends! Today, I get one a little soapbox and we chat about how the Bible is sooooooo much more than a place for temporary spiritual Band-Aids for our wounds and struggles. We go into Proverbs 2, Ephesians 4, and Hebrews 5 and challenge ourselves to grow our perspective of the Bible and it's true purpose: to grow our faith and help us become better teachers of the gospel so we can disciple others well.
Hey friends! It has been a crazy heck of a week in my life. And, unfortunately, I was not able to get a new episode recorded. But fear not! I am replaying an oldie but goodie about how to not be anxious (because you can't ever talk about not being anxious too much, can you?!) I pray I am back on track next week! Love you all bunches!

Today, we are in Mark 14, when Jesus goes to the garden of Gethsemane. This is where He is full of sorrow and deep distress, to the point of crying tears of blood. What could have caused Jesus to feel such deep sorrow? Perhaps you are feeling deep sorrow, too. This episode of a reminder of two things: 1) Jesus went through every joy and pain and sorrow that you will go through in life. He was fully God but, also, fully human. He felt joy and pain. And this passage is a reminder of that. Our lives won't be pain free because Jesus' life wasn't pain free. 2) We put a lot of focus on the temporary. But I want to remind you that this world and this body is temporary. The pain and sorrow you are going through, even if it feels like it has lasted an eternity, is, in fact, temporary. It will eventually end. And, as believers, we need to remember that our pain here is valid, but we have a promise of something so much more beautiful that this world: heaven!! And that is having an eternal perspective.    Resources www.valreynolds.com Connect with me info@valreynolds.com Follow me @val_reynolds

On today's episode, we are in Mark 9:14-29. In this passage, we find a father who is seeking healing for his son, who is demon possessed. Spoiled Alert: Jesus does, in fact, heal the boy. But that's not the point I want to make today. Today, I want to focus on the father and some simple words he says..."help me overcome my unbelief." Have you ever struggled with unbelief? Don't lie. lol Let's be real. We all, at some point, can say we have struggled with unbelief. Just like this father. So let's learn what to do in our moments of unbelief and how God is the strength we need when we are weak.  Resources www.valreynolds.com Connect with me info@valreynolds.com Follow me @val_reynolds
Hey friends! Welcome to Season 4 of God Is Within Her!! On today's episode, we are going to reflect on our hunger for God and His Word. It is a little too easy to become dependent on someone feeding you His word but yet we never develop the hunger to fed ourselves. Yet the Bible says that we should be hungry and thirsty for righteousness. We should have the desire to seek it out on our own. Does this mean we can't supplement with sermons, podcasts, or seek the advice of someone who is more mature in their faith? Absolutely not! But we do need to develop the desire to seek it out on our own, when no one is there to teach us. Because the best teacher we can have is the Holy Spirit Himself. If you have Him, you have everything you need.    If you love this podcast, please consider pledging just $1 a month to help keep God Is Within Her on the air. https://patron.podbean.com/Godiswithinher Resources www.valreynolds.com Connect with me info@valreynolds.com Follow me @val_reynolds
Hey friends!!! Did ya miss me?! Oh I am so excited to be back for season 4 of God Is Within Her podcast! Gear up as we dive even deeper into God's word and see what His Word says about how to live life well and like Jesus! Not familiar with the podcast? Well, girlllll, let me explain it to you! 😘 GIWH is a devotional podcast for the every day Christian woman! We grow our faith. Grow a closer relationship with God. And grow our confidence through Christ, not self.  This ain’t another “let’s study the book of Esther” devotional, either. No offense to Esther, she is my girl! But why do we focus women Bible studies on, what feels like, only Ruth and Esther? Where is the meat? Where is the theology?  That’s what you’re going to get here. You’ll get roots. You’ll get deep dives. You’ll get tough topics. And, most importantly, we do it all with our eyes fixed on Jesus. If that’s what you’re looking for, congratulations! You found it! See ya in February!    If you love this podcast, please consider pledging just $1 a month to help keep God Is Within Her on the air. https://patron.podbean.com/Godiswithinher Resources www.valreynolds.com Connect with me info@valreynolds.com Follow me @val_reynolds
Hey friends! Welcome to the final episode of Season 3 of God Is Within Her. We will return after the holidays and New Year!  Today we are in 1 Chronicles 21. David, who is coined "a man after God's own heart", isn't a sinless man. Honestly, if David were a modern man, I don't think many of us would look up to him the way we do in the Bible. Just being honest...but David gives us so many lessons on how to truly be a man, or woman, after God's own heart. How he sins, yet repents, and still strives to be obedient to God. Hey friends! Today,  we tackle a hard question that we sometimes will just plain avoid. We might be embarassed to ask the question. Or we might think we are a bad Christian if we ever entertain this question. But sometimes, doesn't it feel like God is unfair? Like why do some people have the dreams you have? Why hasn't God answered your prayer like He has for other people?? How come you feel like your prayers have gone unanswered and life is a struggle, and yet another person's life looks picture perfect and full of blessing and easy street? Well...the answer might not be what you think? *hint* It's less about fairness and more about generosity.  Support the showWork with me // www.valreynolds.com Connect with me // @val_reynolds Collab with me // info@valreynolds.com
Hey friends! If anyone has had a rough week and, perhaps, gotten behind on time with God, this episode is for you. I struggled this past week between work and sick kids. I didn't sleep well at all. Just a couple of hours a night. This made me skip my early morning alarms and my morning quiet time 4 out of the 5 days last week. It left me feeling physically, mentally and spiritually drained. My cup was very empty. So empty, I barely even recorded this podcast.  But then God gave me the message to share: share about how sometimes life happens, we aren't perfect humans, and sometimes we have to show ourselves grace in certain moments or even seasons in our life.  So that is what today's episode is about. Show yourself grace. Don't abuse the grace and allow it to turn into excuses. And let's get determined enough to get back on the horse tomorrow.  Support the showWork with me // www.valreynolds.com Connect with me // @val_reynolds Collab with me // info@valreynolds.com
Hey friends! Today's passages are in Romans 3 and 5. We chat about the balance between being confident in your faith and salvation, but not allowing that confidence to turn into arrogance and pride. We also chat about staying humble in our faith, but not allowing ourselves to become self-deprecating that we feel like we are too messed up for God's grace.  I call it being humbly confident in our faith.  Support the showWork with me // www.valreynolds.com Connect with me // @val_reynolds Collab with me // info@valreynolds.com

Hey friends! Today we are in Romans 14, a passage where Paul tackles the issue of what he calls "disputable matters". These disputable matters are essentials matters that are not black and white in the Bible and leave room for personal conviction from Holy Spirit for us to use discernment to determine what is best for us and our families. Now, personal convictions are not just "my truths" or "my opinion". Personal convictions still must not contradict God's will and design. But they are also not clear, black and white Biblical principals either such as the resurrection, certain things being clear sin, etc. And we must be careful with making sure we are not confusing our personal convictions as Biblical principals for all to follow. There are many areas where Christians can agree to disagree. In the end, we must remember we are all on Team Jesus and we shouldn't let these disputable matters divide us as a church. Hey friends! Today we are in 1 Chronicles 1. I know it's not the most common passage to read and, if you've ever read 1 Chronicles, you might be asking yourself "what in the world can we learn from a bunch of genealogy lists?" Because that is essentially what 1 Chronicles 1-9 are: genealogies that go all the way back to Adam and Eve! So what does this have to do with us in modern times. I promise I have a reason! Turn in to find out!! Support the showWork with me // www.valreynolds.com Connect with me // @val_reynolds Collab with me // info@valreynolds.com
Hey friends! On today's episode, I challenge you and your faith. We dive into what the word faith really means. And I want you to become aware of any points in your faith where you are not led by your hope in the unseen (=God) but you're easily influenced by what you can see. Your circumstance. Your situation.  Is your faith strong when life around you is going great? And does your faith waiver when all you see is struggle and hardship?  Remember, faith is hope in what we do NOT see. Our faith should not be influenced by what we can see around us. That's not true faith at all.  Support the showWork with me // www.valreynolds.com Connect with me // @val_reynolds Collab with me // info@valreynolds.com

I needed this today in so many ways! I opened my Bible app to the last passage I'd read in it. As you gave the scripture for today's cast... I realized it was the very same passage opened in my Bible app... Psalms 23. But GOD!!! Thank you for your faith and beautiful words!
