As leaders and business owners - and, well, humans - most of us will experience burnout at some point in our lives and careers. Leadership burnout is increasingly common, and entrepreneur burnout is coming in a close second. In this episode I'm talking with Amber Zaricor of the Fill Your Cup Conference. We explore the importance and practicalities of filling your cup as a leader, how to heal from burnout, and ways to encourage your team to fill their cup.Full shownotes are at www.joytolead.com/amber-zaricor-leader-burnout-fill-your-cupDon't Lead Alone!Through the Joy to Lead® Academy you can equip yourself for leading a team with our courses on leadership, team management, and recruitment and onboarding.
One year ago today I was preparing for my first maternity leave as a business owner. As an entrepreneur, I had no idea what to expect from creating my own maternity leave and there really weren't any resources available for how to prepare for a maternity leave as an entrepreneur. There still isn’t. So, in today’s episode of the Joy to Lead Podcast I’m pulling back the curtain on my 5-month, 5-phase maternity leave, focusing specifically on how I prepared and structured the maternity leave as an entrepreneur and how you can do the same.Find shownotes and links at https://joytolead.com/maternity-leave-for-small-business-owners/Don't Lead Alone!Through the Joy to Lead® Academy you can equip yourself for leading a team with our courses on leadership, team management, and recruitment and onboarding. In the Joy to Lead® Community, you can immerse yourself in a supportive, welcoming and bolstering community of leaders. What we believe becomes how we act, and our actions shape our reality. Therefore, in a way, what you believe to be true inevitably becomes true. This is why our inner critic is such a powerful voice, and why affirmations can be transformational for us as leaders. In today’s episode of the Joy to Lead Podcast, we’re pulling back the curtain on affirmations and positive self talk and belief. We lead from the inside out!Find shownotes and links at www.joytolead.com/affirmationsDon't Lead Alone!Through the Joy to Lead® Academy you can equip yourself for leading a team with our courses on leadership, team management, and recruitment and onboarding. In the Joy to Lead® Community, you can immerse yourself in a supportive, welcoming and bolstering community of leaders. How often do you as a leader feel like you’re “winging it?” You’d never admit that to your team, of course, but there’s an underlying worry saying, “if only they knew. They’re going to realize it soon enough.” Without a leadership development plan, this is likely your norm.Shownotes and links can be found at joytolead.com/leadership-development-planDon't Lead Alone!Through the Joy to Lead® Academy you can equip yourself for leading a team with our courses on leadership, team management, and recruitment and onboarding. In the Joy to Lead® Community, you can immerse yourself in a supportive, welcoming and bolstering community of leaders. We all want to be a better leader, but it's hard to picture what it's like to experience our leadership - right? We try to communicate better, to have more team meetings, to ask our team members how they are doing, but at the end of the day we're left wondering if it's even enough.Today on the Joy to Lead® Podcast we're diving into the ways your team members wish you were stepping up in your leadership - things they wouldn't say to your face (or, things they don't have the words for).Full shownotes and links can be found at www.joytolead.com/be-a-better-leaderDon't Lead Alone!Through the Joy to Lead® Academy you can equip yourself for leading a team with our courses on leadership, team management, and recruitment and onboarding. In the Joy to Lead® Community, you can immerse yourself in a supportive, welcoming and bolstering community of leaders. Following a difficult postpartum season, I went on an unintentional but amazing social media sabbatical. That social media sabbatical lasted about 9 months and helped me heal from anxiety and overwhelm in my life.Taking a social media sabbatical was one of the best decisions I've made as a business owner, mom, partner, and human being. It's also something I'm going to be repeating regularly. On today's podcast I'm going to share some of the things that made this social media sabbatical so effective, as well as my major takeaways and learning experiences.
