Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   You’re sending emails to your audience, right?   Sending weekly emails is a must, so if you’re not doing it yet, this episode is definitely for you. I’m joined by email-marketing expert Bobby Klinck, and we’re talking all about the emails that you’re writing and sending to your audience.    The time you spend writing to your email list is more valuable than the time you spend creating Reels or TikToks or Facebook posts because your emails are going straight to your readers’ inboxes. If you’re not taking advantage of email, you’re missing an opportunity to build connections and relationships with your people.    In this episode, Bobby is walking you through how to write emails that people actually want to read, the basic structure of a good email, why you should rethink the purpose of your emails, and so much more.    Bobby Klinck is a Harvard lawyer turned online entrepreneur. He helps serve-first online entrepreneurs build lasting businesses that they love so that they can support their families and truly serve their audiences.   Episode 93 Takeaways:    + Email is the most valuable way to reach your audience. + Write emails that people actually want to read.  + You should sound like a person, not a company.  + Don't write your emails just to check a box.  + Email builds a connection between you and your audience.  + Your audience wants to get to know you.  + People don’t connect with writing that is overly technical or formal.  + Lean into your personality.  + Subject lines aren’t as important as you think.  + Don’t trick people into opening your emails.  + Make note of stories as they happen or as you think of them.    Don’t wait until you have the perfect email sequence to get started. The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll start improving. If you’ve been wondering where to start, you’re in the right place.    You can get your hands on Bobby’s new book, Email Marketing That Doesn't Suck, by clicking HERE or searching for it on Amazon. If you’re trying to up your email game, this is a must-read.    I would love to connect with you! Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Have you ever worked with a mindset coach?   Getting a mindset coach was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I make every single one of our meetings a priority in my schedule. My coach, Neill Williams, has helped me with everything from managing my time to changing my mindset around things like goals and money.    In this episode, I’m sharing 5 of the most important lessons that I’ve learned from her. Each one of these lessons has had an invaluable impact on my life and business.    Whether you have a coach of your own or you’ve never even heard of mindset coaches, this episode has something for you.    Episode 92 Takeaways:  + Mindset coaches are invaluable.  + Make sure you’re problem-solving before the problem pops up.  + You should be making decisions ahead of time.  + Plan for results, not just what you’re going to be working on. + Schedule thinking time.  + Money is just a data point.  + More money allows you to have a bigger impact.  + Goals aren’t about meeting a number, they're about what you learn along the way.  + If you don’t meet a goal, it doesn't mean you’ve failed.    I could talk forever about things I’ve learned from my coach, but the 5 lessons in this episode are some of the most valuable. I hope something from this episode resonates with you and helps you to go out and have a bigger impact.    You can find out more about Neill on her website, follow her on Instagram under the handle @neillwilliamscoach, or tune in to the Unbusy Your Life podcast.    I would love to connect with you! Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Do you have yearly planning retreats? In this episode, I’m telling you why I think you should.    My team and I have a planning retreat every year that I find so valuable, so I wanted to tell you what our retreats look like and help you decide whether a planning retreat would be a good idea for you.    I'm sharing everything you need to know about why we have planning retreats and what we cover at them. In this episode, you’ll learn when and where to have a retreat, how to prepare, and how to make sure the things that you plan at the retreat get implemented afterward.    Whether you’ve had a planning retreat before or this is your first time hearing about them, this episode will help you figure out how to plan one for your business.     Episode 91 Takeaways:  + Work your business around your personal life, not your personal life around your business.  + Decide how many hours you want to work and then fit in the most important things.  + You don’t have to have a team to enjoy the benefits of a planning retreat.  + There is value in celebrating and learning from the previous year.  + You should be setting goals every year.  + Have fun, bond, and socialize with your team.  + It doesn't have to be January to have a planning retreat, you can have one now.  + Make decisions based on numbers.  + Don’t forget about your ideas after the retreat.    This episode will help you plan your retreat from beginning to end. Even if you don’t have a team, I've included ideas to help you plan a solo retreat. I think you should give it a try.    Find me on Instagram and let me know if you’ve ever hosted or attended a planning retreat before! Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   What if I told you there was a marketing trick that could triple your sales?    Chloe Tascoff is here talking about something unique to our businesses that we are not doing nearly enough of, and that’s using product videos.    Product videos are a great way to increase sales, but if you’ve never made one, you probably have a lot of questions about them.    How do you make these videos? What equipment should you use? How long should they be? What do you put in them? I don’t have all the answers, but our guest does.   Chloe is sharing some of her best tips for making high-quality product videos that stop people in the middle of their scrolling and boost your sales.    Chloe Tascoff is a teacher-author and video marketing guru in the teacher niche. She’s created almost 2,000 videos for her client’s products and her own products too. She helps digital & physical product creators to market the true value of their offerings by creating product highlight videos that stand out, attract loyal customers, and get repeatable sales through her signature program. She specializes in using marketing psychology and clean, professional video backgrounds to showcase how your product will make a teacher’s life easier or more convenient. Her videos can be used for product previews, pins, and much more!   Episode 90 Takeaways:  + Video sells.  + Product videos are versatile and easy to repurpose.  + You can make videos for digital products. + Videos make a product feel real to a buyer.  + People stop their scroll to watch videos. + Video is the highest converting form of media for online sales.  + Natural light is a great tool.  + Use a white poster board as a background.  + Give viewers enough time to see what’s in the video.  + Test things.    Product videos are seriously underutilized. I hope this episode gives you some inspiration to get started creating your own videos or even hiring someone to help you. If you’re not sure where to start, pick your best-selling product and go from there!    If you don’t want to create your own videos, check out Chloe’s website, www.hello.chloetascoff.com, to find out how to work with her.    I would love to connect with you! Do you have an email list? If not, let’s do something about that.    In this episode, we are talking all about email list building. We’re going over mistakes that teacher entrepreneurs make when they are growing their email lists and what to do instead.    We all make mistakes. In fact, making mistakes is how we learn better strategies, so don’t feel bad if you are doing any of the things we talk about in this episode. Use it as an opportunity to grow!    We’re covering marketing, lead magnets, target audiences, and so many other important topics, so don’t miss it!   Episode 89 Takeaways:    + The biggest mistake you can make is not growing a list at all.  + You don’t need to wait to start a list.  + Your email list is your most powerful marketing tool.  + Don’t grow a list by offering a newsletter.  + You want to come across to your audience as a friend.  + Lead magnets are valuable.  + Grow a list with a lead magnet that is targeted to a specific audience.  + Quality is better than quantity when it comes to leads.  + Don’t use a freebie library to grow your list.  + Market your lead magnet.    I made most of the mistakes that are in this episode, so I’ve been there. If you can focus on just one of them and start to improve it, that’s a win.    I have created a workshop all about email list building. It’s a two-hour workshop that goes through choosing the perfect lead magnet, creating the landing page, and doing the marketing. Plus, I’m throwing in a bonus that will get your list to buy from you during your first week. Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Have you bought into the lie that teachers aren’t going to buy a course from you? Let’s break that down and talk about why they ARE!    In this episode, I'm excited to talk to you about the six reasons that digital courses are perfect for teacher entrepreneurs. I’m so excited to talk about this because I often read misbeliefs about digital course creation inside Facebook groups that are completely untrue, and I want to clear some of them up for you.    I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone post in an entrepreneur group that digital courses only work for people who are selling them to other entrepreneurs. They think that digital courses are only for entrepreneurs who are ultimately going to make money so therefore they are the only ones willing to pay for a course.    Well, I'm here to tell you that that is hogwash. There are tons of super successful course creators out there who are not selling to other entrepreneurs, and I'm one of them! I created a course for teachers, and I think it was super successful. I had a six-figure launch the first time around, and then I nearly doubled it. And I'm not the only success story. I'm not the only one out there who's created a course in an industry where someone isn't going to make money from the course they bought.    Another thing I hear people asking is “can teachers really afford to pay for a course out of their own pocket?” No surprise, my answer is YES!    Let me share with you six reasons that creating a  course is perfect for teacher entrepreneurs. Then, I think you’ll see why we need more people making courses for teachers.    Episode 88 Takeaways:    + Teachers are lifelong learners. + Teachers need Professional Development in order to keep their licenses. + You can teach applicable strategies that university education programs often don't include. + You have this opportunity to offer a Professional Development experience that is superior to some of the experiences they've had in school. + You're already an expert with proven results. + You already know how to teach.    I hope I’ve convinced you that teacher entrepreneurs should be creating more digital courses.    So, are you ready to create your digital course? Are you ready to provide the training that your audience has been begging for? If so, I want you to join Amy Porterfield’s Digital Course Academy. I want you to have a huge impact on your teacher audience, so I have decided to offer a set of bonuses to any teacher entrepreneur who wants to sign up for Digital Course Academy through my link HERE! When you join, you will get access to the course, ALL of Amy’s bonuses plus the ones I am throwing in!   I would love to connect with you! Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   If you created a digital course, what would it be about?    If you’ve been thinking that a digital course might be in your future but you’re not sure what to make it about, this is the episode for you.    I’m giving you three quick and simple questions to ask yourself to generate some ideas for a course topic that would be right for you.    Even if you haven’t thought about creating a digital course yet, I want you to try this exercise. It will give you some good topic ideas for other content, or you can stash them away for future courses when the time comes.    You’ll walk away from this episode with three different ways to come up with the course topic that's right for you as a teacher entrepreneur.    Episode 87 Takeaways:  + Think about what questions buyers are asking about your biggest product line. + Don’t create a course on how to use your resource.  + Create a course that complements your product.  + Write down all of the course ideas that you have.  + If your audience is still asking questions then it means there's still room for a course. + If you’ve already created content on a topic, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t create a course on it too.  + You should be passionate about your topic.  + Take inspiration from your social media.  + Teach about the thing that seems easy or obvious to you.    These are the quickest, easiest, and best ways to come up with a topic for your course. I don’t want to overwhelm you with lots of ideas because that will just make it harder to narrow down to one.    I hope this gives you some ideas and gets you thinking about what your course topic will be.    Amy Porterfield has a free training called 5 Little Known Mistakes Most Course Creators Make and What to Do Instead, and I want you to join me for it. Amy’s trainings are always amazing, but I’m especially excited for this one. Plus, it will be a great opportunity for you to see how she teaches online. Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   What would you say if I told you that there’s a way for teachers to make more money and get more free time?   Do you want to know what it is? Digital course creation.    In this episode, I’m chatting with none other than Amy Porterfield, the queen of all things course creation, and I’m asking her as many questions as I can fit into one podcast episode.    She’s sharing things like who should create a course, the mistakes that first-time course creators make, and some of the mindset issues that course creators face.    Amy has a soft spot for teachers, and she totally gets what it’s like to be a teacher wanting to create a course. She knows that we’re a little different from a lot of other entrepreneurs, so that’s why I thought she would be the perfect person to answer our questions.    Episode 86 Takeaways:  + Don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be. + Focus on one course and launch it a few times before you move on to something else.  + You can make changes and improvements after your first launch. + Ask your audience what they need and want.  + Don’t spend too much time on the name or logo. + You can make money off of courses at lower price points.  + Keep your audience out of the overwhelm.  + You don’t need to be the expert of all experts.  + A digital course can give you freedom.    Are you going to create a course? Maybe a course is right for you or maybe not, but for me, it was a total game-changer. Either way, I hope Amy answers some of your questions about what goes into it!   Right now, you can get a sneak peek at Amy’s course that takes you through creating your own course from beginning to end. Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Have you ever thought about creating a course? What stopped you? Feeling like no one would buy it? Teachers couldn’t afford it? You not being qualified?   I dealt with all those thoughts too, and guess what? None of them turned out to be true! I want to tell you the story of how I decided to create a course in the hopes that it helps you to create yours, and I’ve brought my friend Bobby Klinck along to help me.    In this episode, we’re switching things up, and he’s interviewing me!    We’re starting back before I ever thought about creating a course and then going through what led me to create a course, what that was like, and what I learned along the way.    Episode 85 Takeaways:  + If people ask you a lot of questions about something, it might be a sign that you could create a course about it. + Just because something seems obvious to you, doesn’t mean it’s obvious to other people.  + Your audience needs your help.  + It’s natural to experience imposter syndrome.  + You don’t need to write at a high academic level.  + You don’t need to be good with tech to launch a course. + Your audience needs you to go back to basics. + Don’t base your price off of other people’s prices. Base it off of your audience.  + Get the right people in your audience and build relationships with them.   Chatting with Bobby is so much fun. I hope that you enjoy getting to know him a little bit in this episode all about courses. If you’ve been on the fence about creating a course, I hope that my story is inspiring to you!    If you are thinking about creating a course, I have something special to share with you. Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Are you thinking about retiring your spouse and bringing them into your business?   First of all, congratulations! That’s a big step, and it’s exciting that you’re even considering it. I know that you probably have a lot of questions about what this process might look like for you, so I brought my husband, Scott, onto the podcast to talk all about working with a spouse.    Whenever I mention that my husband works with me, I get so many questions from people who want to retire their spouses but aren’t sure how which is why I wanted to make this episode for you.    Scott and I are chatting about our back story, what it’s like to work together, and what Scott has worked on in the business over the years. We’re sharing five tips to help you work together without wanting to kill each other as well as some ideas for what your spouse could do in your business. Grab a pen and paper, and get ready to write down the ideas that resonate with you!   Episode 84 Takeaways:  + Have realistic expectations for working with your spouse.  + It takes time and trying things out to find the perfect role for your spouse.  + Just because you’re retiring your spouse doesn't necessarily mean they want to work in your business. + Everyone’s timing is different. + Make sure that your spouse is working in their area of genius. + Stay in your lane. + Declare your work time.  + Declare your workspace.  + Have fun working together.  + Your spouse can learn how to do new things.    Bringing your spouse home to work with you is exciting and rewarding, but it does take a little bit of time and work to get it right.    I want you to know that we’re not perfect and no one is, so it’s really important to have realistic expectations for working with your spouse.   The most important thing to make sure of is that your spouse is doing something they love and working in their zone of genius. If they don’t want to work in your business, that’s okay, but if they do, I hope this episode helps you to get started.  I would love to connect with you! Here’s what I think: You are underpricing your resources.  I know this to be true because I do it too. We want to create resources that teachers can afford, so we undersell ourselves. What if it doesn’t have to be that way? In this episode, I am sharing 5 tips to help you decide on fair prices for your TpT resources. Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast! How much time do you spend writing product descriptions? Do you tend to leave them until the last minute?  This is a really important topic that we sometimes let slide. Product descriptions are actually super important! They are basically little sales pages for every single one of your products.  In my experience, there have been times when I’ve put so much work into creating a product that when it came to listing it and writing a description, I just threw something together quickly and moved on.  In this episode, I am breaking down why you should prioritize product descriptions, and I’m sharing a few tips on writing TpT product descriptions that sell.    Episode 78 Takeaways:  + Write your product descriptions in advance.  + Every single one of your product descriptions is a sales page. + Don’t make product descriptions the last part of product creation.  + It only takes a little time to make your product descriptions stand out.  + The snippet is an important part of your description.  + Use keywords naturally. + Tell the buyer how your resource solves their problem. + Write about the benefits of your product. + Address questions that buyers might have about your product. + Highlight positive feedback in your description. + Be careful about linking to related resources.  + Be short and concise.    For more information, additional help, or to hear my top tips for writing product descriptions that sell, tune in! Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Do you want to make July one of your biggest months of revenue?    I want to share three strategies that you can use to increase your Teachers Pay Teachers sales in the month of July.   Every year around this time, I see teacher entrepreneurs saying that their sales are slow, and a lot of people tell them to just take the month off because no one buys in July anyway. Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   What conferences are you hoping to get to this year?   I’ve been to a lot of different conferences over the years, so I've learned so much about how to prepare myself to get the most out of them.   I truly believe that conferences are a great investment. I know they can get pricey, but they are great learning experiences, motivators, and places to make new friends.    If you've ever been to a business conference, you know that while it is all of those things, it can also be overwhelming.   To try to make it less overwhelming, I’m breaking down 5 tips that I think are going to help you to get the most out of conferences based on what I have learned and done at all the conferences I've been to.   Episode 76 Takeaways:  + You are not meant to listen to every presentation or take action on everything that you hear at a conference. + Pick what sessions you are going to go to before the conference. + Do what’s going to help you be successful.  + Choose a note-taking system that works for you. + Turn off notifications or use a device without social media on it. + Be flexible and open to changing your schedule. + Have an accountability partner. + Take time to prioritize your action item list after the conference.   The tips that I have for you in this episode will help you to get the most out of your conferences and retreats this year and for many years ahead, so tune in!   I would love to connect with you! Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Are you thinking about creating a freebie library?    This is something that I get pretty passionate about, so buckle up because I am being really upfront about how I feel about them in this episode.   As you can tell from the title, I do not have a freebie library, and I'm sharing with you the 6 reasons why I never will.    Some of you probably have a freebie library, and if you’re super happy with its conversion rate and you love having one, this episode might not be for you.    But I do get a lot of questions from people who are thinking about setting one up, so I thought it would be helpful for me to bring all of my answers together in this episode.    Episode 75 Takeaways:    + A freebie library is a collection of freebies that someone gets access to when they give you their email address.  + Freebie libraries are not so popular outside of the teaching space.  + You won’t know what specific freebie each individual signed up for.  + A standard lead magnet makes it easier to sell on the back end. + It makes it harder to be known for something when you're = giving away all kinds of things. + A freebie library gives your audience decision fatigue. + Freebie libraries often aren’t the best examples of your work.  + You don’t want to attract an audience that is only looking for freebies. + You will forever be answering emails about lost passwords for a freebie library. + Having the right people on your list is better than a large list.    You shouldn’t feel like you have to make a freebie library just because you think everyone else is doing it...   I encourage you to really ask yourself what your goals are and how that library will or will not help you to meet those goals. If it won’t help, you don’t have to make it!   For more of my thoughts and an explanation on why I feel this way, tune in!   I would love to connect with you! Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Do you hate looking at your numbers?   I get it. I think a lot of creative, visionary types tend to struggle with the data and numbers side of their business, but it is super important to understand them!   In this episode, I am going to simplify things for you.    We are chatting about data generally, but we’re also going to be diving into the specifics of using your TpT conversion rate. We're going to talk about what it means, why you might have a low conversion rate, why you might have a high conversion rate, what you could do with your conversion rate, and how we use conversion rates to make decisions regarding our Facebook ads.   I’m bringing on my husband, Scott, to talk about this because he’s my data guy, and he’ll be able to answer all of our questions.    Even if you don't like looking at the numbers in your business, this episode is for you.    Episode 74 Takeaways:    + You want to look at data that directly affects your outcome.  + Compare your numbers to your own past numbers.  + Track numbers weekly rather than daily or hourly.  + You need to be making decisions based on data.  + A conversion rate tells you how many people it takes to click on your product before someone buys it.  + Don’t decrease your price to increase your conversion rate. + Improve your listing to improve your conversion rate. + Calculate your earnings per click.    It’s important to have someone tracking the numbers in your business, so if it’s not going to be you, make sure you bring someone on to do it for you.    Once you’ve collected some data, you can use it to make decisions about what products to make, what products to promote, whether to add budget to your Facebook ads or turn them off. Your numbers will tell you what to do.   Don’t forget to leave a review letting me know what you think of the podcast! I love to read them, and I really appreciate it.    I would love to connect with you! You can find me on Instagram at @not_so_wimpy_entrepreneur.
