How can you know when you're actually under spiritual attack? What ways can you discern spiritual warfare from mere physical illness or relational conflict? In this follow-up episode on Spiritual Warfare, Karl Payne goes into further detail on the ways in which a Christian can discern when they're under attack, and when they are not. If you've ever had moments in your relationships, marriage, or temptations and addictions where you felt like you were almost being pushed toward sin and rebellion against God, you may actually be in the midst of spiritual warfare and not even know it. For many Christians in the world, today, Satan and demons just seem like superstitious nonsense, or perhaps outdated and expired, no longer relevant to our modern minds. What if we're mistaken? What if there are forces presently at work in the world, seeking to destroy and devour our peace and joy, and take our eyes off of the only One who can help.In episode 48 of the All of Life Show, Pastor Karl Payne shares his extensive experience and understanding of the issues of spiritual warfare and demonization. Christians need to know that demons are real and active in our world, so we can understand what is happening in our lives, families, churches and communities. In this episode, we discuss how Karl first got involved with demonization, and what he's learned in over 40 years of experience.Buy Karl's Book, Spiritual Warfare, on Amazon:https://amzn.to/3TXpONcKarl's Website:http://karlpayne.orgPARTNER WITH ALL OF LIFE: https://ko-fi.com/alloflifeWebsite:https://www.alloflifeshow.com/Email:feedback@alloflifeshow.comSocial Media:Twitter: https://twitter.com/alloflifeshowInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/alloflifeshow/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AllofLifeShow/Podcast: https://plnk.to/AllofLifeShow?to=pageBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/all-of-life-show--4100466/support.
FREE Trigger Tracker:https://NatalieHixson.com/AllofLife Mothers, Have you ever been so angry with your children that you said or did something you immediately regretted, only to find yourself repeating the same cycle again and again?Anger is often assumed to be a bad emotion; sinful even. Scripture tells us, however, that we are to be "Angry and sin not", and not to let "the sun go down on our anger". The problem arises when we choose to handle our anger in the wrong way, and direct it toward the wrong place. If you've been a parent for longer than a minute, and a mother in particular, you've likely experienced the type of anger that we discuss with our guest, Natalie Hixson. Natalie is a Christian life coach, and uses her early experiences in motherhood to help other moms overcome mommy burnout and explosive anger. Natalie has been through the gauntlet of parenting woes and lived to tell the tale. Now, she coaches mothers seeking to overcome their own issues with anger, and she does so by directing them to the hope only found in the gospel of Jesus Christ.PARTNER WITH ALL OF LIFE: https://ko-fi.com/alloflifeWebsite:https://www.alloflifeshow.com/Email:feedback@alloflifeshow.comSocial Media:Twitter: https://twitter.com/alloflifeshowInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/alloflifeshow/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AllofLifeShow/Podcast: https://plnk.to/AllofLifeShow?to=pageBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/all-of-life-show--4100466/support.
Support the Show: https://ko-fi.com/alloflifeWe've all be guilty of throwing around terms while assuming others fully grasp what we mean. When it comes the the Christian faith, the gospel is no different. What does it mean when people say, "The gospel is for all of life"? How does the gospel actually apply to things like marriage, parenting, relationships, counseling, politics, and more? Is it just a resource among many useful tools and resources available? What even is "The Gospel"?The sooner we grasp the importance of the gospel for the Christian life, the sooner we will see growth that comes from surrendering to the truth of God's word, and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. In this episode, we dig into the high-level overview of the gospel, and what it means that the gospel of Jesus Christ is for all of life. Western society seems hyper-focused on chasing down anything that might promise even just a little happiness, but then quickly dissatisfied and disappointed once they've obtained their objective. The most advanced nations also struggle with some of the highest rates of depression, meanwhile, many poor and emerging nations actually report some of the lowest numbers. How can this be? How can they have joy when they have so little, while those with much are rarely ever satisfied? On this episode of the All of Life Show, we discuss the differences between happiness and joy, and discover that true joy comes, not from what we have, but from Who has us. We're back, and we've got some big news to share with you! When God calls us, He calls us to be faithful, but how often do we ignore or shirk our responsibility toward faithfulness and replace it with simply being comfortable? In this episode of the All of Life Show, we share about the journey that God has had us on, and where He has led us. Listening to God's voice and seeking His will is often quite different than we might picture it. We've learned that in whatever we're doing, we must do it in faith. In fact, that's what God is looking for; faith. Apart from faith it is impossible to please Him. That can sound ominous until you consider the implications; when we operate in faith in God, His promises, and, most of all, faith in the finished work of Jesus, we can't NOT please Him! This ends up being wildly freeing! Are you walking in faith? Do you want to?Website:https://www.alloflifeshow.com/Email:feedback@alloflifeshow.comSocial Media:Twitter: https://twitter.com/alloflifeshowInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/alloflifeshow/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AllofLifeShow/Podcast: https://plnk.to/AllofLifeShow?to=pageBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/all-of-life-show--4100466/support.
Is cryptocurrency something that Christians should be involved in? Isn't Bitcoin used for illegal activities? What about the Mark of the Beast? When it comes to the world of cryptocurrencies, Christians can often find it difficult to know how to approach things from a Biblical perspective. Tim Bertram decided to bridge the gap by creating TheCryptoChristian.com; a website that specifically tackles the questions and issues that Christians have when it come to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and helps bring clarity to the believer. In our culture, today, there are so many ideas and voices competing with the voice of Truth found in the Word of God. Consequently, Christians have become more confused than ever with how to think Biblically regarding issues pertaining to gender and sexuality. In part two of our interview with Professor Nancy Pearcey, we discuss her most recent book, Love Thy Body, and hear how a Christian can walk in love without compromising truth and faithfulness to God's Word. Nancy Pearcey is the author of Love Thy Body: Answering Hard Questions about Life and Sexuality. Her earlier books include The Soul of Science, Saving Leonardo, Finding Truth, and two ECPA Gold Medallion Award Winners: How Now Shall We Live (coauthored with Harold Fickett and Chuck Colson) and Total Truth. Her books have been translated into nine languages. She is professor and scholar in residence at Houston Baptist University. A former agnostic, Pearcey has spoken at universities such as Princeton, Stanford, USC, and Dartmouth. She was highlighted as one of the five top women apologists by Christianity Today and was hailed in The Economist as "America's pre-eminent evangelical Protestant female intellectual."Links to Nancy's Books:Total Truth: https://www.amazon.com/Total-Truth-Study-Guide-Christianity/dp/1433502208Love Thy Body: https://www.amazon.com/Love-Thy-Body-Answering-Questions/dp/0801075726The Soul of Science: https://www.amazon.com/Soul-Science-Christian-Natural-Philosophy/dp/0891077669Saving Leonardo: https://www.amazon.com/Saving-Leonardo-Secular-Assault-Meaning/dp/1433669277Finding Truth: https://www.amazon.com/Finding-Truth-Principles-Secularism-Substitutes/dp/0781413087How Now Shall We Live?: https://www.amazon.com/How-Now-Shall-We-Live/dp/084235588XBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/all-of-life-show--4100466/support.
What is Truth? How can we know it? In our modern era, we have developed a belief about truth that is, quite simply, not true. In this episode of the All of Life Show, we interview Professor Nancy Pearcey about one of her books, Total Truth, and discuss the way that the truth has been divided into the realms of sacred and secular, and how Christians must understand and overcome this if we are to be effective.Nancy Pearcey is the author of Love Thy Body: Answering Hard Questions about Life and Sexuality. In a day and age when it seems like even the most faithful of Christians are falling by the wayside and walking away from the faith, the believer needs to be strengthened in their resolve. This is nothing new, however. In fact, the Apostle Paul wrote the letters to the Colossians for just such a thing. Many were being taken captive by persuasive and convincing philosophies of their age, so Paul pointed them back to Jesus Christ, the One in Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.www.alloflifeshow.com Mentioned on this episode:Alisa Childers: https://www.youtube.com/user/alisachildersHer Book, "Another Gospel": https://amzn.to/3sHILFgThumbnail photo credit: Michael Dziedzichttps://unsplash.com/@lazycreekimagesBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/all-of-life-show--4100466/support.

What is the Gospel?

What is the Gospel?

2021-01-2546:33

It would be natural to assume that if a person claims to be a Christian, then knowing and understanding the Gospel and how to present it is a given! Surprisingly, many Christians struggle to have a Biblical understanding of the Gospel, and the ability to rightly articulate it. How does this disconnect happen, and how can it be improved? In this episode, we dig into the question, "What is the Gospel", and seek to offer up a framework to properly understand and articulate it. Special thanks to Greg Gilbert for writing his book, What is the Gospel?. We lean heavily upon his work to help present a framework that all believers can remember utilize in preaching the Gospel to those who have not heard. Not only this, but the believer can better remind and apply the Gospel to every area of their Christian life. Also, thank you to Marc Minter for providing a very nice summary of Greg Gilbert's book, on his website, www.marcminter.comIf you'd like to get your own copy of What is the Gospel?, you can get it here:https://tinyurl.com/y42nj4ooVisit Marc Minter's site and grab a copy of his summary of the book:https://marcminter.com/2018/10/15/a-summary-of-what-is-the-gospel-by-greg-gilbert-in-22-quotes/Thumbnail photo by Anthony Garand on UnsplashBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/all-of-life-show--4100466/support.
In today's world, Christians have been pressed to accept and adopt the belief that there are two worlds to live in; the sacred and the secular. The sacred is the realm of religious "truth", while the secular is the realm of your public life, which includes everything from science to marriage. The myth is that the two should never meet because they have not business doing so. This isn't what scripture teaches, however.
