Sometimes the best conversations are the ones you never saw coming. This morning, while waiting in the green room before a television appearance, I met a guy named Mitch Hutchcraft. After hearing just a little bit of his story, I knew I had to get him on the podcast. Now, I’ll tell you right up front, this episode has absolutely nothing to do with restaurants, food, or the hospitality industry. But I believe everyone who listens to this conversation will walk away with something valuable.Mitch is a former British Royal Marine, extreme adventurer, author of Limitless, and the man behind one of the most extraordinary endurance achievements in history. He holds the world record for the longest ascent of Mount Everest. But here’s what makes his story almost impossible to believe: He didn’t just climb Everest. He traveled more than 8,000 miles under his own power just to get there. He swam across the English Channel, cycled through 19 countries, ran hundreds of miles, trekked through the Himalayas, and ultimately stood on top of the world’s tallest mountain. The entire journey took 240 days.Joining Mitch is his friend, a local Nashville attorney whom he met while climbing Ama Dablam in the Himalayas. Together, they share an incredible story of friendship, adventure, determination, and what it takes to accomplish something most people wouldn’t even dream of attempting.Mitch takes us behind the scenes of his record-breaking expedition, sharing the physical challenges, mental battles, unexpected obstacles, and unforgettable moments that defined his journey.I’ve had the privilege of interviewing some incredible people over the years, but this was a conversation I never expected to have when I woke up this morning. This is one of those episodes that will make you rethink what’s possible in your own life.Listen now to Nashville Restaurant Radio wherever you get your podcasts, and don’t forget to follow, rate, and subscribe!
