On this episode we have Razzy Bailey and we get into an honest conversation about the current state of country music today, from the point of view of two legends, Jim Vest and Razzy, and Marty Ray. We also get to ask Razzy about the Universal Studios fire that burned up all his master recordings. Crazy and sad stuff. This is a must listen! We have a new format coming soon where we will have video as well as audio. Find all Razzy Bailey's music anywhere music is consumed. PLEASE Subscribe, Rate & Review, and Download wether you like it or not. Thanks so much for listening!
I hope everyone is healthy and happy at the time of this post! The storm and coronavirus has delayed us here in Nashville slightly, but we're still created content and posting every week, this delay will be a constant. A new episode will be up every Monday from this point forward. This weeks episode is a fun one with a friend of Jim's and now a friend of mine, Buddy Hyatt, on to talk about the crazy way he became a touring member of the band TOTO. Buddy has worked with other monster artists as well like: Randy Travis, JoDee Mesina, Tracy Lawrence, and Lee Brice, to name a few. He now has his own studio in Nashville called Music City Trax and you can go to www.buddyhyatt.com to book your next session with him and the man Jim Vest. Speaking of Jim, theres a story that Buddy tells about him and Jim that involves a boat, an upset stomach, and some poop that you have to hear. Mark tells us what he thinks about certain fighters like: Jon Jones, Brock Lesnar, and others. He also gives insight into what its like to fight someone that uses steroids and the cost for him afterwards. This one is packed with great conversation so please join us for this chat. Roni Stoneman is chocked full of legendary stories and history in music and TV. This episode is a little longer than normal because I wanted to be able to get as much of her awesomeness in it as possible. She started with the legendary Stoneman Family with her father, Ernest "Pop" Stoneman, who recorded the first ever one million seller country record and he was the first one recorded by Thomas Edison himself. She was one of the first female banjo players. She left the Stoneman Family and got a role on the legendary TV show, Hee Haw, where she would stay for several years making audiences laugh and dance. She was told she was too ugly to play at certain clubs, but she pressed on. Speaking of which, she now has a book out called, "Pressing On", which you can get at the link below. Thanks so much for coming out and chatting with us Roni, you're an absolute legend. Thank y"all for tuning in and for rating reviewing and subscribing! We love ya dearly. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0252074343?tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
Chris Wallin is a prolific songwriter with multiple Billboard number one hit songs. He wrote Something To Be Proud Of for Montgomery Gentry and it went to number one then knocked his own song out of the number one spot with his other song, Don't Blink for Kenny Chesney. He might be one of the only ones to ever do that as a songwriter. We had a blast chatting with him here, come listen in. He does a song at the end that moved me to tears, Satan Knew My Grandma Well. If you enjoy our show spread the word! SUBSCRIBE, DOWNLOAD, RATE & REVIEW! Love ya! CHECK OUT Chris Wallin & Cledus T. Judds new show here https://www.hitsandgiggles.show/
In this episode of The Marty Ray Project: Chats, Jim and Marty get the inside scoop on what its like on the inside of the hit TV show The Voice, well, from at least Craig Wayne Boyds perspective. Craig is the winner of season 7 of The Voice and he was on Blake Sheltons team; he says Blake told him he had to get a certain pair of boots after he won. Give a listen and learn a little bit of what its like being on the show, winning the show, and life after the show. Thank so much for all the love on the first two episodes! There will be a new one every week so keep your notifications on! PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, RATE, REVIEW, & DOWNLOAD, they say it helps or something. Don't make us have to beg ya. LOVE YALL!

In this one we chat with each other and get into everything from Jim's illustrious career as a player and producer and also a glimpse at some of the people that he and I have met along our journey. He's met far more than me. We talk about everything from Country Music Hall Of Fame to Hulk Hogan calling him and asking him to help him break his daughter Brooke into the business. It's a good one.
