Here we are 2+ years and 250+ episodes into this and it struck us that James and I needed to stop talking and start doing. We started this show not knowing if we'd last one week much less two years and while we're not done podcasting we are going to close the chapter on this show. My wife said it best when she said that all we need to do is exercise the faith God has given us in every situation because it is enough. Our podcasting library is filled with testimony after testimony of God fulfilling His great promises in the lives of ordinary people just like us. It is our hope that you have been blessed to go along with us on this journey and will come back when God has called us to once again use this format to spread His message. We thank you for listening and downloading and we encourage you to continue to do just that because the nuggets of wisdom our guests have shared need to be listened to over and over again. We're going to pay to keep it up so take advantage and re-listen. Have a great day folks and as always, God Bless.Your's in Christ,Dave and James
The EYFPodcast is proud to sit down today with Jody Hudson. An inspiring author and founder of the Alex Hudson Lyme Foundation, Jody Hudson is on a mission to spread hope through self-rediscovery, gratitude, and faith. After losing her twenty-two-year-old daughter to Lyme disease, Jody turned her pain into purpose and built a nation-wide preventative curriculum to educate on the severity of tick-borne illnesses that’s led to her collaboration with the Girl Scouts. With over 13 years of nonprofit leadership experience and 12 years of retail management, Jody embodies both a kind heart and a keen vision for empowering individuals. Today, Jody frequently speaks on overcoming loss, navigating through grief, learning gratitude and finding one’s purpose in life.  Her story is one no parent ever wants to have to tell but she found God at the right time and is able to rest in Him knowing that Alex is at home with Jesus. We hope you enjoy her story as much as we did in bringing it to you.
Thankfully it appears we can now put COVID in our rear view mirrors. This pandemic is over but the scars and fears remain. One of the fears involves the persecution of Christians that saw pastors get arrested and thrown into prison for refusing to bow down to the government. In America when we hear about this type of persecution we associate it with some far off country in the Middle East and certainly not with our neighbor Canada up north. Unfortunately our former good neighbor Canada used Covid as a reason to persecute the Christian church there and it's pastors. One such Pastor was James Coates and he has a story to tell and we are sharing it with you today. His story is so stunning that it helped foster a new book called "God vs. Government" which not only tells his story of arrest and persecution but also provides a blueprint going forward how we can all fight back when the government oversteps its bounds. We hope you enjoy Pastor Coates story and the message of hope he brings. God vs. Governmenthttps://gracelife.ca/
These are strange times indeed. It seems like what is good is bad and what is up is really down. We've become a nation of creatures looking for comfort but God is stirring in those who will be obedient a different way of thinking. God is using people like Matthew and Joy Thayer of Speropictures to wake people like you and I up from our slumber. The enemy never rests and so the people of God must "rest" in Jesus so that we are able to fight back against the powers of this world. We are in a battle but this is a battle we can win if we will simply obey God and retake our God-given authority back from those who receive their instructions from satan. We are on the good team and we need to help wake our other sleeping team members up. This might be the most important podcast you listen to not because of us but because of where reawakening can take you (us) as a people forward. https://reawakeningseries.com/https://speropictures.com/
It seems like the world is going to hell. Covid, mandates, protests, wars and rumors of wars, good is now bad and bad is now good. For many Christians this has been more than a rude awakening as for many it's caused fear and doubt. Into this picture comes two very important gentlemen who have been given the gift of prophetical discernment, The Prophecy Pros. Two experts. One topic. No confusion. Jeff Kinley and Todd Hampson are on a mission to reach the next generation with the inspiring, hopeful message found in Bible prophecy and today they spend an hour with us to bring some hope and encouragement. Enjoy this important episode and make sure you share it with every Christian you know so they can be reassured that God has THE PLAN. https://jeffkinley.com/https://toddhampson.com/https://theprophecypros.com/
All of us make agreements every day. We buy things that require an agreement, we enter into relationships that require an agreement and when we go to work we agree to fulfill certain requests as a part of our employer agreement. Did you know that you are to be in agreement (called COVENANT) with God as well? Did you know that if the you will simply "agree" with God (See Matt 6:33) that your life will not only improve but will be governed by God's laws and principals which He created to bless you with!God wants to be in COVENANT with you! It's the common sense plan for every person as we are all God's creation whether we know it or not. Come into agreement with God today and be inspired to seek COVENANT with Him. All you have to do is Trust and Obey.
Take notes listeners! There is so much simple truth in today's show. We have the honor and pleasure of talking with author and publisher Jack Countryman.  Jack Countryman is the founder of JCountryman gift books— adivision of Thomas Nelson—and is the recipient of theEvangelical Christian Publishers Association’s Jordan LifetimeAchievement Award. Over the past thirty years, he hasdeveloped bestselling gift books such as God’s Promises for YourEvery Need®, God’s Promises for Men®, God’s Promises forWomen®, God’s Blessings Just for You® and The Red LetterWords of Jesus. Countryman’s books have sold more than 27million units. This one is truly a treasure folks!
It's been said that 95% of the things we fear about never materialize. Most people are afraid of speaking in public but have never been asked to or had to and yet still fear it. There is a real spirit of fear but there is also our Lord Jesus Christ who came to give us back our dominion over fear. Join us today as we discuss the topic of fear, irrational and rational fears and have a return to a common sense and biblical approach to fear. God didn't give us a spirit of fear so let's not be so willing to accept it from the enemy.
As a middle school PE teacher you get to really see everything that goes on in a school community. Nowadays we really don't teach but rather we manage, we counsel, we make sure there is no unaccidental bloodshed. Everyone says our schools are broken and I would agree they are but not because of the usual suspects. Yes, schools have become indoctrination centers of leftist policies. This is by design and has been working so well for one reason. Parents have given up and given over their authority over their kids to someone else. God made you in His image. God has adopted you and made you an heir with Christ. God has given you His authority to use through Him to glorify Him and to live your life to the fullest. It doesn't take a village to raise your kids. It takes two followers of Christ, a man and a woman, husband and a wife. It's common sense.
It's been said that 70% of your neighbors are living paycheck to paycheck. Chances are such that you might be one of those neighbors! Everyone should strive to owe no one anything but especially Christians because we can't serve two masters. The issue is how do we get out of debt? What are the steps we can take to get us there? Is there some plan or person who has been where I'm at today who has gotten out of debt? Today on the podcast we are talking to debt relief expert John Nicholas, the author of Debt-Free ASAP! who has a plan based on his knowledge of getting out of debt. John is like many of us in that he has been to the top and the bottom and by the grace of God has gotten out and it is now his mission in life to share with others the common sense steps and methods to getting out of debt and staying out. We hope you enjoy today's show and we encourage you to reach out to John at:https://debt-freeasap.com/Common sense says getting out of debt is a great idea and we hope it is one of your goals for 2022!
Money is an issue. Stuff is an issue. Money and stuff together can be a big issue in both good and bad ways. The thing about money though is that it is simply a tool that God has given us to use and it's up to apply His principles to it or fall victim to what the world says about money. As we enter into 2022 the EYFPodcast is hopeful that Christians will seek a more common sense approach to all aspects of their lives including how we spend money and accumulate stuff. Next week we have special guest John Nicholas Author of Debt-Free ASAP to help our listeners achieve their financial goals but first this week James and I talk debt, tithing and God's views on money. We hope you enjoy the conversation.
Where did you "source" your information last week? Did you take in everything through the lens of the Bible or was it from the viewpoint of the world?  It has never been more important in our lifetimes as Christians than it is now to seek first the Kingdom of God. The devil is in a race to his death and he is doing everything he can to thwart, destroy, steal, confuse and kill everyone in his path. You must BELIEVE in God and in HIS WORD. Before you make a decision ask yourself what does God's Word say? Do you need physical healing? What does God's Word say?Do you need financial healing? What does God's Word say?All we need in this world is God's Word. It's common sense.
Welcome to the best year of your life! Or is it? How can you and I as Christians make 2022 the best year ever for us? That's what we want right? We want to be able to sit here a year from now and marvel about all the awesome things God did in our lives and the lives of our families in 2022 so what are we going to do to make that happen?  For most we set useless resolutions that get unresolved somewhere around the 20th of January and then vow to do better next year when things will be better, blah, blah, blah. What if there was a better way? Join us today as we bring some average, ordinary common sense to building a better relationship with God in 2022 so you can make it your best year ever.
It took a while but I finally figured out that we give out of our blessings and not all giving or blessings are material or "good" things. Sometimes are blessings are "NO's" from God or things that aren't quite comfortable in nature. We go through a trial and through that trial we end up serving others and that is a form of giving. SERVICE to others is what God wants us to do with what He has given us. It's important to remember that SERVICE can be seasonal. There may be times where you have more money than time so you serve others financially. Other times in your life you may have more time than money so you serve others with your talents. God has called all of us to serve right where our feet are at and for this time. We hope you will get out of our look at the word SERVICE something to help you today and that the blessings you have will in turn help serve others.
Today we get to reconnect back to the idea that it's the little things in life that matter and that in the end, all things are really little when you have a big God. Heather Carter was forced due to a cancer diagnosis to re-focus how she saw the world and in that battle "Soul-Selfie" was born. Heather took her thoughts, feeling and frustrations and created a blog that was supposed to just be information on her cancer battle but became a place for God to use her cancer to help others. Without saying it directly, Heather incorporates the idea that you need to get the log out of your own eye first before you can get the log out of someone else's eye. We need to all take the time every day to just sit down and meditate on God's greatness and examine our own selves so that we can have the time and energy to help others. We hope you enjoy today's show as it could become a regular part of the EYFPodcast.
Give thanks where thanks is due is gratitude. God has given us His all, it's just up to us to accept his gift and to do so with gratitude. God loves a cheerful giver and you can't have cheer and joy in your heart if you don't have gratitude. Thanksgiving is more than a meal, it's a mindset, it's gratitude for the things done for us. Join us today as we spend a few minutes with Bruce Pulver of Above the Chatter Our Words Matter as we discuss and embrace the attitude of gratitude. God is good, everyday.
Every so often you get a chance to listen to someone really neat and by neat I mean down to earth and simple to understand. Today is that day and the EYFPodcast sat down with writer and teacher Jeff Kennon. What makes this interview so good is Jeff's ability to take the complex and make it so simple anyone could take from it and share it. Jeff's latest book is called the "Cross Shaped Life", and it is a walk through the idea of taking up your Cross daily and following Jesus.  Jeff drops some serious truths here about following Jesus and how to serve. It's a truly a special interview and one we hope you enjoy as much as we did.Jeff lives in Lubbock, Texas with his wife, Paige, and 3 children: Krista, Justin, and Josh. It's been estimated that men and women speak on average over 16,250 words a day. The Bible says that our words have the power to speak both life and death and lastly (and most importantly)  John 1:1 says this, " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." God is trying to tell us something here don't you think? There is power in your words and POWER IN THE WORD, there is POWER IN JESUS. Today we get to spend a few minutes with our friend Bruce Pulver as we dive into the word "Anxiety" and it's ability to speak both life and death into us and to others. We hope you enjoy it and remember to use your words today to speak life.
