Due to a shortage of listener-submitted questions, we're shaking things up with a Q&A episode featuring questions generated by none other than ChatGPT! From gear preferences to favorite ski destinations, no question is off-limits. Plus, it's a great opportunity to see if I've got what it takes to handle your burning questions in future episodes. So grab your hot cocoa, cozy up by the fire, and let's dive into this special Q&A episode. Who knows, maybe next time, your question will be featured! Welcome back to another episode of Ski Rex Media Podcast! We're back after a brief hiatus, and I'm excited to dive into today's topic. But before we get into it, let me fill you in on why there was no episode last week. Unfortunately, I was under the weather and couldn't hit the record button. But fear not, because I've got some ideas to ensure that doesn't happen again in the future. Now, onto the main event. Today, we're talking about something that all ski mountains seem to share, no matter their size or prestige: parking lot conditions. Let's be honest, folks, when it comes to the state of ski resort parking lots, it's often a mixed bag, and more often than not, it's not the prettiest sight. But hey, before you label me as a hater, let's remember that this is all in good fun. Sure, there's a serious undertone to it, but today, we're just here to have a laugh and poke a little fun at some of the quirks of ski areas. So, join me as we take a humorous look at the state of ski resort parking lots. From potholes to packed snow, we'll explore the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. And who knows, maybe we'll even come up with some creative solutions along the way. So grab your skis or snowboard, and let's hit the slopes... or, uh, the parking lot! Because today, we're tackling the thing all ski mountains share: parking lot conditions! I've tried to get up to Attitash several times this season and this past Friday was FINALLY the payoff. This week, as I make my way to Attitash to get some skiing in the sunshine, I talk to you, the wonderful Ski Rex Media Podcast Fans, about the weather. Also, this is all being done in the car. I figure since I usually end up talking to myself in the car on these trips, why not use that talk for something good, which I hope this podcast episode is? Please, have a listen and I hope you enjoy this solo episode. Thank you! Would you like 10% off a pair of the Imbrace Snow Sports Leggings I talked about in the episode? The Ski Rex Media Podcast returns with a brand-new episode. This week, I'm going at it solo. Well, one could say that I have an alter ego going at it solo. I bring you an episode from Tim the Liftie, which happens to be a tribute to the t-bar. Specifically, the t-bar at Whaleback Mountain. Please have a listen for a full explanation as to how I came up with the idea for this episode. I tried to make it as fun as I could, especially since I had to stop recording every so often to cough. Yes, there's going to be a biff reel soon enough, and will have a few from this episode. Thank you for listening and I hope that you enjoyed it. Use the code SKIREX10 at imbrace.com for 10% off a pair of their snow sports leggings. I have a pair and I'll never ski without them again. As it happens here at the Ski Rex Media Podcast, I present another sequel episode. If you go back two episodes, you can listen to guest Geoff Hanson talk about how the Imbrace Snow Sports Leggings went from dream to reality. Part of the design effort came from a 4x Olympic Alpine Skier who not only weighed in on the leggings for snow sports in general but how to make a better product for women. This week, we talked to that Olympian. Chemmy Alcott, a former Alpine ski racer from England joins the program to discuss her part in the design process for Imbrace. Afterwards, we get to talk a little about her career, which brought her to Waterville Valley in her youth, we talk about ski broadcasting with a GS World Cup prediction, and she even gives me a tip that I might have to try. It's a fun episode with a lot of information, My Friends. Strap in and enjoy!   Remember, if you'd like to try a pair of the Imbrace Snow Sports Leggings or any of their other products for yourself, head to https://imbrace.com and use the code "SKIREX10" to get 10% off your order.   Be sure to check out the Ski Rex Media Partners, as well: Whaleback Mountain Please follow/subscribe to the Ski Rex Media Podcast on Podbean, your favorite podcast app, or YouTube. I hope everybody is packed and ready to hit the road. This week, we're heading up to Tohkomeupog Camp for a week at Ski & Snowboard Camp. Okay, we are not literally heading up to the camp, but this week's guest is Steve Harding, the Director at the camp. In this episode, Steve tells us all about the history of the camp, which is about to reach 100 years. He also tells us about the camp programs, what the kids think, what the parents think, and how to get your child into the camp. In fact, we also talk a little about the summer camp. Oh, and the camp is right next door to King Pine Ski Area, which we've talked about on the podcast before. Have a listen for some history, some camp stories, and maybe a place that your child might like to visit. Thank you for listening! If you would like more information about Tohkomeupog Camp, please head to their website at https://www.tohko.com/ski-snowboard-camp/about-ski-snowboard-camp. Hello and welcome to another all-new Ski Rex Media Podcast! This week, Geoff Hanson, Founder of Imbrace, comes on the program to talk about the Imbrace Snow Sports Leggings. Now, I'll say that I think he succeeded because I have a pair of the snow sports leggings and Dynamic+ leggings and I love them both. If you'd like to hear more about how they work, listen to this episode. We also talk about how Geoff came up with the idea, who he worked with to make the idea a reality, and a bunch of other stuff. It's that time of the week, My Friends. Time for a new Ski Rex Media Podcast Episode. This week, I welcome new guests, Ryan Thompson, founder of 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits Company, and Jay Baldassarre, 10th Mountain Whiskey Northeast Rep. to the program. Not only do we talk about the products they make for your après enjoyment, to which there are a few, but we also talk about the history of the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army and why Ryan decided to honor those men and women when started the distillery. That's right, there is an education component to this one. I also addressed another question that came in through the Ski Rex Media voicemail. I really get a kick out of this bit. Good Morning, My Friends!!! The Ski Rex Media Podcast is all new, has a new guest, and has a new segment. For the segment, I answered a question via the Ski Rex Media Speakpipe Voicemail. The voicemails are starting to come in slowly, so instead of waiting to do the Q&A episode, I answer one of them in this episode. It's a question that came about after last week's episode about littering on the mountains. Then, I welcome a new guest to the podcast, Ed Warren. He is the Managing Director at Uphill New England, which has a pass dedicated to going uphill at several New England ski areas and resorts. We talk about the pass, what it can do for you and the mountains, and some of the cons, as well. There are two segments in this episode and a lot is going on during those two segments. Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoyed it.   If you want more information about Uphill New England, please visit their website at https://www.uphillnewengland.org. How are you out there in Ski Rex Media Podcast-Land? As you can see and hear...it's time for another new Ski Rex Media Podcast episode! This week, I bring you a second solo episode that's based on a social media post that I put up a bit ago. It should be easy to find if you follow Ski Rex Media on social media. Especially once you know it's about littering. It was a post that generated a bunch of interest and conversation across social media and I thought it would be good to keep it going and make an episode that was a P.S.A. For this P.S.A. episode, I talk about littering, why you shouldn't do it, and how littering could be part of how some outside communities look at the snow sports communities and industry. Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoyed it! The podcast returns next week with a new guest.   P.S.- What did you think of that pre-theme music sound clip? If you would like to do one, head to my website, http://www.skirexmedia.com, or directly to https://www.speakpipe.com/SkiRexMedia to leave me a voicemail, which I can then use as an intro. I hope that you are ready for a New Year and a New Ski Rex Media Podcast. This week, I'm going solo on the old podcast. I have a little bit of a lull until the next round of recording sessions begins, so I'm thinking it would be a good time to see if I can still pull off a solo episode. It's been a while since I've done one, so why not give it a try, right? In this episode, I wanted to talk about some of the odd things that kids bring up as they exit the magic carpet lift at Whaleback. I also get into a few other stories from my return to lift operations at Whaleback. I've done two days already this season. Let's see how many more I will do.   Just so you know, and I say this in this episode, but I would like to do a Q&A episode. You can ask Ski Rex Media a question or you can just send me something goofy to put on the podcast. Either way works. You can send me a DM through social media, you can send me an email (contact@skirexmedia.com), you can send a comment on a social media post, or you can leave Ski Rex Media a voicemail at https://www.speakpipe.com/SkiRexMedia. I've already had one voicemail, but I'd like a few more. Participate if you can. I appreciate it.   Be sure to check out the Ski Rex Media Partners, as well: Whaleback Mountain Please follow/subscribe to the Ski Rex Media Podcast on Podbean, your favorite podcast app, or YouTube. Yes, I know that Christmas is still several days away, but I wanted to make sure that my Christmas Special was out before the holiday, not after. This year, I present a reading of " 'Twas The Night Before Christmas...On The Slopes". As I'm sure you guessed, it's based on the " 'Twas The Night Before Christmas" that we all know and love, but with a few changes...well, many changes, to be more fitting for the Ski Rex Media crowd. I think you'll get a kick out of this one. I know that I do. I listened to it several times during editing and got a chuckle out of it every time. It's short and sweet since I know many folks are busy this time of year, myself included. I didn't want to take up too much of your time. I hope you enjoy this one. Good Day to you all! I hope you're ready for another Ski Rex Media Podcast episode. Well, if you're not, you can always listen later. It's not like the podcast is done live, but still. This week, I have an episode with Mom Tips. Of course, it's not just for Moms. The Dads can totally benefit from the information in this episode, as well. It's all about family. Ski Rex Media is a family program and I'm keeping it in the family with this week's guest, Karen Proctor. She's a snowboard mom with a snowboard family and has a ton of experience taking the family all over the northeast to ride. We go over all of those tips and tell some stories, as well as compare ski resort numbers and a bunch of other things. Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoyed the episode.   If you want to check out Karen's snow-centric website, please visit https://slopefamilies.com. Are you having a good day? We're talking about that on today's Ski Rex Media Podcast. In fact, we're talking about having a good day in two ways. First, we talk about it in a literal way. Second, we talked to Jared Szuch, the Founder and CEO (or Ski-EO) of Good Day Optics. We talk to Jared about the story behind Good Day Optics, as well as the video behind the product, as well. Also, I bring up how important goggles are, at least for me personally. It's time for another Ski Rex Media Podcast, My Friends! I have another fun one for you, though I almost didn't think this one was going to make it. I thought this one might be the third or fourth lost episode, but I was able to save it! That story is in the episode, as well. This week, we talked about travel skiing, which is something I have covered before on the podcast. However, we also get into snow sports for the Senior crowd, which is something new on the podcast. This week, journalist and author, Evelyn Kanter, is on the program to share some information and some stories from her life and career. It's a lot of fun and has a bunch of information. You might even need to take some notes. Thank you for listening to this episode and I hope you enjoyed it. This podcast episode may sound familiar to some of you. That would be because this is the same episode featuring Robert & Ryan DeLena that debuted during the summer show. But, even though it did okay then, I think it will do much better during the season. The Ski Rex Media Podcast is always more popular during the snow sports season here in the East. Plus, I was just hanging out with the authors in Boston at the Snowbound Expo and we had so much fun there that I wanted to give them another run. Right? So, if you heard this one during the summer, thank you for listening then. If you are hearing this for the first time, thank you for listening now.   If you'd like to pick up a copy for yourself...hard copy, audiobook, or ebook, I have some links for you: Amazon (Hard Copy, Audio Book, eBook) Barnes & Noble (Hard Copy, Audio Book, eBook)   For even more places to purchase the book, more about the authors, and contact and social media links, head to the DeLena's website at without-restraint-book.com.   As we talked about in the episode, if you would like to follow along with Robert & Ryan's adventures, follow them on Instagram. @extreme_ryan_delena and @robert.delena. As you may know, especially if you are a long-time fan of Ski Rex Media, the Snowbound Expo was this past weekend down in Boston, MA. This was the second year of the Expo and they outdid themselves and then some with this one. All the brands and ski hills that you would expect to show up were there, not to mention a few that you might not expect. There was also a pretty awesome lineup of speakers on The Inspiration Stage, several of which were on in this podcast. This podcast features eight interviews with speakers, attendees, and exhibitors of the Expo, a couple of which have been on the podcast before. The goal is to give you, the listener, an idea of what to expect and have a little fun doing so. This guest list has quite the cross-section of folks and includes: Caroline Proulx - Québec's Minister of Tourism Danny Hairston - Founder of the Shred Foundation LJ Henriquez - Next Gen Snowboarder from NYC Brenna Huckaby - 3-time Paralympic Gold Medal Snowboarder Rob & Ryan DeLena - Authors of Without Restraint: How Skiing Saved My Son's Life Tom Kindley - GM of the N.E. Freejacks SteepSteep - Former Freestyle Skier & YouTube Personality (With Surprise Appearance by Adam Jaber, Host of the Out of Bounds Podcast) Steven Morgan - Of Raccoon Media There's a little something here for everyone, which is what the Snowbound Expo is all about. Head to http://www.skirexmedia.com for more from Ski Rex Media, which includes links to social media, contact links, merch, and a link to the Ski Rex Media Patreon page, which is at https://www.patreon.com/skirexmedia. Subscribing there gets you the podcast on Sunday instead of Wednesday, priority call-ins during live streams, bonuses, and other tasty tidbits. Thank you!!!
