Join Nick as he discusses the race from Brands Hatch for the Intelligent Money British GT Championship for 2023. An exciting race with a lot of attrition saw all but one championship kept alive headed into the final round in October. We hear from race winner Dan Harper and GT3 Silver Cup winners Chris Hart and James Wallis. We also talk to GT4 championship hopeful Chris Salkeld on the 1-2 finish for Century Motorsport in GT4. The day was a bit of a wash out with qualifying heavily impacted by standing water. In this episode of the British Sportscar Podcast: International News, Nick Smith is your guide through four major endurance races in April. We look at the FIA World Endurance Championship's 6 Hours of Portimao which was claimed by Toyota with Ferrari in second place. Back to Europe we check out the British successes in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup season opener at Monza and the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the last FIA WEC race before the big one. In this episode of the British Sportscar Podcast we focus again on the international news with the results of Super Sebring, the double header of FIA WEC and IMSA endurance racing from the Sebring International Raceway. The FIA World Endurance Championship went first with their season opening race at Sebring. We look at the final classification and a 1-2 for Toyota Gazoo Racing. Then came the Mobil1 12 Hours of Sebring, the second round of both the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship and the North American Endurance Championship where Brits stood on the all the steps of the top class podium.We also remember Craig Breen, the Irish rally driver who lost his life recently in testing ahead of the 2023 Croatia Rally. In this episode of From the Racetrack from the British Sportscar Podcast we look at the action from both the races at Oulton Park for the 2023 Intelligent Money British GT Championship. Both races were true British GT classics with action throughout the 36 car entry and weather playing its part and then some. We hear from Jonny Adam on how it felt to win his 100th British GT race start and from Aston Martin factory driver Ross Gunn on racing the championship's most successful driver. Later we hear from Race 2 winner Ian Loggie, both drivers of the GT4 race winning RACE LAB McLaren Artura, who experienced the lowest of lows in race 1 followed by the highest of highs in tricky conditions in the afternoon. We also talk to Raffaele Marciello on his first taste of racing in the British GT Championship and to Euan Hankey, the man behind RACE LAB, getting his opinion on the McLaren 570S GT4, Artura GT4, 720S GT3 and 720S GT3 EVO, all of which he has driven. To wrap up we have 13 minutes of ambient audio at the end of the episode, recorded trackside at Clay Hill during Free Practice 1 on Saturday. It's back! The 2023 Intelligent Money British GT Championship is underway and we've had three sessions on the international circuit at Oulton Park. Saturday action included free practice 1, free practice 2 and qualifying. This episode reviews the results of the sessions and the major events of the day.
