Holding on to expectations is one of the fastest way to ensure our suffering and one of the fastest ways to ensure our peace of mind is to let go of those expectations. It is easier said than done but it is possible through practice of meditation. This meditation hopes to help with the letting go by following our breath.
Our life can carry us away when we aren't looking. The mindfulness we get from practicing meditation can very easily point us back in the direction of the present moment that we can loose sight of so easily. The breath is our compass. In and out. In and out.
In the day to day grind of our life, it is very easy to loose sight of things we are grateful for. The truth is that no matter how bad things are, no matter the struggle, there is still room for gratitude. Through gratitude comes joy and joy is the path to being in love with our life.
When we sit down to meditate, we are trying to get to a place of stillness, calm, and silence to easier place ourselves in the present moment. In the present moment, we gain clarity and balance and one way into that place of calm is silence. This meditation hopes to assist the meditator to get to that place. Listen to the silence.
So often, in our lives, we get bogged down in the negative thinking so much that we can convince ourselves that nothing good will ever happen, the the only thing possible is disappointment. This is because over time we have convinced ourselves to only believe in the negative. But there is another side of possibility and in there lies all the hope and good we can see in our live. The only thing that changes is what we choose to believe in. This meditation hopes to help the meditator shift their focus into the possibility of good.
The Gap - Meditation

The Gap - Meditation

In between stimulus and response, there is a space. There is a space to be found in between our thoughts. There is a space between inhale and exhale. We call this place The Gap. The gap is where we feel present and aware. Not thinking, not worrying, just absorbing and observing, just living in that space of pure conscious awareness. This meditation aims to help the meditator find their way into that space through practice of breath.
So many times we find ourselves getting stuck in negative and unproductive thought patterns. If we aren't careful or mindful of this, we could easily sink further and further into despair. Mediation can help us reset our minds and recalibrate our day just by taking a few moments to ourselves to watch our breath.
As we go through our daily life we have things happen to us and it can be hard to remember that the things that happen to us do not have to define us. What matters most is not what happens to us but how we respond to what happens to us. This meditation aims to help the meditator return to balance.
When we meditate, over time, we learn to observe our thoughts and not to get swept away by them. This meditation hopes to help the meditator re-center, re-balance into the present moment through breath.
Awareness - Meditation

Awareness - Meditation

When we talk about meditation, very often we say things like "awareness" or "consciousness" and we can very easily brush past what any of those things mean or feel like. This meditation hopes to help the meditator become more familiar with our true self, the part of us deep down inside that is just witnessing and observing our thoughts and feelings through out our day through active listening.
The saying goes "Expectation leads to disappointment, which leads to suffering". Yes but how do we deal with those feelings? How do we push past those complicated emotions because it is hard to go through life without becoming attached to the things we care about most? Breath, my friend. It is through the breath.
When we find time to relax, we also find a deeper way into the present moment. This meditation hopes to help you get to a relaxed state where there is not time, place, or thing, just pure consciousness and pure awareness observing through breath.
Sometimes it is easy to forget that we get so busy in our lives that we need to take a few moments to quiet down, re-connect to ourselves and the present moment, and heal from the day, week, month that has been happening. This meditation hopes to encourage you to take a few moments today and every day to just heal through the quiet persistent, never-ending present moment of our breath.
As we go through life, very often we can be critical of ourself for the mistakes of the past. We all have something we beat ourselves up over but it is only after we find a way to forgiveness that we can move on and find true happiness in our life. This meditation hopes to help with that process.
We have 60K-90K thoughts a day and half of those thoughts are repeated from the day before and then half of those thoughts are negative thoughts. Over time, these repeated thoughts add up to what we think of as our personality, our truth, our reality. But what happens if we don't like our situation, personality, or reality? What if we desire change in our life? That only happens when we change our perception of reality through our perspective on what is real and what is true. Being mindful of our thoughts is an excellent way to shift into a new reality. This meditation aims to help re-wire the mind one breath at a time.
As we go through our lives, all the stressors, anxieties, bumps in the road, past traumas all add up and begin to sort of paint us into a corner and sometimes it feels like avoiding them will make them easier to deal with. Out of sight, out of mind...but over time we begin to see that there is no avoiding truth because what tends to happen is instead of avoiding that thing we are pretending doesn't exist, we end of fixating on it. Instead of avoiding the thing, it begins to run our lives in so many unproductive ways. This meditation aims to help gain perspective on this and reminds us that recognizing and acknowledging, much like acknowledging thoughts while in meditation, makes moving on with our lives so much easier.
Meditation imitates life in so many ways. When we face set backs, road blocks, or failures in our path, so often the only thing left to do is begin again. Just as in meditation when we find our mind wandering, we have to be mindful of it, acknowledge it and return to our breath. Begin again. This meditation aims to remind us that no matter what, there is no such thing as failure, so long as we keep going.
Future Self Meditation

Future Self Meditation

2024-02-1620:54

We get stuck in moments of being upset, let down, depression, anxiety and in those moments we start to think of our current situation as just how we are or "this is just who I am" and we get used to seeing ourselves that way and forget that may be true now but doesn't have to be true in the future. Visualizing our future can be a powerful way to see another version of ourselves that may be true now but can be true tomorrow. How do you see your future self? What are they telling you about yourself? What is the secret that future version of you holds that you have yet to learn? This meditation hopes to help you get closer to that future self, one breath at a time.
When we were born, we we born perfect. As we grow older and life begins to happen to us, we can very easily lose sight of our perfect true self. But the truth is that authentic, true version of ourselves never really leave us, it stays within. Our true self, our consciousness, our awareness is always there observing. This meditation aims to help us reconnect with our true self through our breath.
When we lose sight of what to be thankful for, we start to lose our ability to enjoy our life. When gratitude evades us, joy escapes us and we can slip into cynicism and scarcity. There is no happiness found in scarcity. This meditation hopes to help the listener return to the present moment to find themselves grateful for this breath, this time, this moment, this life.
