The Lord of the Rings trilogy is still held up today as a masterpiece of cinema. So many things seemed to come together perfectly for the films to create something people can enjoy watching over and over again. So, this only added to people's disappointment when the Hobbit films turned out to be very mediocre.
This week on the podcast, Zach and Emma discuss what they liked about both of these trilogies, what they didn't like about the Hobbit, and why.

Last year The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda took the world by storm, and now a new season is coming later this year! Finally, we are talking about this unique new piece of the Star Wars universe, our thoughts on the first season, and our expectations for the next one (we're only a *few* months late on all that).
With the conclusion of its final season earlier this year, the TV show Agents of SHIELD has now come to an end. It has certainly had its ups and downs, but the show was able to bring its run to a close with a solid and satisfying finale. Zach and Emma talk about that and more this week on the podcast!
Nowadays the movie industry is filled with reboots, sequels, and recycled plots, as most studios just look for a way to make a quick buck. As a result, more unique, meaningful stories that really add something to the world are left by the wayside. This might lead some people to wonder, is creativity dead?
This week on the podcast, Zach and Emma attempt to answer that very question and what direction they would like the movie industry to go instead.
Community might have gone off the air years ago, but its recent addition to Netflix has caused it to surge in popularity. This week on the podcast, Zach and Emma talk about why it wasn't so popular when it was first on the air, and why you should absolutely give this hilarious show a chance!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is back! Zach and Emma have watched this show since the beginning, so they, along with many other Star Wars fans, were elated when they found out it was returning with a seventh season. Now, with five episodes of the new season out, they are discussing how the season has been so far and their hopes/predictions for how the rest of it will be. All this and more on this episode of The Overthinking Nerds podcast!
The final Harry Potter might have been released way back in 2007, but that hasn't stopped JK Rowling from continuing to add onto it, sometimes in rather strange ways. From Fantastic Beasts to...past wizard's bathroom habits, she just can't seem to stop finding new things to keep the series relevant. This week Zach and Emma discuss this, its effects on the series as a whole, and their overall thoughts on the series this week on the podcast, along with TWO special guests!
Agents of SHIELD has been a favorite show of Zach and Emma's for years, and later this year is heading into its last season. They weren't impressed with season six, but can seven right the wrong turns that have been made in this show? More importantly, what could have been improved leading up to here? This week, Zach and Emma are discussing their thoughts on those questions and the show overall, along with a special guest!

The aftermath of "Avengers: Endgame" left the MCU without several of its core characters, who, at times, had practically carried the MCU before. Now that those characters are gone, it leaves the question, what will these movies be like from now on? Who will end up leading the Avengers, and can Marvel Studios still keep the magic going? Zach and Emma try to answer these questions and more this week on the podcast.
Another Star Wars episode? You bet! This week, Zach and Emma are discussing the newest Star Wars movie, The Rise of Skywalker with their first guest. Warning: they all have VERY strong opinions about this.
Ever since The Force Awakens came out in 2015, Zach and Emma have had mixed feelings about Disney's take on Star Wars. It just hasn't panned out well, and The Last Jedi made things even worse. But can the Rise of Skywalker save this sinking ship? Or will it just crash and burn entirely? All that and more on this episode of the Overthinking Nerds Podcast!

Listen to hear us discuss all these questions and more!
