Today on the show, I’ll be chatting with superstar voice actor and one of the hosts of the VO Meter Podcast, Paul Stefano. With more than 20 years’ experience, Paul has become an expert at transforming his voice to reflect a wide variety of intonations. Depending on the voice over project – IVR, imaging, narration, character, non-fiction, dual POV – he can change his tone in a heartbeat. From serious and trustworthy, to silly and sarcastic; from warm and wistful, to conversational and sincere – Paul can be counted on to deliver the right style for the project at hand.Paul and his colleague Sean Daeley just finished up being the official Podcast Partner at Mini MAVO20202 this past weekend! I’ll be curious to hear what he thought of the online event and will also ask him about what else he’s up to in his VO career. **Special Thanks to Sean Daeley for doing the outro for this episode!!****"Live with Squacky" is sponsored in part by Mid-Atlantic Voiceover, LLC and Antland Productions.***"Live with Squacky" is mixed and mastered by everybody's favorite voiceover tech, "Uncle" Roy Yokelson of Antland Productions. Mini MAVO2020, the online conference that I organize and host was this past weekend!! It turned out really great and I've had tons of positive feedback about it. So I thought it would be a good idea to do a recap show to highlight all of the sessions and say thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters. Also, if you missed the event, it will eventually be available to rewatch on ReAttendance, more details on that coming soon. Special thanks to JMC Demos and Bodalgo for being the Gold Level Sponsors for the conference, to Antland Productions and Uncle Roy for being our tech support and to Zephan Blaxberg of ZMB Media for producing the live stream for us. We used Zoom to host all of our meetings and it was user friendly and we really didn't have any technical issues at all. Thank you to Michael Kinsey, Paula Restrepo and Maria Lelie from "Learning Ally" for offering a great session to attendees on how they can give back to the community by volunteering their voices to help struggling students with audiobooks. Congratulations to "Uncle" Roy Yokelson for winning the "MAVO Muse Award" this year! This award is presented to one (or sometimes two) industry pro(s) for their outstanding contribution to the VO community. "Uncle" Roy is one of the most kind and generous people in the industry. He helps to produce and edit this podcast and I can think of no one more deserving than him for the award. If you need tech support, home studio advice, a bagel(!), or a new demo, he's your guy!! Thanks Uncle Roy!! Be sure to check out all the details of Angel Burch's VO X-class at https://voxclass.com/home/I hope you enjoy this recap episode. We will be back on next week with another interview style episode! Thanks for listening!! Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Start for FREEDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. In about 2012, I attended my first VO conference in Toronto. I decided to attend after I had a coaching intensive with superstar puppeteer & actor John Tartaglia in NYC. Long story short, I wanted to see if I could pursue my dream of being on “Sesame Street” -and I thought John could possibly help. It was a great session, but about an hour into it, I realized that puppeteering is a skillset that takes a lot of time and training and that it might already be too late in my life to learn and master it. So, John suggested that I stick to VO and referred me to Sunday Muse – who just happens to be my special guest today!! I had the chance to meet Sunday at that first VO conference I ever attended in Toronto because she was a guest speaker! Shortly after that, I took some animation VO coaching sessions with her and the rest is history!!Sunday Muse is the Founder/Creative Manager & Inspiratrice of Great Big Voices. She excels in helping people manifest their dreams into reality and communicate authentically to the world. She is a singer, celebrity voice over actress, author, holistic voice coach & speaker. Her movement & voice over workshops have been featured in the Huffington Post. She has been a featured speaker and taught voice & movement across North America at NYU, Mallorca Holistic Retreat, National Theatre School, Covenant House, Children’s Theatre Company NYC, JCC NYC, Randolph Academy, MAVO & VO Atlanta. She was nominated for a Voice Arts Award for Best Voiceover in an Animation Series through the Society of Voice Arts in L.A and is a proud recipient of the MAVO Muse Award. Her leading voice acting credits include: HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, SOPHIE, BAKUGAN, TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND, ABBEY HATCHER, JIMMY 2 SHOES, ARTHUR, ROLIE POLIE OLIE, CARE BEARS, ODD JOB JACK, JANE & THE DRAGON, TIME WARP TRIO, CAILLOU, WILLA’S WILDLIFE and dozens of radio/tv commercials. For more info about Sunday Muse or to connect with her, visit her websites at https://www.sundaymuse.com/ &  https://greatbigvoices.com/Sunday Muse will be appearing at "Mini MAVO2020" on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8. We’re switching up the format of this podcast a tiny bit because as we head into the fall season, things are even busier than they were during the summer. The only difference is that after a few episodes where I(Val Kelly/Squackyvoice) interview people – as usual, there will be a shorter episode with just me talking about a relevant VO topic for 10 minutes or less! In today's episode, I talk about finding balance and staying positive in what can sometimes be an overwhelming world. I felt this was especially appropriate right now - as kids are going back to school and we're all trying to balance work with teaching!! I hope this episode helps you to realize that everything will be ok and that sometimes all you need to do is take a moment to breathe!! For more information about Val Kelly, visit her website at https://www.valkellyvoiceover.com/ or connect with her on Twitter or Instagram @squackyvoice, @livewithsquacky or @Midatlanticvo. In this episode of "Live with Squacky", professional voice actress and podcast host, Val Kelly chats with the multi-talented actor, writer, producer, Jimmy Doom. Jimmy started out as the vocalist of legendary Detroit punk band “The Almighty Lumberjacks of Death” while occasionally appearing in independent, underground, straight to VHS "cinema". After the band's breakup and a brief tenure on an axle assembly line, Jimmy took advantage of an indefinite layoff to return to acting. The first "name" actor he had the privilege of working with was David Carradine, whom he met virtually seconds before they began their first scene in a film now known as "Dark Fields". Doom is also actively involved in a great comedy project called The T.R.U.T.H. Show, a parody conspiracy experience.  T.R.U.T.H.cast . He’s on the first episode as Mr.Dr.Terri O'Reilli. It's unscripted and very irreverent and has become an entire fictional universe since the time of its inception. Jimmy is an exceptionally talented actor, writer and producer. In this interview, Val asks Jimmy about how he got started in the industry, character development, being able to take direction, writing advice, the film scene in Detroit, superheros, his upcoming films, and so much more! This was a really fun interview and Jimmy offered tons of valuable industry advice! Special thanks to Patrick Kirchner for doing the outro for this episode!
