It's a Lifestyle.

It's a Lifestyle.

2020-07-2826:28

Mike, Chuck and Megan discuss the mentality that actors need to have to succeed in the business. Most actors do not see acting professionally as a complete lifestyle. It is more of a part time thing, like a diet done to get quick results. Nothing could be further from the truth. Actors have to be all in every day. Therefore the work many do towards their career does not promote advancement nor does it put them in position to make the gains they need to have a successful career on film. This episode is all about the MENTAL aspect of a professional actor. Acting is an inside job, what you feel inside will show on the outside.
Mike and the crew hash it out. Being able to keep your focus on the work, no deviation, is an essential skill for any professional. Everyone wants results(bookings), but our ability to stay on program with or without them is the real key. Often, it is hard for actors to really stay on track when dealing with real life situations. From relationships to any and all sorts of problems we may encounter on a day to day basis, actors have to keep their sh*t wired tight!
Mike, Chuck, and Megan discuss how auditioning has changed for actors. They give their own personal account of what used to be and what is now, and, more importantly, what actors are facing in an ever changing landscape that is "The Industry." The advent of self tapes and how that has changed the business is covered as well as more mechanics of dealing with auditions in this day and age!
