Dr. Nathanial Hearne is the President and Founder of Made Up Minds and The Euless Loaves and Fishes Foundation. Through these organizations, Dr. Hearne provides training and programs to reach at-risk youth for the purpose of strengthening character, teaching leadership skills, and increasing school attendance. He began his career in education in the Ector County Independent School District (ECISD), where he worked for 18 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator.While in Ector County, he was an assistance coach for the Permian High School football team, which won the 1989 State and National Championship. Permian High School was the subject of the National Bestselling book Friday Night Lights and a subsequent movie and television series by the same name.Dr. Hearne was named Outstanding Principal of the Year for Region 18 in 1993-94, and Assistant Principal of the Year for HEBISD in 2008. He served as an assistant principal at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas for four years, and as assistant principal of the Discipline Alternative Education Program for five years. Inhis last five years in the district, he served as the Student Attendance Specialist and Director over the HEBISD’s Truancy Department. In December 2010, the Dropout Prevention Program Dr. Hearne initiated in the HEBISD was recognized by Texas School Business magazine as the “best dropout prevention program in the state.”Dr. Hearne is the former Assistant Executive Director of the Greater Dallas/Ft. Worth Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Among his duties at FCA, he conducted the pre-game chapel services for university football teams including University of Oklahoma, Texas Christian University, University of Tulsa, University of Idaho, University of Louisiana, and Louisiana Tech. Dr. Hearne is married to Callie, a recently retired Assistant Superintendent over the Human Resource Department for the HEBISD. They have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. They presently reside in Arlington, Texas.Dr. Hearne’s passion is to mentor and build leadership skills, particularly in those who have a direct influence over the lives of youth. He is a sought-after keynote speaker and workshop leader for kids or youth gatherings, graduations, men’s conferences, coaching, and leadership events. He is currently Director of the new Peak Performance Center at Baylor University. Golf Digest (2013) named him one of the “Top 10 Mental Game Experts” in the world of golf.  He is currently coaching several of the Tour’s top players. His latest book, The Psychology of Tournament Golf: Playing Your Best When it Means the Most was released Christmas 2014Dr. Cook's consulting firm bridges the gap between the sports and business arenas.  He is the former Director of Applied Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Kansas (1984 - 1996) where his peers elected him President of the National Sport Psychology Academy in 1992.  During his twelve-year tenure at K.U. he counseled over 2500 athletes and coaches and directed the graduate program in Applied Sport Psychology.  He also directed the Mindset Academy at the Westin La Cantera Resort, a nationally recognized mental training academy for aspiring competitive golfers from 2001 - 2006.  David’s articles have been featured in Golf Magazine, Golf Illustrated, and Golf Tips.  In 1988 David represented the United States at the International Olympic Academy in Olympia, Greece.David received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in 1980.  He completed his Ph.D. in Applied Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Virginia in 1984.  He is married to Karen and has two daughters.  They live in the Hill Country of Texas.
