A combination of penalties, turnovers, and a missed last second field goal resulted in the Hokies taking their first loss of the season at the hands of the Pitt Panthers. We Tell the Truth about a game that was equal parts frustrating and encouraging. We then turn our attentions to the Calgorithm as we preview the Hokies trip out west to face the Golden Bears on Saturday. We wrap as usual by making our Big Screener picks of the week.
The Hokies took a while to find their footing, literally and metaphorically, in the pounding rain in Chestnut Hill, but were able to rally late to get the win. This is the first time the Hokies have been 4-0 to start a season since 2017. We Tell the Truth about an ugly and gritty win against Boston College. We then turn our attention to Friday night as we get to the Know the Enemy about a Pitt team that heads to Blacksburg with a similar record and resume. We wrap up as always with our Big Screener picks of the week.
The Hokies made the most of their trip to College Park by snapping their OOC Power 4 losing streak while also snapping Maryland's out of conference winning streak in a 35-26 win over the Terps that wasn't as close as the final score. We Tell the Truth about an important victory for the Hokies on their path back to national relevancy. We then turn our eyes to the potentially rain-soaked event this Saturday at Chestnut Hill as the Hokies look to start their year 1-0 in conference play against BC. We wrap as always by making our Big Screener picks of the week.
The Hokies were able to handle their business without too many hiccups and cruised to a 44-21 victory over ODU in Lane Stadium on Saturday. We Tell the Truth about a victory that felt just as decisive as it was disappointing. We then turn the page to Maryland as the Hokies look to shake their losing streak against Power competition on the road. Can the Hokies dominant defensive line continue to create havoc against solid Terps team. We close as always by making our Big Screener picks of the week.
The new look Hokies started the Franklin regime off in style with a 73-3 victory over VMI. We tell the truth about a contest that was never in question from the opening drive onward. We then turn our attentions over to a familiar opponent as the ODU Monarchs prepare for another trip to Blacksburg on Saturday. The Hokies seem to have revenge in mind as they look to erase the memory of the drubbing they took at the hands of the Monarchs less than a year ago, a loss that inadvertently put Virginia Tech in the driver's seat to hire James Franklin.
