Welcome to episode 50 of the Reel Life Podcast πŸŽ™ This week I discuss the importance of understanding that the beginning of anything, is always going to be difficult and often times incredibly discouraging! So many people quit, because they have this idea that something is going to be effortless, simply because they're passionate, which could not be further from the truth. If you enjoy the podcast please consider sharing it with a friend πŸ€™πŸΌ
This week I wanted to talk all about creative funks, and how I work myself out of these times where creativity is hard to come by! I think 2020 and so far 2021 have been incredibly valuable years for learning how to find inspiration within, rather than depending on external motivators, and today, I wanted to share some of those lessons that I've learnt, with all of you. I hope you enjoy this weeks episode πŸŽ™
This week I discussed the topic of being authentic and personal online, and how I believe this is the best way to build a real and genuinely engaged audience.Β  I see my creative work, photography and digital art as a vehicle for getting myself in front of more people so that I'm able to share my experiences as an artist, share my thoughts and feelings and be open with those that see my work. Being honest and real is how you build real connection, and when you build real connection, thats when you build real fans, people that will go to bat for you, and be invested in everything that you're doing! This week I spoke all about the comparison trap, and how people are often paralysed by the decision, rather than taking action and adjusting accordingly. Life ebbs and flows, and no decision you make right now is going to be more important than the experience you can gain by simply taking action. I hope you enjoy this weeks episode πŸŽ™

This week I talk about a strategy I use to create behaviour change in my own life. It's an idea that spawned out of my swimming days when I was younger. Back then, I would only count every 4th lap or every 100m as a lap, and by doing so, turn a 160 lap 4km session into a 40 lap session. Now yes, this doesn't change the actual output required for the session, but it does make it far more manageable. Which allowed me to show up confident and ready, rather than anxious and overwhelmed, which lead to more sessions, and less self doubt. Nowadays I use this same strategy in my business, creative and personal life, by creating small "sprints" for myself, tricking my brain into believing that a new behaviour is only a temporary change, just long enough for that behaviour to become a habit. I hope you enjoy this weeks episode πŸŽ™
This week I talk all about flow state. I hope you enjoy this weeks episode πŸŽ™
This week I spoke about discipline, and it's relationship to habit building. I hope you enjoy this weeks episode πŸŽ™
This week I spoke about the idea of being original, and whether or not it's actually possible. Throughout my own career, I've used the process of reverse engineering other peoples work as a form of education, and I think that by allowing yourself to take inspiration from others, you'll garner the knowledge and tools necessary in order to create your own style. So rather than seeking out originality, you should instead look to combine the work of your idols into a new piece of creativity, which to onlookers, will appear to be an original. I hope you enjoy this weeks episode πŸŽ™
Episode 39 of the Reel Life Podcast πŸŽ™ This week Tom speaks on mastery vs success, and the importance of having goals dedicated to achieving each. With mastery, you will achieve some form of success. But success does not necessarily result in mastery.

Episode 33 is live πŸŽ™ This week I discussed the importance of being willing to start before you're ready. So many people build up this big frightening version of what it means to start a podcast, youtube channel, business, or any other creative venture, and that version they end up creating in their own minds ends up stopping them from doing something that is actually fairly straight forward. Preparedness is useless, because you can never be truly prepare yourself for the challenges you'll face once you actually start. So stop preparing for it and start before you're ready! I hope you enjoy this weeks episode πŸŽ™
