Ky’s parents gave up their home and businesses, and the family of eight escaped. They suffered from starvation and were forced to eat whatever they could find, including bugs and insects. In the end, only he and his mother survived. Thanks to a loving family in Seattle, Washington who sponsored them, Ky and his mother came to the U.S. as refugees. Through time, Ky and his mother made it out on their own and moved to Los Angeles, where Ky spent his teenage years. Ky also talks about his adult life and how he raises his sons to appreciate the freedom and conveniences that he didn't have. We hope you enjoy this episode!
