Ever wish you could know exactly what he was thinking? Would you like to have a man's perspective from time to time? Is there a situation you could've used some male intuition in? It's no secret that men and women often THINK and COMMUNICATE differently. In this episode, we have special guest husbands Brandon (Shara's husband) and Rajesh who was on a Season 1 episode with his wife. We're getting their opinions on why it takes so long for men to decide on marriage, how they really feel about "classy, bougie, and ratchet" women, and if marriage is what they thought it'd be.  ______________________________________________________  Like what you heard? 𝗪𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝘄𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱. As mothers and wives, we often put the needs of our children and spouse first. However, we have to take care of ourselves to thrive as mothers and wives. We can't pour into our family and friends if we're pouring from an empty cup. A lot of the times we may feel bad for taking time for ourselves but in reality, if we don't we can't be our best selves. In this episode, we're talking with guest Treanna Neufville of @Modernday_MakeupMommy about self-care and making yourself a priority. Treanna believes that when we invest in ourselves and show up for ourselves it makes us better in all facets of our lives. Unfortunately, many parents among us have endured childhood trauma. Though many have been able to move on with their lives, becoming parents themselves can be triggering. Parenting is hard, but parenting as a survivor of childhood trauma can be extremely difficult and terrifying. We were super excited to chat with Lonnetta "Lonnie" Grant of Lonnie Enterprises and Dynasty Institute! Lonnie is a childhood trauma survivor and the author of "Beauty After Broken". Beauty After Broken was birthed from Lonnetta's personal testimony of survival and determination to rise to the top after experiencing severe trauma as a child. Make sure the little ones are in a different room when you play this episode! We're talking all about cursing - should women (and especially moms) do it? Some people think it is unbecoming of a woman to throw out a f-bomb every now and then. What about the thought that only uneducated people curse (because they don't know other words). With two master degrees over here, we know that's not true! Is cursing only a "privilege" for men or women without kids? In this episode we're discussing our thoughts and experiences with being cursing women and moms...who really don't give a f*ck if you curse too!Episode Resources: Pop Sugar - 𝟳 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗙*𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝘀This episode originally aired on Sept. 16, 2020______________________________________________________ Like what you heard? Shara and Sasha are both lucky enough to have a choice when it comes to sending their boys to school. We both recognize that having that choice is an immense privilege. Some parents make huge sacrifices to get their kids into better schools, both public and private. Either by moving to more expensive districts or choosing pricey private schools.Today, we are discussing the options we have for our children. Private School vs. Public School. Which is the better option for your family, budget, and lifestyle? Have you moved to a certain location solely based on the school system? Did you discuss how your children would be educated with your partner prior to having them? There's a lot that factors into to choosing your child's education. ______________________________________________________ Like what you heard? I Turn To You

I Turn To You

2020-12-3046:57

While Shara and I are both boy moms, we have both been teen girls...and whew! Our mommas had a hard time. When you were a teen, were you able to confide in your mother? Go to her for advice? In this episode, we're joined by a very special guest, Aleeka, The Safe Space Curator and diving into why girls do not talk to their moms, and how mothers can create safe spaces to have conversations with their daughters. Aleeka Moody aka Ms. Aleeka began her work with children about 10 years ago, as a Program Aide with the Boys and Girls Club. From there, she went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from Winthrop University. While at Winthrop, Aleeka discovered her love of working with teens through her time program planning for another organization. Upon returning home, to North Agusta South Carolina, Ms. Aleeka felt that she needed to put the skills she gained in college as well as her time working with teens to better use. Thus came Teen Dreams in the fall of 2014. Ms. Aleeka became a certified youth and family life coach in 2016 and focused her practice solely on teen/tween girls and their moms. Through her practice, Aleeka feels that she can help tween/teen girls find healthy ways to cope with issues that arise in the years that shape their identities. Episode Resources: Ms. Aleekahttps://www.msaleeka.com/______________________________________________________ Like what you heard?
