Hey friends! On today's episode, I challenge you and your faith. We dive into what the word faith really means. And I want you to become aware of any points in your faith where you are not led by your hope in the unseen (=God) but you're easily influenced by what you can see. Your circumstance. Your situation. Is your faith strong when life around you is going great? And does your faith waiver when all you see is struggle and hardship? Remember, faith is hope in what we do NOT see. Our faith should not be influenced by what we can see around us. That's not true faith at all. Support the show
Hey friends! If you are a listener from the very first episode, you would know that episode 1 of this podcast is titled "Feeling Unqualified". And it's an episode were I share my vulnerability and how, when I started this podcast, I didn't feel qualified to do it. I didn't feel like I had the knowledge. I didn't feel like I was a teacher of the word. I felt like there were so many others more qualified to do this than me. But, I wanted to be obedient to what God told me to do. So I did it anyway. Here we are. Almost 3 years later, 1.5 million downloads later...you would think I would be over the fear of feeling unqualified. And you would be wrong.  Recently, I received a message in my inbox of someone asking me why only 3 years of really getting serious about studying my Bible made me qualified to teach. And this message really made me question myself all over again. And I thought about it long a hard and here is what I realized. It's not the amount of years you've been a Christian that makes you qualified to share God's Good News. It's God's grace that He gives freely once you declare Jesus as your Lord and Savior that qualifies you! God qualifies you! And I want to bring encouragement to anyone who is struggling with feeling like "who am I to share about Jesus?" You are a qualified, beloved daughter of the King, sis. That's all the qualification you need!Support the show
Hey friends! On today's episode, I give you a reminder that our lives as Christians are to serve and honor God, not ourselves. It is very easy to get caught up into the "me me me" cycle. We can slip into a faith that isn't so much based on God being sovereign and holy, but one where God is simply here to serve me and make my life easier. But there are two things wrong with that ideology: 1) We are never promise an easy and struggle free life as believers.2) God isn't here to serve us. We are here to serve Him. So join me as we self-reflect on our faith and let's find those areas in our faith where, perhaps, we are a little selfish and need to fix our eyes back on serving Jesus instead of ourselves. Support the show
Hey friends! On today's episode, we tackle a super sensitive topic of how to keep a strong faith and conquer jealousy in the middle of facing personal struggles like infertility, singleness, financial struggles, *insert your personal struggle*.  And I just loved the vulnerability of this question because it takes bravery and courage to even ask this question.  To see your struggle but still want to know how you can turn to God and make it through this. WARNING: I do offer tough love here. So if this is a sensitive topic to you and you're not yet ready for tough love, then hold onto this episode for another day. Hey friends! Today we are in Leviticus 11 and we discuss the Levitical Laws of clean and unclean foods. Do we still need to follow those laws today? And how did Jesus dying on the cross somehow make "unclean" foods clean? Man, what the heck does clean and unclean even mean?! Hey friends! On today's episode, we go to 1 Kings 18 and 19 and study the prophet Elijah (one of my faves!) as we tackle this lie that we are fed by the enemy: that somehow struggling with depression and mental health means we have no faith and we are letting God down. Have you ever thought that to yourself? If you have, this episode is for you. And we are going to shed light and truth to that lie so you can live more confidently in your faith.  Are you apart of my FREE God Is Within Here Facebook Community yet? Hey friends! On today's episode we will be in Ephesians 4: 17-24 as we tackle our inner emotions that are trying to tell us we are doing something wrong when following Jesus is hard. Have you ever felt that way before? You deep down have a yearning for following Jesus more closely, but whenever you make steps towards Him, you feel opposition. You battle voices in your head telling you that you're not doing it right and if you were doing it right, it would be easier. You would understand the Bible better if you were doing it right. Etc. etc. This episode is to help you see past those lies. We aren't promised smooth and easy lives as Christians. But what we are promised is hope, peace and eternal life in heaven. Hey friends! Join here --> God Is Within Here Facebook Community On today's episode, we tackle the question of what to do if you are a believer but your spouse is not. Hey friends! On today's episode, we are going to be in Matthew 26:14-16 -- when Judas goes to the high priests and is willing to take just 30 pieces of silver as payment to turn over Jesus. Anyone else ready 30 pieces of silver and think, "Uh. Is that it?! That is all Judas was willing to take to give Jesus over and betray Him?"But then it got me thinking...what is my version of 30 pieces of silver? What in my life do I value more than Jesus? What do I prioritize over Jesus? What makes Jesus second in my life? Oh the conviction in this episode. Hey friends! Today is the LAST Throwback Thursday of the summer! Yes, kids are back in school and I will be able to get back on a regular routine of Monday and Truth Bomb Thursday Episodes! But on today's episode, we throwback to an episode I did where I describe the difference between being just a believer in Christ and are to imitator of Christ. We aren't just supposed to have faith. We are supposed to walk out our faith as well. We are not supposed to sit idlily by and never show people we are Christians. Words are one thing. What do your ACTIONS say about your faith? Why We Should Forgive

Why We Should Forgive

2022-08-1533:491

Hey friends! On today's episode we tackle the topic on forgiveness again. This time we are in Matthew 19. Jesus gives us a parable about a master and a servant. How the servant owes a huge debt and how the master shows huge grace and compassion to forgive the debt. But then the servant goes and is unforgiving of a friend's debt to him. -- This parable is an example of our huge debt we cannot pay back to God due to our sins. And yet His mercy is just lavished on us and our slates are wiped clean through Jesus Christ. And yet we don't hesitate to hold a grudge against another who has hurt us. Yes, the hurt was real. Yes, they don't have to be in your life. But this parable will put in to perspective why Jesus commands us to forgive one another, because we are forgive by God for our sins.Would you like to have access to even more in-depth and exclusive Jesus-based content? Hey friends! On today's Throwback Thursday episode, we reflect on our heart posture and ask ourselves, "do we have a thankful heart or a complaining heart?" I feel like we all want to have a thankful heart and we will argue that we do! But really be honest with yourself. Do you lean more towards being a complainer and a grumbler? It might be a little bit here and a little bit there, but is your grumbling overshadowing the gratitude in your life? Where are your eyes fixed?Work with me // www.valreynolds.comConnect with me // @val_reynoldsCollab with me // info@valreynolds.comSupport the show
Be Anxious For Nothing

Be Anxious For Nothing

2022-08-0828:27

Hey friends!  On today's episode we are in Philippians 4, where the Apostle Paul gives us the most popular verse over anxiety. Your probably have heard it: DO NOT BE ANXIOUS. Thanks Paul. Didn't think of that one. But seriously, read past that sentence in the passage and Paul painted a clear picture on the action steps we should be taking to overcome and silence our anxiety. How do we have peace even while anxious? Let's chat about it and dissect this passage down! And let's get clear on who is really in charge...and here is a hint...it's not supposed to be the anxiety.Work with me // www.valreynolds.comConnect with me // @val_reynoldsCollab with me // info@valreynolds.comSupport the show
Hey friends! On today's THROWBACK THURSDAY episode, I help you so some self-reflection of your habits: the good and the bad ones. Sometimes habits are so sneaky and silent, we don't even realize how detrimental they are to our faith! Our bad habits can be so common place, even to the point where we just think "that's how we are" or "that is just who I am!" But is it really? Is it really how God created you? Perhaps there are some bad habits you have been in agreement with for far too long and they are holding you back from really transforming and maturing in your faith. Hey friends! On today's episode, I bring in my podcast mentor and friend Stefanie Gass! Stefanie is the host of The Stefanie Gass Show- start a podcast and successful business God's way. Stefanie is a former 6-figure corporate executive turned top 1% network marketer turned podcaster! She helps women find their calling, sharing that calling through podcasting and teach them how to monetize their podcast so they can make an impact while providing an income for their families. We chat about Stef's story and she shares tips on how to do things scared. Overwhelm is a real thing and, many times, it keeps up from walking into the next step. We allow fear to hinder and paralyze us. But, in reality, we know we aren't supposed to fear right? As Christian women, we are called to sometimes walk into that fear and to not be afraid because God had already laid the path in front of us! So join us today as Stef and I talk about fear, overcoming fear and uncertainty, and how you can live more courageously! Hey friends! On today's episode we THROWBACK to when the podcast was called The Beautifully Enough Podcast. We cover this word offense. It's so easy to be offended in today's world. There is always someone disagreeing with us, telling us that we are wrong, trying to start a comment war. Social media doesn't help this issue, does it? And yet, what does the Bible say about taking offense? I find too often, that we are ok with just living offended. Everything offends us and we feel it necessary to constantly try to convince others they are wrong. But in your attempt to correct, are you sinning in other areas like pride, arrogance, unkindness, lacking compassion? Hey friends! In today's episode we go to Matthew 14:22 and Matthew 15:21 to study when Jesus tells Peter "you of little faith, why did you doubt?" and then tells the Canaanite woman "Woman, you have great faith!" What is separating the two? Why does one have little faith and the other have great faith? And how do WE have great faith? Where do we fall? Hey friends! In today's THROWBACK THURSDAY episode, I pull one from when the podcast was titled The Beautifully Enough Podcast. We go back to the story of Rachel and Leah and how they both were married to Jacob. And in the middle of their story, we find some sister rivalry going on. Both pine for Jacob's affection but Jacob truly only has eyes for one. This leads to major comparison and jealousy. Do you struggle with those things too? Do you constantly compare yourself to people on social media or TV? Well, perhaps it's because you've made an idol out of them. Time to refocus and fix our eyes on the One and Only Heavenly Father. He is the only One you need to please. Hey friends! Today is THROWBACK THURSDAY!  And you are listening to an episode I did back when the podcast was originally titled "The Beautifully Enough Podcast". The original title of this episode was "being faithful in the little things". And what I meant by that was: we know to bring our big things to God, right? We know to bring our "mountains" and  "goliaths" to God. But what about the small stuff? Do you ever feel like the small stuff is too small for God to handle? Like you should be strong enough to handle the small stuff on your own, right? But see, God is not that kind of god. He is a God that wants ALL of you. ALL of your struggles: big and small! So be faithful to give Him even the smallest of struggles. He is happy to help guide you through those, too. I just started this week with listening to your podcast from the first one and each one hits me cause it's so true in my life right now. thank you for the daily devotional I don't have a favorite yet, but it's definitely helping in all my struggles right now as a wife, mom of 3 and juggling everyday chaos. Thank you so much.

I needed this today in so many ways! I opened my Bible app to the last passage I'd read in it. As you gave the scripture for today's cast... I realized it was the very same passage opened in my Bible app... Psalms 23. But GOD!!! Thank you for your faith and beautiful words!
